Bigger isn't always better.  Why can't local industry fill in jobs for out-of-state owners.  The local people need to be more competent to start business.  Local farmers have adjusted to selling their crops very well.  Some of them have half million dollar equipment but they traveled for the training and business acumen.  Now they are very well off.

A local Century Farm was inherited by a family member who has done pretty much nothing to keep it producing.  That's what causes shortages, people taking out more than they produce or wasting assets by not using their foresight.  Getting by should not be the norm, excelling should be.

Where did our local sense of building for the future go?  The person who had Paris did it, why can't others.  Where is the training that locals need to learn how to grow a business?  Penn State wasn't it.  Our high schools aren't it, where did the job training and apprenticeships go?  Our leadership sucks.
