Your tax dollars at work (buying votes, again)

I have been warning people forever about this deal. The union heads have been begging your voted for government to bail them out of their mis managed crooked retirement promises they made to their members for years.  They finally found a sucker, in Biden, to get your tax dollars as they walk free.

Biden announces $36 billion bailout for union pension plan

Biden calls himself most pro-labor president in history

President Joe Biden announced Thursday he will pump $36 billion into a union pension plan to prevent drastic benefit cuts for pensioners, just a week after he signed a railroad labor deal opposed by several union organizations.

The announcement marks the largest federal award for retiree pensions in history and is funded by Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, according to the White House. The $36 billion will go to the Central States Pension Fund, which is for mostly Teamster union members.

The $36 billion amounts to about half of the available federal funds for pension relief under the American Rescue Plan. The pension fund, which covers 350,000 members, was at risk of cuts as high as 60%, but the White House said the fund will now be stable until at least 2051.

"Once again, Biden is paying back his Big Labor allies to the detriment of taxpayers and the 90 percent of American workers who have chosen not to affiliate with a union," Mix told Fox News Digital. "Long before COVID, union officials have been mismanaging plans like the Teamsters Central States fund, which makes it especially offensive that the pandemic has been used as an excuse for this bailout."

Labor unions donated $27.5 million to Biden’s campaign in 2020.

Here is part of what your 36 billion dollars bought

A great day to be a railroad worker

The newly enacted law codifies a July deal negotiated by rail unions and the Biden administration that would raise workers pay by 24% over a five-year period from 2020 through 2024, including an immediate payout on average of $11,000 upon ratification.

If your a black woman, go ahead and get yourself inseminated by your local drug dealing street corner thug and the government will give you $1200.00 a month. You don't need to keep your chosen thug around for money, the tax payers will pay you.

And last of the give a ways today--------San Francisco recently launched another guaranteed income program for transgender residents. The program will provide low-income transgender residents with payments of up to $1,200 each month for up to 18 months.

San Francisco guaranteed income program for pregnant Black women to expand across California

San Francisco has another guaranteed income program for transgender residents that provides payments of up to $1,200 each month

A guaranteed income program that provides monthly checks to Black pregnant women in San Francisco will expand to other counties in California.

The Abundant Birth Project began in June 2021 to serve pregnant women with $1,000 monthly payments over 12 months to 150 people. The program is intended to "reduce the racial birth disparities by easing economic stress."

On Tuesday, San Francisco's Department of Public Health announced a $5 million grant in state funding to expand the program in Alameda, Contra Costa, Los Angeles and Riverside counties for the next two to three years.

Biden roasted for sending South Africa $8 billion to shut down coal plants: ‘Weapon grade lunacy’

The president said coal-fired power plants would be replaced with renewable energy sources

President Biden proclaimed Wednesday that the United States and other G-7 countries will donate billions to get South Africa off coal and on renewables, to the chagrin of many on Twitter.

"Today’s announcement joined a portfolio of Partnership for Global Infrastructure Investment projects already underway in Africa," Biden declared at the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit, "Including mobilizing $8 billion in public and private finance to help South Africa replace coal-fired power plants with renewable energy sources."

Oregon must 'stay the course' on soft heroin laws despite skyrocketing overdose rates: drug law proponents

Oregon's trailblazing drug law had a rocky start, but proponents argue criticism is unfair

PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon's first-in-the-nation drug decriminalization measure has been highly scrutinized since voters passed it two years ago, but as state funding finally starts to make its way to addiction service providers, proponents say they're starting to see results.

"It's going to take a long time to fully see what's happening," said Hannah Studer, deputy director of the behavioral health nonprofit Bridges to Change. "We have to stay the course because this is life and death and this really is building an entirely new future for the state that the state deserves."

Measure 110 passed with 58% of the vote in 2020. It decriminalized possession of personal use amounts of hard drugs including heroin, meth and fentanyl, and redirected a significant portion of the state's marijuana tax revenue — which had previously gone to schools, police and local governments — to fund grants for addiction services.

But critics accuse the law of fueling addiction and crime in parts of the state, especially Portland, and the measure became a hot topic in this year's gubernatorial race.

"It's worked out great for the drug dealers and the drug users because we have an open-air drug market," said David Potts, chair of the Lents Neighborhood Livability Association.

Portland Police Association President Aaron Schmautz told Fox News in September that police don't want to see "mass incarceration as a result of low level drug use" and that treatment should be prioritized.

