  1. You can announce that you had one later. You can discus items but cannot make decisions.
  2. Jen Jackson has already said that she will pass on the insurance and will donate her salary. I will check on the others. I think more questions will be asked on how the insurance program was added for the DuBois Council since it should of been publicized .
  3. No. Most Townships or cities do not offer it because of the cost to taxpayers.
  4. True it will make the DuBois Council position more desirable.(Especially paid deductible) Too bad it was a secret benefit that was not publicize. Depending on how the health care benefits were added to the council it might have broke laws.
  5. The council members are not considered employees plus Sandy Township does not offer health benefits to their supervisors.
  6. Sandy Township Supervisor Kevin Salandra was one of the first to recognize the city finances were not right. During the consolidation process the last year he continued to ask hard questions that the city refused to answer. DuBois Council then conspired to have him (and township manager Shawn Aubaugh) removed from the consolidation process by unilaterally picking a new Transitional Committee.( Toni Cherry was chosen to be on this new Committee.) Mr Salandra is on the ballot this May for reelection. Please choose wisely on who will best represent Sandy Township.
  7. If you gave to the United Way then your money went to a Charity called the City of DuBois. Why would anyone now donate money to the United Way when the city solicitor can go collect money at will.
  8. Plus what is the deal with a $100,000 coming from the United Way last week via Toni and being placed in a DuBois city account?
  9. Waste Management's payments to Sandy Township benefits all the taxpayers since it is part of the yearly budget. Not sure who in DuBois City first decided to use the money as a unaudited piggy bank.
  10. Should be a interesting Council work session on Thursday.
  11. Plus Supervisor Salandra has been saying for years that something was rotten in the DuBois City government.
  12. If Herm had a contract as manager of Sandy Township, he would of been fired last April and no legal fees paid. Only a corrupt organization would pay his legal fees.
  13. For where? 10 year contract for DuBois signed in 2018 Seniors in the city currently pay $12.50 per month, while seniors in Sandy Township pay $18.80 and $17.50 in Reynoldsville. Regular residential customers pay $19.50 per month in the city, the same as in Reynoldsville; Sandy Township residents pay $21.80 per month. https://www.thecourierexpress.com/tri_county_sunday/dubois-city-residents-to-see-garbage-rate-increase/article_1a8b0936-42ef-58c5-aca7-60bbac576371.html
  14. No. The casino licenses were auctioned so there would of been no reason to do anything but bid on it.
  15. This is small potatoes compared to the money that allegedly is gone!
  16. Especially complaining about having a property she owns reassessed. Many property owners have done that and you are stupid not to do it.

  18. No mention of the $60,000 yearly garbage payments to the city that the should of been placed into a city account for disbursement.

  20. The Sandy Township Board of Supervisors and Municipal Authority will hold their Regular Meeting at 7:00 PM on April 3, 2023, at the Sandy Township Municipal Building located at 1094 Chestnut Avenue, DuBois, PA. The meeting will be open to the public. The meetings can also be accessed by dialing 814-371-1815, Pin No. 223344. https://sandytownship.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/3Apr2023-BOS-Agenda.pdf
  21. According to testimony from DuBois's Finance Officer the garbage payments went directly into the community days account which the finance officer stated the city did not review any of the community days account and were not included in the City's computerize financial system. The auditors only pulled info that was included in the computerize financial system.
  22. #1 Sandy Township Platt Road Wastewater Collection and Conveyance Project. #2 Funded by loans plus grants $278,435 funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission will combine with state and local money to extend public sewer access to 4 new businesses and 93 households in Sandy Township. HUD announces $875,000 Loan Guarantee for Pennsylvania Wastewater Collection and Conveyance Project Dec. 22, 2022 • Original Press Release WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today announced a $875,00 loan guarantee to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the Sandy Township Platt Road Wastewater Collection and Conveyance Project. The loan guarantee, offered through the Section 108 Loan Guarantee Program (Section 108), will be used to finance the extension of sanitary sewer lines to a 400-acre site that is proposed for new development in the Corbet Industrial Park. Though two businesses already operate in the park, they currently rely on temporary sewage disposal facilities, which are not sustainable and could deter or limit the growth of business. This project will benefit people with low- and moderate-incomes (LMI) by creating job opportunities. The loan requires that at least 51 percent of the full-time equivalent jobs are held by or made available to people with low and moderate incomes.
  23. The garbage contract was begun in 2008 and has been renewed twice. It runs out in 2028. At some point Advance Disposal started donating 60 grand a year to the city that the city kept in a non audited account. I think you are stuck with the current company. https://gantnews.com/2018/03/29/dubois-council-renews-advanced-disposal-contract/
