Hey LFG, I may be moving down your way. Thursday I was told that my group was being realigned and 15 of us would have no job come January 1st. That's almost half of us, my boss included! So needless to say, I'm frantically trying to find a job. There's a position in Augusta,  GA with my company that I applied to. Looks like Augusta is on the SC/GA border.  I'm not sure where you're at in SC, but if things transpire well then I may be your neighbor.

Besides sites like LinkedIn, Indeed, Monster, etc., are there any sites local to your general area?

My wife said if she has to move, it has to be South where it's warm!

Augusta is further south than me, basically due west of Columbia. That's a great area, plenty of business and things to do, but not a huge city like Columbia. Industry is booming all over the state right now. CareerBuilder has a lot of local listings, but I'm not sure as far as social sites

You would be very close to Lake Murray, a beautiful lake in Columbia

  2. They're around here. I noticed one in my backyard the other week.
  3. Wow, I have quite a few of those in the refrigerator right now! Honey, tomatoes, apples, green peppers, oranges, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, ketchup, grape jelly, pickles, and hot sauce!
  4. They sure did build some large buildings back in the day! Those are huge in all of the pics on this thread.
  5. This is awful news. Only 35 years young with two young children. going out to her family. Heaven just gained another member. She'll definitely will be missed by many, even those of us who never met her.

There's been almost 200 kids at VBS so far this week. Hopefully we can surpass 200 by the end of the week. Next year with the new Family Life Center completed, attendance should be even higher! VBS is from 9am-noon Thursday and Friday yet. During the 11am Sunday service, the children will be singing songs in front of the congregation that they learned this week. Following the 11am Sunday service, there will be a VBS Bash at the Beach (at TL's main beach) with games, food, face painting, snow cones, cotton candy, volleyball, and more. Hopefully the weather cooperates!
  7. If only our bucks looked like that in here!
  8. I think this was taken in TL a couple years ago. ??) There's nothing that you can't find on the internet these days! http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS6A9XmY39vyChEBrxuh9MyFjFanILjBDUSRhosfuIQV9kn1GHqruxciVsmkg
  9. I lost FIVE $20 bills in that rubber thing! I searched this whole house, all 3 vehicles, etc. and though and behold, several months later I found the rubber thing and 3 of the bills in decent enough shape to still use.
  10. There's a regular group of Bigfoot hunters who go out near Rockton and near the state parks. So far, nothing. Hey, at least it keeps them out of trouble.
  11. Great town..........been there, graduated from there! http://www.mvaapa.org/index.html If you want some good chips, head a little bit west on 522 into Middleburg to the Middleswarth Potato Chip factory.
  12. We have one of these. http://ts3.mm.bing.net/images/thumbnail.aspx?q=4586518969911090&id=9a607d348c0fc421c222513bde2069f3
  13. That's why I like Millionaire's Row in Williamsport. They have saved a lot of the older, nice homes. In the late 1880's, Williamsport had more millionaires per capita than anywhere else in the United States. That was due to the lumber boom. <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/PUmj_4nmmsY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="425" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yeiSjUSnayI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  14. I know nothing of this particular cemetery, nor do I know anything about how any other cemetery works. Aren't they supposed to be kept up like the one coming into town from TL? I see the lawn being cut there all the time. Like I said, I haven't had to deal with cemeteries yet so maybe there are different kinds that do not do the up keep. All the ones that I have been to where my grandparents and great-grandparents have been buried, are kept up by the workers. What do you guys expect Foxfan to do? Just weed and cut the grass around his great-grandparents two graves? :-/
  15. I'm not from around here originally, so I could be wrong, but by looking at that map on the link.....isn't that out in the middle of no where? It looks like it may be near the elementary school. How does a bicyclist or walker get from point A to point B now?
  16. ;D See the Smoke Marijuana and They'll Kill Your Dog thread!
  17. My in-laws' cat goes nuts if it cannot go outside! They have a cat door that he uses to come in and go out whenever he wants.
  18. I just had to look it up! Pregnancy women can become infected with a disease called Toxoplasmosis. This disease can be contracted from the feces of cats. If a human gets that infective form into the mouth, and swallows it, (or breathes it in in dust and swallows it) then they can be infected. It takes 48 hours for the the cat feces to become "active" -- so new cat poop isn't infective. If your cat happens to be infected and shedding, and you have never been infected, and you happen to be pregnant (but only during a specific time of pregnancy, not the entire 9 months) then your baby "might" be infected and "might" be damaged by that infection -- it is rare but it can be devastating. You are more likely to get the infection from undercooked meat, not from your cat! This is why it is recommended that pregnant women not scoop cat litter.
  19. Well my Hostas are back for the third time this year! I have doused them with Liquid Fence! Soon they will die, so hopefully the deer don't get them before then!
  20. I wish something could be done. The hunting areas in here are too remote and very few. It doesn't help that there are people in TL that intentionally FEED the deer.
  21. Okay, I was just thinking......the UPS and FedEx delivery men probably wouldn't like my ideas!
  22. After the first "All You Can Buffet" of hostas, they grew back. I have been spraying them with Liquid Fence religiously. Well after all the rain the past 2-3 days, it must have washed off. This morning when I left for work, all hostas were in tact. When I got home this afternoon, the STUPID deer ate them AGAIN. Does anybody know of a way to booby-trap the hostas? I'm thinking a motion sensor and a super high pressure water hose or maybe an electric shock (kind of like an electric fence). Something just to give them the hint to stay away!!!
  23. I couldn't imagine driving in here at night and have an elk standing in the middle of the road! That make a big thud!
