  1. Charles Walter "Chickie" Gray, age 80 of Reynoldsville, PA died Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on September 26, 1945 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Frost) Gray. On March 11, 1980 he married Naomi Sue (Dinger) Gray. She survives. He had worked in construction for many years with Local #910. Chickie had a special relationship with his nephews and great niece who will miss him dearly. Along with his wife, he is survived by two brothers (Andy Gray (Terri) of Warren, OH, and Bob Gray (Diane) of Reynoldsville, PA). He was preceded in death by two sisters (Marie Betts and Betty Bell), and one brother (Dewey Gray). There will be no public visitation and all services are private.   2. John Edward "Jack" Gahr, age 89 of DuBois, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 4, 1936, in Elbon, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Margaret (Herzing) Gahr. On May 11, 1963 he married Sandra Marie Hayes who preceded him in death on July 6th, 2023. He was a devoted husband for over 60 years, and a proud father of his three children. He was an amazing grandfather of six, and a great grandfather of ten (with another one on the way), who all brought him immense joy. Jack was known for his warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering support of his family. Jack grew up in St. Mary's, PA and loved to play baseball in his younger days. He was a true St. Louis Cardinals fan, and enjoyed watching any baseball games on television or in person. After high school, Jack served in the U.S. Army. He returned home and met the love of his life, Sandy. Jack got a job at UPS and moved his family to DuBois. He retired after 31 years where he was a dedicated driver and received numerous safe driving awards. Jack loved to play golf, host Pinochle card night with his buddies, bake and bowl. He was an accomplished bowler where he bowled in many leagues. In the span of 30 years had two perfect games. The last 30 years Jack cared for his wife. He sacrificed his retirement life to make sure she could have the best life considering the circumstances. His selflessness and love for her was truly admirable. Jack was genuinely and Angel on Earth. He and Sandy were the masterminds behind the most wonderful holidays and family gatherings that anyone could ever imagine. Spending time with family brought both of them the most joy in life. Jack is survived by his children, Jackie (Jerry) Allshouse, Sean (Brenda) Gahr, and Michele (Bob) Gearhart. Six grandchildren Amber Garrison, Jenessa (Mike) Martin, Colton (Rachel) Gearhart, Jeremiah (Mackenzie) Allshouse, Lindsay (Bret) Zimmerman, and Austin (McKenzie) Gahr. Ten great-grandchildren, one twin sister Joanne Schneider, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Haberberger and Donna Simbeck, and two nephews. Jack's kindness, generosity, and love for his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm at Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Spirit Parish at St. Catherine of Siena with Msgr.   3. Charles M. “Max” Rugh, age 82 of Reynoldsville, PA died Saturday, December 6, 2025 at his home. Born on June 21, 1943 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Phyllis (Dilts) Rugh. On May 22, 1993 he married Betsy (Skehan) Wolfgang Rugh. She survives. He was a veteran of the United States Airforce. Max retired from T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil after over a 40- year career. He was also a senior contractor and consultant for Commonwealth Press. Max was Protestant by faith. He was a member of the Reynoldsville American Legion, Eagles and Elks, and loved his Parkinson’s Disease boxing groups and friends. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, woodworking, and working in his yard. Max especially loved participating in the Run/Walk for Someone Special, and attending his grandchildren’s many activities. Above all, his most important title was family man. Along with his wife, Max is survived by his children (Marc Wolfgang and his wife Becky of Holliston, MA, Kerri Presloid and her husband Joe of Punxsutawney, PA, Erin Morgan and her husband Dennis of Grampian, PA, Susan Fila of Berwin, IL, Dan Rugh and his wife Shannon of Pittsburgh, PA, and Eric Wolfgang and his wife Lindsay of DuBois, PA), thirteen grandchildren (Hannah, Mia, Greta, Tyler and his wife Meghan, Ryan, Ben, Dane, Brynn and her fiancé Kory States, Amelia, Eden, Jeremy, Kylie and Liam), four sisters (Brenda Cuba and her husband Bill, Jean Swartz and her husband Bugsy, JoAnn Hunger and her husband John, and Kelli Meterko and her husband Todd), and one brother (Dick Rugh and his wife Anna). Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 4 – 7 pm at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 12 pm from the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.   