  10. Dr. John N. Veronesi, known to his family and friends as Daddy Jack or Doc V, passed away on September 3, 2023, at Christ the King Manor in DuBois, PA. The eldest son of Vannie (née Manning) and Nemo Veronesi, he was born on October 13, 1931, at the Veronesi Farm on Gardner Hill in Weedville, PA. From a young age, Jack dreamt of becoming a physician. After graduating from Bennett’s Valley High School in 1949, he attended St. Bonaventure University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then went on to attend the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, MO, where he received his Doctor of Osteopathy Degree. It was there that he met and married the love of his life, and his wife of 66 years, Judith Moore. In 1961, Jack started his medical practice in Cambridge Springs, PA. At a time before many hospitals had emergency rooms, he was among the last of the "family doctors.” He delivered babies, made house calls, and was on call for his patients day and night. Together they built and established a state-of-the-art medical clinic to better serve their patients and the community, which remains active today. He was a member of the American Osteopathy Association and the American Medical Association. Both inside and outside of the ER, Jack was a man of unforgettable charisma and many talents.
