  1. Same thing happened near my house a few years ago during a big storm. The eagles rebuilt it bigger and better within a few weeks. Started out with a pair probably ten years ago and last Summer we had twelve soaring and circling over the house a few times. They sure keep the rabbits and stray cats in check!
  2. How about a "recipe" for this....
  3. I like going to the Explore link and watching the Grizzlies fishing in Alaska and the one with the baby donkey.
  4. Almost time to replenish the supply of homemade swine candy. Maple cured apple smoked....
  5. Revolution. We buy it from PetPlus at less than half the price the vet sells it for. Good for fleas, ticks, and heart worms for dogs and fleas, ticks, ear mites, and parasites for cats.
  6. Well if hubby were to come home and it just so happened to find its way there i'd bet it would be staying. Add in a few sweet innocent smiles and just happen to have his favorite meal for supper and you're in!
  7. Boy are you going to have your hands full with two new kids!! Been trying to talk the boss lady into another addition but I just keep getting that "look"... I'll just have to do like I did the last time and take her for a ride and just so happen to stop at the place that has the puppies because I know she can't/won't refuse then.
  8. That is the case with every breed of dog. As soon as you bring the pup home start exposing it to other people especially children as soon as possible. With the other pets we have always went a little slower introducing them. The first day or two we don't let the other pets in the same room to let the new pup adjust to its new home. After that we'll let them come in the room and check out the new pup in its crate throughout the day and gradually introduce them while we hold the new pup. After a few days of that they are usually good to go with a little supervision. That's how we've always trained our German Shepherds and its worked for us. Little dogs???
  9. Can't remember exactly when but 10 or so years ago we had a very heavy unexpected freak frost in early/mid June that wiped out my garden. That was when we were canning heavy and it got well over 100 tomato and pepper plants. Had a hell of a time replacing the plants as everyone else lost everything too and the greenhouses were cleaned out.
  10. Little cutie for sure!
  11. We just got a bunch of these today. Black Velvet Petunias.
  12. My cousin was out scouting deer very early Fall last year and found a Hen Of The Woods mushroom cluster about two foot in diameter. Boy was that good eating!!
  13. I've looked and looked and have never been able to find any. I too would love to try them!
  14. If that was all done in one night that pecker head has to have one worn out pecker today!!
  15. Got carried away with those trimmers. That bush is bare.....
  16. Get you some of these. Mosquito Plants. We had some of these we kept in pots for years and would keep out side in the Summer and bring them in the house in the Winter. Take your hands and just rub through them and the rooms smelled great. Same thing when we set on the porches. Rub your hands through them and Mosquitoes stayed away.
  17. Come on Junk you're never too old to raise a little hell!!
  18. Petee when we make it we take all the outside leaves we peel off and layer them around the cut up Kraut after the crock is filled then we take an old plate about the same size as the inside of the crock and put it on top of the leaves and then wrap a couple bricks in plastic wrap and foil and put on top of the plate to weight it down. Then we just cover it with a loose sheet. Head to one of the local grocery stores and pick up one their used food grade 5 gallon buckets and make it in that. They're light and have a handle.

  20. I love me some pork and kraut!! I could eat it a couple times a month!! Was unable to make my homemade kraut this year so I have been getting the next best thing. Ted Palumbo's fresh made kraut and I always have to get his Knockwurst to add in it. My wife thought I was nuts yesterday as I was eating the kraut right out of the bag as I was getting ready to put it in the oven. Glad I bought a couple extra bags! My trick to good pork and kraut. Cook it in beef broth.
  21. We have fed our German Shepherd the Canidae Life Stages since we got him from the breeder. Pay a little more but it is all natural with no grain fillers or byproducts. Pedigree is one of the worst dog foods out there!! Also If you set up with Petco online and get their Pals Rewards you can save substantial money buying it online from them.
  22. Almost looks like a mosquito plant? Does is smell like citronella when you rub the leaves?
  23. Dogg I don't think the hurt ever really goes away when you lose a family member or close friend. All one can do when the hurt comes is to remember all the happy and good times you had. Be strong my friend!

The best thing we've done for our cat Ava was get our puppy. She was turning into the "fat cat" poster child. I've changed her name to "The Instigator". She'll come in where the pup is and stand there and look at him and then she humps up her back and hiss and the chase is on. She'll jump up on something where he can't go till he goes away and then comes back looking for him and does it all over again.
