  1. Such a visceral reaction.
  2. Waste of time. Stupidly worded statements. Only a person who presumes those statements are the current state would write them in that manner.
  3. None of the questions are worth answering. Should anyone dare to answer with anything positive, you would consider them to be stupid. I do feel a bit sad for you, but no doubt contributed highly to your situation. I feel sad for you that you think your life sucks and that you believe you don't count for anything. (Why else would you ask these questions?) Is my my life perfect? Probably not, but it far from sucks. I have a great wife of about 40 years, 3 great, successful kids, and some grandkids running around. Not rich, but financially sound. I don't have everything I want, but have more than I need. In reasonable good health, barring a few aches and pains and the general wear and tear of getting older. Have a modest number of (nearly) life-long friends with whom I can share a drink, meal, and a laugh or two. I may not matter much in the the grand scheme of things. Nothing I have done altered the history of mankind. Surely, within 50 years after my death I will be largely fogotten. However, at this time, I count for those people I call friends and family. And they count for me. No doubt you will call me delusional or some other attempt at a derogatory term. It matters not. You can wander off into your pit of gloom, doom, and woe.
  4. Generally speaking, an elected official with 'financial interests' does turn out too well.
  5. Assuming you would be permitted to buy more diesel.....
  6. Left/right, Rep/Dem are relections of each other through a circus mirror. I think God is disappointed in the lot us. Being at the extreme edges isnt a good thing. I do pick what I think is'good' vs 'bad'. However, starting from a neutral stance, I dont have to give in to a particular orthodoxy. I dont feel like I have 'betrayed' one side or the other. Just because I think my choice is good doesnt mean I think your side is bad or evil. I tend not to think in absolutes. And I freely admit I have chosen unwisely on many occasions and probaly will choose unwisely again in the future. Anyways, I have no more reason to think the youtubers and tiktokkers and 'independent media' have more trustworthyness than the mainstream media.
  7. I certainly can pick the middle. It allows me to not select a side. I dont need to pick a side, especialky when both sides make absolutely no sense and offer nothing more than hot air to try and convince me.
  8. Why should I believe the merry band of social media bloviators over the talking heads of mainstream media? Everyone has agenda and stands to make a few bucks off it.
  9. Actually, we will never know the truth. You either believe the national media or you believe the tik-tokkers and youtubers looking for likes and clicks (as well as the ones using just using it as another opportunity to show their t*ts). Neither is a reliable source of information.
  10. Few years ago, I built elevated beds. I call them troughs. The tops are about 3 ft in height. Soil depth is about 2ft. Thet are either 6, 8, or 10 ft long and 18 or 24 inches wide. At that height there is no bending over at all. They are screwed to each other, so no chance of tilting over. No moving them once filled. A trough can easily weigh over a ton, especially when wet.
  11. I have the perfect solution to this issue. Simply declare all sports unisex. Schools, colleges, and professional sports and even the Olympics can no longer have men's and women's teams or contests of any sort. Imagine the money that could be saved in high school and college sports. Only one basketball team, one volleyball team, one soccer team, one track team, etc. Problem solved.
  12. Could try JB Weld. Follow the directions, especially the clamping. I used it on an outdoor gate latch and it held for years.
  13. Owners probably getting close to retirement with no family willing to take over. Cant blame them for selling out to the highest bidder.
  14. $270,000 seems quite excessive. It is kind of a catch 22. Since he has not been proven guilty, let's assume he was operating within his contracted and legal capacity. He would expect the City to defend his actions as an employee. Of course, his tax evasion charges defense should be funded by him. If he is found guilty, part of his sentencing should be to pay back the city. I do find it concerning the AG and government can confiscate your assests before you are proven guilty. Freeze, yes. The solicitor was wrong to state the city was paying legal bills because he had no money. She made it sound as a personal thing.
