  1. Looks like maybe over by Burkes Parson Bowlby plant coming from Falls Creek
  2. Gardens on The Hill are doing great but some deer did jump the fence and pick off some greenbean plants that were doing great. Maters are growing very good and peppers are looking ok as well. Peas are getting bigger as well as sunflowers, cukes, pumpkins and corn. My 120+ hills of taters are up about a foot and lookiing great. Just gotta keep the hill critters away and everything should be fine. The rain sure has been good for the gardens here...
  3. Be carefull not to plant any type of willow near sewer or drain lines because the willow's roots will find their way in to the pipe if possible and plug them with roots. (especially older clay pipe) Just a note of caution! If possible, maybe you could run an additional french drain to catch the excess water and run it away from the area.....
  4. That might have been a little misleading. I dug them last fall and stored them properly and have been eating them for most of the winter. The small ones that are now left will probably be planted but I do buy seed taters to plant for my crop. I like Kenebeck (sp) and also plant a red tater as well. As for the salt shaker that is when I am out in the garden stealing a tater here and there without disturbing the whole plant while they grow.......
  5. I have some garlic coming up from last year that did not get harvested and it is now growing nicely. Can I leave it grow and will it make a new crop that is ok if left alone?
  6. Up until a few weeks ago we were still eating taters out of the garden. I love to plant them and love to dig them and love to eat them. Seems I always have a salt shaker with me while I dig a few hmmmmmmm
  7. Yes, you can quarter them etc. I usually buy seed potatoes and prefer Kenebec (sp) and also plant a red potatoe as well but I throw a whole potatoe in the hill instead of cutting them and have good luck that way. I was eating potatoes from the garden up till a few ago and finally ran out. Good luck
  8. I didn't see any little flea type bugs but WOW the flies are everywhere on the side of buildings etc.....
