Polo
If you are looking for the guys who cut the big limbs and go up the tree to do it, I have used a few with good results. One is A & R Tree Removal and Trimming in Reynoldsvlle, and Boleen Tree Service in Brockway. Not sure of pricing, its been awhile since they worked for me. The Amish also have tree cutters/trimmers who are reasonable in cost. You can ask one of them whom they recommend. They all know who does what in their communities. disgruntled
Petee
Duttry has the equipment and knows how to do about anything you need done. I also have a guy who takes them down with a machine. He took down about 20 from our yard last year, cut it up, piled it, smoothed the disturbed ground, moved a small building for us, created a small road for us to the lower part of our property and a lot more. He's lovely to work with, and because my husband works every day, he worked directly with me. I've had men actually ask to talk to my husband to see if what I wanted done was OK. needless to say, they didn't get the job. This guy is also local. 814-590-6298 He can do about anything you want done. I give him the very highest recommendation!

Petee
You might want to talk to the electric company about that one. They should do it for free.

I've safely (meaning I didnt kill/injure myself or damage property) cut down dozens of trees of various sizes, but there quite a few I look at and say 'oh h3ll no!'. Tree cutting is a dangerous activity. Even a small one can lead to disaster. fedup

People get offended by the dumbest things. 95 out of 100 times, the tree cutting dude works with man/husband. I suppose the next time I go in and tell the salesperson I am repainting, need furniture, or need new curtains for the man-cave and they ask my wife what interests her, I should stomp out of the store in a hissy fit. Dont forget proper hydration in this heat. 6-pack of Bud Light should do it. fedup and Lizard 1

Asking an opinion is one thing, but basing a business deal based on the sex of the person asking is stupid especially when the one making the deal has the MONEY!! disgruntled
I've used A&R multiple times. Highly recommended. He may cost a little more (I never really compared) but this is certainly one of those instances where you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay a bit more and get the job done safely and correctly. So have I and he does a great job. I had a mature ornamental hybrid tree badly in need of trimming and our regular landscaper would not touch it, as too high. A&R did and did it correctly (as a point of reference, we have a certified arborist come in to properly fertilize our ornamentals. He takes a walk through to assess condition of everything. A&R got a positive. disgruntled and Pappy

I am sure it goes beyond the sex of the person waving money in their face. I have been told stories by various contractors, landscapers, carpet guys, etc where they have started projects that were changed by the wife/husband without consulting their spouse. The husband thinks he agreed to new carpeting for the living room only to find all flooring in the house ripped for hardwood. Or, the wife comes home to a footer being dug for a 2 story 3 car garage beside the house when she thought a simple 3 bay pole building was agreed upon in the back of the property. Every contractor type person I know has stories of getting caught in the middle of spouse conflict when one changed the plan while not telling the other. The tree dudes were probably just covering their a$$ making sure both spouses agreed. Your money waving just isnt worth landing in the middle of a potential spousal disagreement. There are other jobs without that stressor. Still beginning to think I should have stomped out in a hissy fit after I stated I was remodeling my space and then spent 30 minutes explaining exactly what I wanted, only to have the saleswoman turn to my wife and ask her what she wanted for my space. How sexist is that! A man can't design his own space to meet his needs? I should have been so offended, a victim. Petee
I would never mind if a worker asked politely if my husband had any other questions or suggestions but to just bluntly say he would not do it unless my husband approved, he can go away. I can find another worker. I always do. Pappy
