Fentley B. Shenkle, age 89 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Shadyside Hospital surrounded by his family.


Born on November 28, 1935 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Fentley R. and Ruth (Brooks) Shenkle.


On November 29, 1958, he married the love of his life, Lois (Johnson) Shenkle. They just celebrated 66 years of marriage. Lois Survives.


Fentley retired as a Vice President of S&T Bank in 1996 after a 41-year career in banking . After his retirement,  he went to work for the son of one of his lifetime friends, Bob, at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. as the hearse driver for many years.


He was an active firefighter and lifetime member of the DuBois Volunteer Fire Departments Volunteer Hose Company #1 for 70 years.


Fentley was a lifetime member of the Christ Lutheran Church, loved woodworking and golfed for many years.  He was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan and was very involved with his kids and grandkids activities. His family was the most important thing to him in his life, along with his dog Abby, that he lost a couple of years ago.


Fentley will be sadly missed  by his family and friends.


Along with his wife, Fentley is survived by his children (Cheryl Clyde and her husband Bill, Amy Rodgers and her husband Dan, and Brooks Shenkle and his wife Tracy), his grandchildren (Chad Roy and his wife Beth, Shawn Roy, Emily Gardner and her husband Nick, Erik Rodgers, Katie Seidle and her husband Brad, and Devon Shenkle and his wife Rachel, great grandchildren Jack, Lili, Anna, Jase, and Ryan Roy, Willow Roy, Scarlett and Cain Gardner, Audrey and Isaac Seidle, and Leland and Cayde Shenkle.


Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 4 - 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.


A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11 AM from Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor John Miller officiating.


Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.


Memorial donations may be made to Christ Lutheran Church 875 Sunflower Dr., DuBois, PA 15801, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or a charity of the donor's choice.