"But you need some teeth to that," Schmautz said. "There needs to be a way to require that treatment."

Drug possession is now a Class E violation, punishable by a maximum $100 fine, which people can have waived if they call a hotline and complete a treatment assessment. Oregon Health & Science University's head of addiction medicine, Dr. Todd Korthuis, said few people are calling the hotline, and most are only doing so to get their citation waived.

"Only 1% of those issued a ticket for drug possession requested information about treatment resources," he told a state senate committee earlier this year. "In my discussions with treatment leaders around the state, not one has had any patient enroll in treatment due to these tickets."

Of 3,645 citations issued through November, 68% ended in a conviction because the suspect failed to appear in court, according to the Oregon Judicial Department.

Ron Williams, director of outreach for the Health Justice Recovery Alliance, which advocates for Measure 110, isn't concerned by the lack of participation and thinks people should be able to seek recovery services on their own terms.

"There's very little evidence that coercive treatment works," Williams said. "Most people who use drugs recreationally don't think they have a problem and thus don't think they need treatment. So why would you force them into treatment?"

Unemployment benefits and Obamacare subsidies outpace median income in several states, study finds

Benefits amount to over $100,000 in three states for a family of four with two people not working

There are numerous reasons that unemployed Americans aren't entering the workforce, including ongoing fears of COVID-19, disabilities such as "long COVID," and other care responsibilities. One factor that is contributing to the relatively low labor force participation rate is the combination of unemployment benefits and recently expanded Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies, according a new study by the nonprofit Committee to Unleash Prosperity.

In 14 states, unemployment benefits and ACA subsidies for a family of four with two people not working amounts to an annualized equivalent of $80,000 a year in wages and benefits, the study found.

Those benefits come out to over $100,000 in three states – Washington, Massachusetts, and New Jersey.

"A key policy question these days that has befuddled federal lawmakers is why so many millions of Americans have not returned to the workplace in the post-Covid era. The U.S. is ‘missing’ more than three million workers of working age that could be working and were working prior to Covid but are not today," University of Chicago economics professor Casey Mulligan and Heritage Foundation research fellow EJ Antoni wrote in the study

"This study shows that one factor contributing to the dearth of workers is the generous benefits paid to families without workers."

The Inflation Reduction Act, which the Biden administration helped usher through Congress earlier this year, extended subsidies from the American Rescue Plan until 2025.

"The expansion of assistance, especially in subsidized health insurance to families with children and no parents working, can mean that families can earn as much or more income from receiving government assistance than the median household does from working," the authors wrote.

Five eye-popping spending items in the $1.7 trillion omnibus bill

The bill contains $858 billion in defense spending and $772.5 billion in non-defense discretionary spending

The release of the bill, which spans 4,155 pages, comes after negotiations between Senate Republicans and House and Senate Democrats. To stave off some government funding running out, lawmakers have until the end of the week to pass the proposed legislation.

One provision in the bill states that "not less than" $575 million "should be made available for family planning/reproductive health, including in areas where population growth threatens biodiversity or endangered species."

In another section, the behemoth bill requires $410 million to "remain available" to reimburse Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Oman for "enhanced border security." At least $150 million of that must go to Jordan, according to the bill.

Meanwhile, the bill allocates $1.56 billion to Customs and Border Protection for "border management requirements" and $339.6 million to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for "non-detention border management requirements," funds that are prohibited from being used to "acquire, maintain, or extend border security technology and capabilities" unless they’re for improving processing.

About $3 million goes toward the Pollinator-Friendly Practices on Roadsides and Highway Rights-of-Way Program, according to the bill. That program provides grants to state departments of transportation, Native American tribes and federal land management agencies for "activities to benefit pollinators on roadsides and highway rights-of-ways" like planting certain types of fauna or implementing certain mowing strategies.

One earmark included in the spending bill asks for $3.6 million for a project called "Michelle Obama Trail – PATH Trail Project" in Georgia.

Top staffers can now make $38,000 more than House and Senate lawmakers

The move comes after Pelosi already issued a directive earlier this year raising the maximum pay staffers can make from $199,300 to $203,700. At the time, Pelosi also instituted a minimum salary level of $45,000 for House staff.

According to the Treasury Department, a "qualified commercial clean vehicle" is a vehicle made by a qualified maker, acquired for use or lease by a taxpayer and is "propelled to a significant extent" by an electric motor powered by a battery. Any leased EV that falls satisfies the broad requirements and is less than 14,000 pounds would be eligible for the $7,500 credit.

