Kip J. Lieber, Age 44 of Swissvale, PA died Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his home.


Born on October 19, 1977 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of Richard J. Lieber and Janis (Swope) Lieber.  His father survives and lives in DuBois with his wife, Carol.  His mother survives and lives in Akron, OH.

 

Kip was a 1995 graduate of the DuBois Area High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.

 

He worked for years at the New Dumpling House in Squirrel Hill.  Kip was also well known in the Pittsburgh music scene playing keyboard for the bands Fungus and theCAUSE.

 

Kip’s confidence carried him on stage and into every room he walked into.  Kip got his first keyboard at 2 ½ years old, it was his brother Jeff’s keyboard, and he took full possession.  He never quit playing and had an ear that could pick up every song he heard.  He was kind, brilliant, irreverent, hilarious, talented, creative and had nice shoes!

 

In addition to his parents and his step mother, he is survived by, a step sister, Suzi Manning and her husband, Matthew of DuBois, PA and two step brothers, Donald McCracken and his wife, Carolyn of DuBois, PA and Brent McCracken Bologna, SC.

 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Lieber.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

 

A private family funeral service will be held.

 

Although flowers are appreciated, the family requests memorials are placed with the DuBois Public Library, 31 South Brady Street, DuBois, PA 15801.
