Write in......VOTE OUT !!!.......YOU ALL KNOW

Was brought to my attention today that the sample ballot that is shown in our local paper only has 1 spot for a write in on both tickets. Both the Republican and Democratic incumbents are listed with just one space open after their names. It says to vote for no more than 2. Seems like they're forcing you to vote for an incumbent with only 1 write in. I do work at my local precient hall and i'm calling Clearfield in the morning to see if this can be explained. I.m sure they'll be lots of questions regarding this on Tuesday.

Once again it sounds like a few bad apples stirring up. Its a Veterans club for a reason. Its not a last choice social hall to go pound drinks.  If their is NO smoking, respect the rules. Dont try to change them for selfish reasons.  My family has served in service. My father was a 65 year VFW member and a 70 year American Legion member.  Veterans and families  of any war or service deserve a place to socialize after they are finished with serving our country. If you want to smoke and power drink, go to a local Ethnicity ( Polish, Italian, Slovak)  club or Sportsman club.  If its decendants of service members shame on you.

DuBois City Council is going into some kind of "Emergency" Executive Session in 10 minutes on this early Saturday morning. (9am)
I'm unaware of a time they've done this.on a Saturday.
Are they going to do the right thing for our City and terminate the services of our Solicitor and former city manager? (Cease payments too)
We are going to find out if they finally have the backbone to say enough.

When the post voted to stop indoor smoking, the drinkers stopped coming.  I suspect it was to pressure the post to open the smoking again which happened.  Unfortunately, the state finally stepped in, as they did before, and shut it down till they sort out the nonsense.
If it isn't going to serve the vets better who don't drink and smoke , then it doesn't need to exist at all.

There could be any number of reasons for this.  There have been other post closings due to low membership and not attracting today's vets.  Originally VFW posts were to be a place where vets could go and congregate with others in the same boat, not so much a place for drinking.  Also, financial reasons is another reason to close.  Investigations are another reason to close as well.  With recent local events, I think a lot of organizations have been awakened to the consequences of this type of thing.  Sometimes there needs to be a good house cleaning.  I imagine we will all hear about what is going on soon enough.

Jen Jackson has already said that she will pass on the insurance and will donate her salary. I will check on the others. I think more questions will be asked on how the insurance program was added for the DuBois Council since it should of been publicized .  

I've considered that as well. The other members (excluding Bernardo who was at some sort of game and could't or chose not to hear what was going on , as she was on speaker phone) just sat there with their heads bowed. It appears that Dietz has no idea what is going on. If you want to serve on any kind of board or committee you at least should have some sort of input. Whether you're running for re election or not. Otherwise you're just a puppet.

If you gave to the United Way then your money went to a Charity called the City of DuBois.Why would anyone now donate money to the United Way when the city solicitor can go collect money at will.

At the start of the council meeting tonight Shannon Gabriel made a motion to immediately remove Toni Cherry from her position and no one else would second her motion. Why is the rest of the afraid of her?

Plus i should add that she was asked by the council to not attend tonight.

That whole city council needs replaced , along with counselor and mgr....election day is coming fast , " Show them you mean business "....as one ad put it.
