Pappy Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Heinz ketchup 19.2 ounce the small bottles. I tried getting the lids off and no such luck. I went to my garage and grabbed a 12 inch pipe wrench and still could not get them open. I do not know what they used on those lids but they need to patent it. The only thing I did was squeeze it enough where it blew ketchup out but the lid did not come off. So i guess I can use it now but I will have to wipe all the dirt off the lid off from the pipe wrench. The other two I have I will just have to punch a hole through the seal or just throw them away I have bigger bottles down in the basement. Seriously why put them on that tight. Ridiculous. and have a good day Polo and Bon 2
Pappy Posted March 23 Author Posted March 23 I had my son try it and he could not get the lid off either using his hands and then the pipe wrench.
Petee Posted March 23 Posted March 23 They use the same method that Downey does to put the caps on their fabric softener. I've tried everything and finally now resort to dropping it onto the lid repeatedly till I can get it open. Pappy 1

That sounds like a fun little show to watch.. how many have exploded all over with that method? Pappy and Bon 1 1
Polo Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I thought I was just a weakling. Glad to hear it has happened to others! Although it really makes it hard to get that last little bit of ketchup out, and if that's all you have left in the house, it really matters! Pappy 1

I worried about it but after not being able to do the laundry, I figured it was worth a try. I drop it from about a foot off of the floor onto a concrete surface. It takes about 4-5 tries before it gives up. It's the largest bottle they sell, so I suppose it would make quite the mess! Pappy 1

The larger bottles are no problem for some reason it is just the smaller ones. I am like you I like to use all of it. I turn it upside down to get it all down to the opening. Waste not Want not. Petee Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I pour half of the biggest bottle into another one half the size. Then I put enough water in it to fill the bottle about 3/4 full. It works fine and doesn't clog the softener dispenser. We have hard water so this works just fine. II used to have to take the filter out and use a couple of special brushes to clean the softener gunk out. Now it stays clean and the laundry still smells good. Pappy 1
