Same as other employers, lack of employees. We were there yesterday, same good food and service as always.
  2. The problem begins with Pentax Run and gets worse when it runs into the Sandy Lick. From my past contact there appears to be issues between state agencies.
  3. That’s a small, independent church, very well meaning. I doubt any understand the insinuations in this thread.
  4. Current adjusted pushing 10%
  5. That is who he is and has been that way for decades. His type feeds the behavior he condemns. Were you in Gettysburg this past weekend? We were.
  6. He’s always jousting at windmills. What he wrote is not what DuBois is.
  7. I do not post here very often, but I do check in. What was very telling in the Politco article, was the lawyer's characterization of the divide "as war". This was not something started by Trump, but he did pull the bandage off, so to speak, causing many to open their eyes to the direction of this country. We are not at war among ourselves, and it is wrong for a Democratic county party leader to say that.
  8. I am not a fan of Biden's personality and abhor his politics, but We should never degrade ourselves to making fun of anyone's physical impediments.
  9. Any plans to bury power/cable/telephone lines and remove poles?
  10. Time travel back 40 years and go to "The Arena".
  11. Politics in this country, from the absolute lowest local offices, to the highest in our country, have all lost their service to the citizens.
  12. Why not a public forum/meeting/debate of both governmental groups, starting with a written handout from each, stating their perceived pros and cons?

IIRC, they did for Main, not sure for Maple. But, with the extent of work, burying of utility lines would have dramatically helped the appearance. T

Has DuBois any plans to do “street scaping”, replanting trees on streets, such as Main or Maple, laid bare by city projects?
  15. Doctor Hassen was my grandson's doctor and did an amazing job. He also communicated things very, very well!
  16. Great picture! Glad to hear she's doing well! Penn Highlands NICU is superb! One of my grandsons will be turning five in a few weeks, and if it wasn't for the efforts at the Penn Highlands NICU, he may never have made it!
  17. Do the first for the enjoyment of local history, and if it moves you, do one for money! Back when this thread first started, while killing time in a hotel room, I read a John Grisham novel by the name of "Callico Joe". The book was not in Grisham's normal lawyer style, but was a fictional work written around factual sports figures. In this case it was about baseball players from the late 70's to early 80's, and ignited memories I had forgotten. My point is, Grisham took a book of sports figures & facts, then tied all together around a fictional character. But back to your original idea, it sounds very interesting and one I would definitely buy.
  18. Will items such as this, be representative of your book content (question is meant in a very positive way)? If so, I would not rush to publish, but rather look for guidance from a national firm, as you may have something that interests far more than local people (sort of in the "Bathroom Reader" genre). In preparation to write, what other books are you reading or what other books have influenced you in this pursuit?
  19. For old pictures from across the US, do a web search for "Shorpy", which is an archives of pictures submitted by viewers. There have been pictures from DuBois on the site that I've never seen elsewhere.
  20. Do you have a newspaper clipping or such, that could be scanned & posted? Local history is always fascinating!
  21. I must be lucky having seen two in the yard at camp! Cousin saw five, but one of those was with me. Also we do not kil them.
