Polo
This happens to me a lot. I'm heading to DuBois from Falls Creek and getting on the four lanes near Falls Creek Sheetz where one needs to merge in with the oncoming traffic. I slow down because I see lots of traffic heading into DuBois and they are using both lanes, but I do not stop. I just put my signal on and continue slowly in my lane waiting to to merge in. Then the guy ahead of me stops! He is supposed to continue slowly as well, but he stops! Glad no one was behind me! I would have gotten nailed. And glad I'm paying attention to him so I can stop in time! Now tell me if I am right. When seeking to enter the 4 lane, you proceed even if it is at a slow pace waiting to merge into the oncoming traffic at that area. You don't stop or you could get nailed in the butt. I get so ticked when folks just stop and wait. Most of the time, someone from the oncoming lane moves over for you. Worst scenario, you may have to stop up at the end when the merge lane is gone, but I have never ever had to do that in all my years. This really bothered me today, and I just had to vent. Petee
Yes, our daughter was driving our new van right at that intersection and that happened to her. You should stay back a bit till you can merge safely. I would only stop if there was a steady line clear past the Sheetz. Sooner or later that light will change and there will be an opening but sometimes there is no way to merge for a bit. In that kind of location, everyone has to give a little room. Polo
BigT
At least the ramp is longer now than many years ago. Today's drivers are to distracted so I trust no one! Polo
Constitutionalist
So you get mad at someone doing the correct thing? That is a yield interchange.. sometimes you have no choice but to stop. Sorry you get inconvenienced a bit with traffic.

You do not stop when you are in the lane waiting to merge. You continue to proceed even if it is very slowly. BillyC

Yes, you stay in your lane until it is safe to merge, but you keep moving even if it is at a snail's pace. BillyC

But that lane doesn't last forever. Or are you riding the berm when/if you run out of lane?

I get what your saying, but run into the side of the car that is in their lane and see who gets the citation. It happened to me and the driver that didn't yield the right of way got a citation. Pappy
Those that are traveling in those two lanes have the right of way and if they are bumper to bumper there is no way to merge you have to stop if you are at the end. It is either that or drive into the side of a vehicle. They do not have to let you in although I try and move over to the left if I can to let the person from falls creek in. My issue with that section is the left lane and people flying up and trying to get a car two ahead. There is a sign that says no passing this point on or something like that but I always see people flying up the left lane faster than the speed limit and try and get in. I was at the end one time and then saw a truck in the left lane flying up and he was about up to my back door, sorry the lines had ended and I wasn't hitting my brakes and getting rear ended I just kept going as I was traveling at the speed limit or a few miles above I had cars in front of me and behind and the guy behind me did not let him in. He had to pull over to the left at the end or be driving into oncoming traffic. I am not sure how fast he was going as I did not see anyone over there before and after that sign I just keep driving. Anyone from the area knows that lane ends and those that don't should read the signs. Also I love how people do not know left from right. Going towards Brockway the sign say right lane ends before it turns to two lanes. I always see people who are in the left lane move over to the right lane after this sign. I mean DUH you were in the correct lane to begin with. I just have to laugh at the stupidity. fedup and Lizard
Polo
Some folks are misunderstanding me. My pet peeve is that people stop right away when trying to merge into the oncoming traffic going into DuBois. They don't slow down and proceed slowly still in their lane waiting for an opportunity to move over into the oncoming traffic. Yes, you do need to stop up at the end if no one let you in! I just get upset when I am proceeding into the lane waiting to merge and the person in front of me stops right at the beginning! It's a recipe for disaster! Try that on the interstate merging lane or anywhere and you are going to get hit in the rear! My dad was a trucker and warned me about that many times! I should have explained myself better perhaps. If no one moves over or is unable to move over because both lanes are full, then you eventually have to stop. But at the end, not the beginning! Pappy
Polo you don't drive an orangeish car by any chance. I moved error let a guy slide into the main road from falls creek and he must have been doing 60 or better. I had a car on front of me and didn't that guy try and pass me and we were at the end of the road. I just m over over and figured if I hit him I hit him he was behind my back door. Then he pulled over to the left and I thought he was going to try and paste there after all the grass ended. I may never move over again. He was going way to fast and let's just say he got the California hello. I was pissed he was such and idiot. If he was late for work he should have left 5 minutes earlier. I was hoping he would have followed me and then try and get out out of his car. I would have gave him an earful. I was nice enough to move over and he was being an ass Polo

I drive a truck and its not orange. And yes, I get what you are saying. I have had similar things happen to me at that spot as well. That's my second pet peeve for that area. And its usually some young guy that thinks he owns the road. Pappy