Fox News Digital previously reported that at least 10 senior Biden administration officials have been hired to their current or former positions after stints at the Penn Biden Center, including current Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Colin Kahl and White House counselor Steven Richetti. Blinken and Richetti both served as managing directors while Kahl was a strategic consultant at the center.

Since the Penn Biden Center opened, the University of Pennsylvania has come under a microscope over its influx of foreign donations, particularly from China.

Penn took in roughly $77 million in gifts and contracts from China between 2014 and 2020, The Daily Pennsylvanian previously reported. Further, the Washington Free Beacon noted that foreign donations to the university tripled in the two years following the Biden Center's opening in 2017, with most of the money coming from China.

Penn also struggled to explain a $3 million donation from 2019 from a Hong Kong shell company tied to Chinese national and businessman Xu Xeuqing. A university spokesperson previously said the donation came from Chinese national Xin Zhou, but the Free Beacon reported it could not identify a connection between Xin and Nice Famous Corporation Limited, where the gift originated.

The university has also received at least $12.8 million in gifts from China between March 2020 and June 2022, according to a review of the Department of Education's foreign gift reporting database. Additionally, the university reported at least $2.8 million in China contracts between July 2020 and January 2022.

Everything you just said is pure common sense and logic. There is only one reason why it is not happening, never has happened and never will happen. Your voted for government is the only thing/people that can make what you said come true. Once again, we see another glaring example of the voted for government working for it's self and not the people that voted for them.

Do you ever wonder how long Americans are gonna put up with things like this?????????

And the answer is-----------forever, as long as stupid people keep voting for stupid greedy a-holes.  And NO, these people will never be voted out because of what I just said------- stupid people keep voting for stupid greedy a-holes.

Because we believe that the Judiciary Committee has
reported to the full House of Representatives term limits
legislation which is anti-democratic, we dissent.
Term limits are anti-democratic. They impair without
recourse a fundamental right of people to vote for whomever
they choose. ``If somebody came up to me and said you have to
vote for this person, I would be offended. I would say you
don't understand democracy. Now, I fail to see the difference
between someone coming up and saying you cannot vote for this
person. I would say you don't understand democracy, either.''
Chairman Henry Hyde, House Judiciary Committee, Judiciary
Committee's Subcommittee on the Constitution's Term Limits
Hearing, February 3, 1995, at pages 7-8. We agree with Chairman
Hyde's assessment.
Term limits are completely unnecessary. Congressional
turnover is not low. The reelection rate for incumbents who
seek reelection has been over time high, (between 1790 and 1988
the incumbency return rate was less than 70% only seven times)
but an important indicator rarely mentioned by term limits
supporters is that many incumbents have not sought reelection.
As a result, slightly more than half (52 percent) of the
current Members of the House were initially elected in 1990 and
thereafter. In the 103d Congress, 72% of the House and Senate
Members were elected in 1980 and after.

Bipartisan bill would withhold pay for president, lawmakers during shutdowns

A group of House lawmakers on Tuesday introduced a bipartisan bill that would withhold pay from the president, vice president and members of Congress during a government shutdown.

Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) joined Reps. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) and Max Rose (D-N.Y.) in introducing the measure.

{mosads}The lawmakers said in a statement announcing the legislation, known as the Solidarity in Salary Act of 2019, that the bill aims to “prevent and limit the duration of future shutdowns and ensure that lawmakers feel the harm they cause federal employees when they fail to fund the government.”

“Federal workers don’t get paid during a government shutdown. Neither should politicians,” Golden said in a statement. “This legislation will help prevent the American people from being political pawns for party leaders and help return sanity to the task of funding the government.”

Under the legislation, daily pay for the president, vice president and lawmakers would be in escrow during a shutdown. The withheld pay would then be released after the government reopens.

Crenshaw said that “federal employees should never have to carry the burden caused by a dysfunctional government.”

“We should have to feel the very real effects of a shutdown, just as our fellow federal employees are forced to do,” he added.

About 800,000 federal workers missed two consecutive paychecks during the 35-day shutdown, the longest in U.S. history. They are slated to receive back pay in the coming days.

More than a million federal contract workers stopped receiving income due to the shutdown, according to The Washington Post. Some of the lowest-paid contract workers who aren’t guaranteed back pay for their unpaid services during the closure say they are struggling to pay their bills.

“Only in a town as broken as Washington do you still get paid when you don’t do your job,” Rose said. “That’s wrong, and it’s past time to make it right.”
