I am assuming that after 12 delays, the Federal Court hearing for Suplizio and Shaffer will occur today. I have seen no news reports on it. If anyone would get information on it, providing it does occur, a post on here would be appreciated.

Might make sense on the Fed's part....bankrupt him and then indict him for every possible crime there is and put him away in the same cell as Jerry Sandusky.  Yes/no?

All they have is time. Eventually he won’t have money to continue and they can get him to take a plea deal which will still be a big sentence

I don't have a dog in this race:  I know people on both sides, and some very well on both sides.  Everyone deserves their day in court and are innocent until proven otherwise.

I also know people on both sides. And regardless of what comes out of this situation. There are very crooked people on both sides. The question is whether or not they continue to be allowed to get away with it

I agree with what you say. HOWEVER. If in fact the accused (and some of their believers) are truly innocent, then why would they keep delaying? Then they could say "I told you so".

This is the world we live in. It's frustrating that people like me (and you), that work every day, are good citizens, and do the right thing (which I have determined is never the easy thing) can't withdraw $600 of our own money without raising a red flag. Yet $1.5 million (and yes, I realize this is allegedly & everyone deserves their day in court...but C'mon!-is it ever coming?) and a person can plop $93K in cash on a desk at the City Building of City money that was stashed above a ceiling...and this is the way our judicial system responds? So, we find ourselves in the dark-still. The sad legacy of Dubois continues. No one is accountable. No answers to the taxpayers that work hard every day. I have hope for our country with Trump & Elon Musk exposing the waste & corruption; do you think we could have DOGE come to Dubois???

Like i have mentioned on another social media page. If the followers (the Hermites) truly believe he is innocent , then why doesn't he and the Hermites demand their day in court?

UNDATED – The Federal case against former City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio and former city employee Roberta “Bobbie” Shaffer has been given a “final” delay until June.

According to court documents, the timeline to file pre-trial motions has been delayed by the courts  in a “final extension until June 3rd, 2025.”

This extension will give the defense time to investigate the facts and review discovery materials.

Suplizio and Shaffer are accused of allegedly stealing around $1.5 million dollars in city funds between 2008 and 2022.
