That bunch of anti Americans is bad but they can't hold a candle to the voted for. You know things are really bad when your own government is spending your money and time protecting invaders as they rip this country apart. Seadog and Polo 2

No one is perfect and there are a lot of folks out there who feel they have been done wrong at one time or another. Me, I have no complaints. But if I ever do, I'll say so. Corruption is everywhere. Wherever you have people, you will have corruption. Yes, we had a lawyer from State College who said he had never experienced the nonsense that he did while dealing with us that he found here.

You have to have some way to measure and compare education systems across our country. I cant you how many kids I've known who ripped through high with all As, but discovered quickly they were well behind a majority of their college classmates, especially if the went to bigger universities that attracted students from all over the country. On a personal note, although I thought most of high was fairly easy, our math classes were brutal. I was happy with Cs and the rare B, with the occasional D or F tossed in. Due to those grades, I thought my desired field of study would be a no go. However, standardized testing always put me in the high 90th percentiles. College placement testing put me in the top 5% of my college class, which allowed me skip almost all of the required maths. Fortunately, I had a few teachers, including the math advisor, encourage me to follow my goals. Without the standardized testing, I probably would have selected a different career path. Of note, I also tested out of all freshman English classes, so maybe those 'easy As were earned. The bottom line is high school grades mean very little. Your As may not compare favorably to the B student who had student who had more rigorous high school courses. Ulimately, for kids that move from the area, their competition for college and jobs is national. As a parent, I needed to know how my kid's education compared to others across the state and country, not just to local schools. If my kid was acing every high school class but was scoring 'average' on standardized tests, I considered that a problem. Now, standardized tests could be made optional for students. Why waste time for kids who are not interested and will blow it off anyway. Serious students are going to take those tests as serious as any other. Not all kids are suited for anything other than General Math Skills. Although they should definitely be introduced to Advanced Math, to push them beyond just to raise test levels is ridiculous. Tech students need all the higher basics. Even farm kids planning to follow that skill need higher computer and math skills today along with AG education. Farming today is complicated. Kids need to be introduced to jobs much earlier in their lives than they are today so they have at least a little clue as to what they might choose to do as a vocation. Lots of kids graduate with absolutely no idea and founder around till they fall into something that pays the bills. Gee, that's something that a dedicated School Counselor might be great at. When I asked about college information, I was aimed at a shelf of books and told to look for what I wanted. I just left the office. Polo 1
fedup Posted October 16 Author Posted October 16 Who or what is supposed to be running this country, a useless liberal judge from California, or a voted for polly? Once again, a liberal judge is mucking up our country. If that liberal SOB wants to fix this country he,she can start by forcing the lazy liberal congress crud to go back to work Seadog and Polo 2

I lay down for a much needed nap in the afternoon. Woke up and found out that the liberals managed to stick, at least one, of their feet into a grave. WOW It's amazing how some human beings get dumber by age. Took awhile for me to figure it out but I did. Had to go back to Woodstock as a starting place. Pot, LSD, mushrooms and Boones farm wine. Even Mother Natures best couldn't survive that with out burning way too many brain cells. Hell, the Liberals that are left ain't fit enough to run out of a store with just one bottle of Geritol and a bottle of purple hair dye. So hang on folks, there is hope, not all of us old folks forgot how to quit the candy years ago, our minds a still working pretty good, at times. I think I might enjoy watching the new young ens take back our country from the liberal losers. Basset3 1
