According to a story on WTAJ’s website, most on the missing money, 1/4 million dollars, came from the firemen’s community days accounts and the parade account, about $150,000 and $100,000. That money was probably donated by the people and businesses of the DuBois area and could easily be manipulated.
Puts a pall over consolidation and fund raising effort for fire department. Are these funds intact?

There was a bar in the basement of the Pershing Hotel that Tom Kalgren owned - on the Long Av side - in the 70s I believe. The name is escaping me.

Do you mean the leaves or the tomatoes?
Leaves. Exactly 2 tomatoes ripened on each plant. Rest remain green.
-
Only 2 tomatoes ripened on my plants. Rest stayed green. Now bottom has yellowed and is turning black. Is this the blight? Should I pick the green tomatoes or will they eventually ripen?

Actually, you would be surprised how much history this area has. In fact Jan Nichols cataloged it in two volumes several years ago, I am sure the Library has these books and encourage you to check them out.
I had local history many moons ago with Mr. Thompson and it was one of my favorite classes and I know that Mr. Kilmer has a wealth of information on the subject and I am sure does a wonderful job with the class now. There are a lot of wonderful local history teachers at the school now and wonder which one of them will put their mark on the class after Mr. Kilmer retires.

Yes, We took our 5 th grade students at Oklahoma for several years on a field trip to Historic sites in Dubois Area with Jan Nichols as our host. My fellow colleague and I were honored to be mentioned in her book as friends of local history in the classroom. Also my daughter loved Mr. Thompson. She said he was the best teacher she ever had. He rode his horse to school the last day of his school career. I have pictures.

What about those planters that hang upside down on your deck and the plants look like they are inside some type of plastic bag. They had them advertised for tomatos, but now they have strawberries too. Has anyone had any luck with them? Are the tomatos good?
JUst bought one yesterday for tomatos. They did have strawberries and red hot peppers. Hope they work.

How about this?
You old burned out Hippee!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHA! Takes one to know one!

Well, there might be a chance of doing cuttings from the mother plant. Other than that you might try E Bay but it would be a houseplant here that would probably like to spend the summer on a deck.
That's where she keeps it. I bet the deer here at TReasure Lake would love it. It is gorgeous though..

My good friend that lives in Florida recently got a Firecracker Plant. It is gorgeous! Do any of you expert gardeners know whether it could flourish this far North? I want one so badly!
