Please be nice to restaurant employees as well, some of them do not want to be there and if you happen to have delivery, please tip the driver! They are risking their lives to make sure you get your food!

My wife told me that her Great Grandfather W. W. Milliron owned Milliron Construction and she thinks in the 30's Milliron Constructioned built that building and it housed their business. She is not sure when they sold the building. But Milliron Construction built Mansell Stadium in DuBois and also the set of Stairs that goes up the hill from Route 255 at the intersection of Liberty Blvd.

The library?!?! That must have been the shortened "straight-line" route when cruising was starting to flatline.
Back in the early- to mid-80's, it was out of McDonald's with a right at Park, down to Shankel's and left up through town. Of course, that was when there were actually a few things, other than old-age homes, still in the downtown area.

The kid & I were talking about cruising & we were at the auto store & I walked him over & showed him how we would whip out of McDonald's with our cars side by side & cruise down & turn around at the library. His reply was, " we were lucky". Just the look on his face as he gazed down the boulevard & I explained that there were a few less stop lights on the route. I was so happy to have this experience with him & it was without a damn smart phone in his hand or hearing about the lastest meme.

As told by her mother Brandi...
So many of you have been wondering how Faith is doing. Thank you all for your thoughts prayers and support through this journey. Faith had a rough start since being brought into this world and been through more than most adults. She was born full term via c section due to being breech. Her head was under my ribs and she wouldn’t turn. When she came out she did pretty well Tuesday then on Wednesday she started having episodes of apnea. Her brain wasn’t sending signals to her lungs to breathe. She was put on a cpap then by Thursday she was placed on a ventilator. Friday we were told that she has trisomy 18, Edwards Syndrome which is a rare chromosomal defect. There is no cure, no fix, it just is. These babies have short life spans. They are lucky if they live past the first 6-9days of life.
By Saturday the ventilator was doing all the breathing for her and Deryk and I had to make a heart breaking decision. That’s not a life living on a vent for the rest of her days.
But our little girl wasn’t done fighting yet, she was not done living! The vent was discontinued, she opened her eyes and breathed! She was placed on monitors to track her oxygen, heart rate and respiration’s. We waited another week to see how she would do. No more episodes of apnea! We went through a week of education and learning how to care for once she came home. Our hope was restored! She would come home! Our Faith is now 2 weeks old and defying the odds! Our Faith is a true testimony that there is power in prayer! ❤️
I also have to say that the staff at Penn Highlands DuBois NICU and maternity are amazing people! We couldn’t have gotten this far without them! They went above and beyond their call of duty and made whatever accommodations for Faith, us and our family. They have been a God send for us and we are forever grateful to them. 💝

landfillguy              I was at a Steeler game vs Oakland back in the late 90's at the old Three River Stadium in Pittsburgh. Got to talking with a few young fellows from Oakland that flew in to watch the game. Keeping in mind that it was a pleasant fall day (temps in the low 50's) when one of the guys went to the restroom he come back and told his friends that the restrooms actually had heat in them. He was surprised about that. I told him that in some places in Pa we actually have running water as well.

Maryland natives Bryan and Andrea Loar have recently moved to the Curwensville area to operate their own farm.

Agriculture Technician Bob Edwards of the Clearfield County Conservation District said it is extremely rare for farmers from out of state to move to Clearfield County.

The Loars formerly operated a 165-acre beef cattle and hay farm in Thurmont, Md.
