Mary R. Blose, age 78 of DuBois, PA went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

 

Born on July 4, 1944 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Eva (Hayes) Marshall.

 

Mary wed her first husband Donald R. Krach on December 18, 1964. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1978. Mary then wed Leon S. Blose on July 4, 1980. He survives.

 

Mary retired from the DuBois Area School District as the head cook at Juniata Elementary School and was a school bus driver for many years. She was a Girl Scout leader and the bus driver for the Sykesville Leopardetts for many years. When her kids marched with the group, Mary’s nickname became Evel Knievel from the members of the marching group.

 

Mary was  a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Luthersburg, PA,  a member of the over 50 Club, had been an auditor for Brady Township and was a member of the Luthersburg Union Cemetery Board.

 

Mary had a big heart and always helped anyone that she could. She will be missed for her cooking and friendliness. She always helped out at her  church and loved listening to the Polka Party on Sunday.

 

Along with her husband, Mary is survived by her children; Eva (Bud) McKee of Olanta, PA, Libby (Steve) Wingert of Luthersburg, PA, Mark Krach of Luthersburg, PA , Linda (Mike) Boylan of Cortland, NY, and Donnie (Dee) Krach of DuBois, PA. She is also survived by her loving caretaker Janet Shuttlesworth of Reynoldsville, PA, her grandchildren; John (Mindy) Wingert, Denelle (Andy) Vasbinder, Preston (Erica) McKee, Brandon (Haley) Stahlman, Nikki (Brandon) Delhunty, Samantha (Evan) Snyder, Andrew Stahlman, Colby Krach, Casey (Brooke) Krach, Brittany Krach, Jeremy (Erin) Boylan and Jeff (Nicole Ott) Boylan, her sisters; Dorothy (William) Lawson and Anna Dush, her sisters-in-law; Donna Marshall, Elaine Marshall and Lois (Tink) Gould.

 

She was preceded in death by her brothers Chet Marshall and Howard Marshall and her in-laws Dan and Helen Blose.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM and Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 11 AM – 1 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 1 PM from the funeral home with Pastor Richard Hertlein officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Luthersburg Union Cemetery.                            

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of DuBois, 108R North Second Street, Clearfield, PA 16830 and St. Peters Lutheran Church, PO Box 43 Luthersburg, PA 15848.
