  1. That helps tremendously!! I walk passed it every day with my daughter and we were looking at the top half. So I was way off. Some of the headstones are so hard to read too. This at least gives me some direction! And lets me know that it does exist. The person asking for photos was not sure it even existed.
  2. Ok, I have someone requesting I take a picture of a headstone they aren't even sure exists located in Rumbarger Cemetery. Any one that cuts the grass up there...have you noticed a headstone for "Samuel B. Coyne" who died in 1906 ?? Or even a push in the right direction would be wonderful! Feel free to PM and thanks in advance!
  3. I noticed that today. It looks awesome! To whom ever put it up, good job!
  4. I only saw one bumble buzzing around today and he wasn't out for long. I think he's still trying to re-coop from being rocked by my husband's hat yesterday. That and the weather was cucky today.
  5. Bahahaha ;D Bees are the only thing I don't like about summer! I'll have to keep an eye out to see if there's a hole some where. do they only burr into wood? What about in the ground?
  6. After looking at the links I'm pretty sure it's a carpenter bee. ehh. Gives me the heebies just thinking about it! We ate outside tonight and hubby came in complaining about the bee on the back porch. He gave him a thud with his hat and the bee was temporarily trapped under it while he went to get a shoe but it flew out. He didn't come back after that, but I ate in a huff and didn't stick around. The wood we used for the deck was originally from a swimming pool deck. Not totally sure if it was treated at one point in time. The wood has to be about 20 years old, give or take. BUT. We are in the middle of remodeling the kitchen and cut wood outside on the back deck. There's tons of saw dust. Maybe that's what has him acting so crazy. ? I have seen two of the bumbles get in a tumble. But they are so quick I can't tell if it's the retard that was dancing over top of the deck or not. I'm not a huge fan of bees (never was) and my Dad is deathly allergic. I've never had any severe reactions from past stings, but I don't like taking my chances either! I'm glad others have seen this weird behavior and it just wasn't my pregnant mind playing a trick on me! I've been a little on the paranoid/over protective side as we get closer to the due date ;D
  7. When we moved into our house over a year ago, there was a flower bed next to the back porch. The porch was concrete and we have since built a deck over top. I dug up the bulbs and planted them out front. Now we have a huge bumble bee (those green/yellow ones) that just hovers over the deck. Do bumble bees go to the same flower bed year after year? It really seems like he's flying around scratching his head thinking to himself, "I KNOW there were flowers here...where the heck did they go?" I watched him for at least an hour yesterday. He'd fly off really quick and be back with in 5 minutes and just buzz around in a lazy circle. Very strange. There are other bumbles of the same kind and they aren't putting on this display of behavior. Weirdo. Is there any way to get him to go some where else? hubby says they won't bug you if you don't bug them...but my luck I'd walk out the back door and run right into him.
  8. I have never caught the cat in the act...but I have a pretty good idea which one it is. My husband is not fond of cats AT ALL. I am not so concerned with the cat pooping there (I'd rather it didn't!) but with being pregnant and I desperately need to pull the weeds out of there before the flowers bloom, it's driving me crazy! Plus I read some where that toxoplasmosis is most harmful the last 2-3 months of your pregnancy...which is right where I am at. I think it's crap that cats are allowed to roam free and poop or whatever...where ever they want to. I don't let my dog run the neighborhood to poop in your flower bed, why should your cat be allowed? Sounds like a double standard to me! I can't try any methods suggested until the bed gets cleaned out. The darn cat must check it every night b/c if there's old poo it will not go there for about 2 weeks. But if it's cleaned up every day or so, the cat poops there again. and again. I played that game last summer. It got old !
  9. I have a flower bed outside the front of the house by the porch. The neighborhood cats like to poop in it. Gross. Plus I am pregnant and I can't be breathing it anyways. What is a good deterant to keep them from pooping in there without being harmful to the flowers and our two dogs?
  10. We did water rapids at Ohiopyle in 2008. TONS of fun! We take our pups to Brown Springs to go swimming.
  11. Anyone else think that first photo has big foot walking on top of the semi?? Or am I losing it?
  12. I didn't realize there was once a stair case leading up to the statue on the hill. I couldn't picture the mansion where PSU is currently until that photo. Sorry PSU, but I'd much rather see the mansion and the beautiful garden still there! It's just proof that this town can't have anything nice :-/
