rnetzlof Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 I drove by the Scout office today. Surprise! The building looked like the attached photo (Google from June 2025). Poking around on da Web it appears the scout office is now at camp Mountain Run. What's happening? Polo 1
Petee Posted September 13, 2025 Posted September 13, 2025 When the national Boy Scouts lost the lawsuit about the kids being molested, instead of the national higher ups paying the bill, they divided it up among all of the groups all over the United States and THEY have to pay an enormous amount to pay for what the top people allowed to happen. Therefore, you will not see the program again as it was before. Polo 1

Petee Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 I love how they skirted around the biggest contributing factor. Yes, scouting has been dwindling over the years, but I think it's because they are not morally challenged to respect God. Like Charlie Kirk was awakening college students and they responded to the secret to a good life, the scouts need moral leaders to raise them above the world and teach them the love of truth and HONOR!! I know there were many great leaders out there but their hands were tied by lack of great support from the head office. Teaching a kid how to make a fire is a critical skill, but teaching him who created fire. Then you have given them a forever skill. Jackson, Polo and BigT 2 1
Polo Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 My family was heavily involved in scouting back in the day before all of the woke stuff started happening. I'm thankful we are beyond that now. There was a badge which our scouts earned that took place at the church and was headed by the Pastor, called "God and Me." It was a wonderful class, and was very beneficial to the boys. Not one kid or family complained about taking the classes. Even those who did not attend church regularly. I am not sure if they still do that badge or not these days. I do know that our church has a scout pack and troop that is still very strong with some fine leaders, and our Pastor is involved. There are also many other churches that still sponsor the scouts. BigT 1
Polo Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 I heard who was moving into the old scout building but forgot. Can anyone refresh me on who?
BigT Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 Dr. Henninger owns the property from I see online. Polo 1
rnetzlof Posted September 17, 2025 Author Posted September 17, 2025 Perhaps he is setting up a branch office against the possibility that DuBois and Rumbarger will deconsolidate?
