Polo Posted January 8 Posted January 8 So, has anyone tried the new sub place by Big Lots? I have been wanting to but didn't make it yet. The pictures of the sandwiches look good, and the commercials on T.V. look good. Not mentioning the name, but local folks know it.

Petee Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Where beside Big Lots? The internet just says on Shaffer Road.
Constitutionalist Posted January 9 Posted January 9 It’s beside dollar general in the plaza. No idea why the news couldn’t get their story right. Polo 1
Petee Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Oh! Up in the Commons. Clear back when they were writing about the Big Lots closing beside Staples, and Michaels becoming the Ollies, they couldn't get it right. That's not even on Shaffer Road! The plaza is where Sarveys and Jersey Subs is, below the Commons, on the Bee Line.
Harvey Mungaknuts Posted January 9 Posted January 9 No the other plaza. Sandy plaza. It is Firehouse Subs.

Polo Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 Thanks, all, for clarifying. Let me know if you try the subs.
Petee Posted January 9 Posted January 9 A pickle! Yeah! Really good subs always come with a pickle, like Bob's in Brookville. Polo 1

It is Firehouse Subs. my wife just got subs there two nights ago. She really liked it. I thought it was ok. Did not have an opinion one way or the other. I would have to try another type of sub. She got me a meatball and while the meatballs were good wasn't impressed with the bun. Like I said I will try an Italian next time to see how it is but like I said she really liked hers and so did my son. Polo 1

I have never gotten a pickle with my subs from Bob's in Brookville. Firehouse gives you a full length pickle cut in two quarters I believe. My memory is going but that was really good as i love dill pickles Polo 1
L8RG8R Posted Tuesday at 04:41 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:41 PM Firehouse Subs is fantastic. Saying that, the one in DuBois is the worst one I have ever eaten at. Try one of the other locations if you want to truly enjoy their subs. Pappy and Polo 1 1
Polo Posted Tuesday at 05:57 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 05:57 PM Thanks, all, for the info. While we are on the sub subject, I want to say I have tried the subs at Epic Pizza near the Cinema and they are excellent. The buns are made from a pizza-like dough and taste homemade. I had the italian one and also the steak. I also love their pizza. Prices are reasonable, too. I still have not made it to Firehouse Subs yet.
Petee Posted Tuesday at 09:02 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:02 PM It's right near Hobby Lobby! Hubby saw it the other night when we were headed to Lowes.