4. Paul E. Bojalad, "Boj", age 67 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on March 28, 1958 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late George E. Bojalad and Josephine "Jo" (Newell) Bojalad. Boj was a 1976 graduate of the DuBois Area High School. He attended Penn State University and graduated from Clarion State College with a degree in teaching, and then went on to obtain his Master's Degree from Clarion. He was a teacher in the DuBois Area School District. Previous to that, he taught at Jeff Tech, and Punxsutawney and Bellwood Antis School Districts. Boj was a member of the YMCA, was an ASA umpire, and was a well-known sports official in our area in basketball, softball, and football. Boj served District 9 as a P.I.A.A. official for close to 50 years. He founded the DuBois Youth Girls Softball League in 1982 that gave many area girls the opportunity to play softball. He was a board member of the DuBois Historical Society, was very active in the Republican Party, and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Boj was a well-known advocate for youth sports. He donated countless hours, and energy, all for the betterment of the kids in our area. He is survived by his three brothers (George Bojalad and his wife Justyne of DuBois, PA, Mike Bojalad and his wife Sandy of St. Marys, PA, and Ron Bojalad and his wife Teri of Orlando, FL), three nieces (Erica, Lindsay and Lauren), and six nephews (Matthew, Alec, Nick, David, Ian and Tom). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 4 - 7 pm at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   5. Naomi J. Rushinski, age 87 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday. December 2, 2025 at the home of her daughter in DuBois. Born on April 17, 1938 in Kittanning, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Gwendolyn (Lloyd) Beck. In 1976 she married Paul Rushinski. He preceded her in death in 2020. Naomi lived in Leesburg, Florida for 17 years before returning home to the DuBois Area. While in Florida, she, along with her husband Paul, worked at Universal Studios. It was a job they both loved and enjoyed. She was a member of DuBois Lakeside Church and enjoyed camping, cooking, and baking. Naomi especially loved making memory quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Naomi is survived by her children (Harold Barrett and his wife Patty of The Villages, FL, and Cindy Carnahan and her husband Raymond of DuBois, PA), three grandchildren (Rebecca Schapira and her husband Kurt, Angela Morgillo and her husband Jamie, and Rachelle Barrett), and four great grandchildren (Hailey and Emily Schapira and Isaac and Noah Morgillo).   6. Joseph T. "Joe" Roush, Sr., age 61 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on November 12, 1964 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late George W. and Jean E. (Dush) Roush, Sr. He was a 1984 graduate of Jeff Tech and DuBois Area High School. Joe had been working for Delaney Auto Group in DuBois, and previous to that had worked at Wal Mart in DuBois for 30 years. He was a member of the Sandy Hose Company #1 Fireman's Club. Joe enjoyed working around his home and tinkering in his garage working on cars and lawn mowers. He also enjoyed going to antique car shows, and had a passion for motorcycles. He is survived by one son (Joseph T. Roush, Jr. of DuBois, PA), and one brother (George W. Roush of Maryland).   7. Vernon B. "Bud" Hoover, Jr., age 61 of DuBois, PA, formerly of Curwensville, PA died Thursday, November 27, 2025 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on March 25, 1964 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of Vernon B. Hoover, Sr. and Dorothy (Nelson) Hoover. His father preceded him in death, his mother survives and lives in DuBois, PA. On September 1, 1990, he married Darla (Hatten) Hoover. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2021. Bud was a graduate of the DuBois Area High School and held a degree in nursing from Mt. Aloysius College. He retired this year after a 36-year career as a registered nurse. Bud worked at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital for the past 18 years and previous to that, had worked at the Brookville Hospital for 18 years. Bud attended the First Baptist Church in Curwensville and enjoyed golfing, fishing, and bowling. He also was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills… Go Bills! He is survived by his daughter (Hannah Myers and her husband Greg of DuBois, PA), a brother (Albert Hoover and his wife Brenda), a sister (Amy Hoover Marshall), numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog "Princess". In addition to his father and wife, Bud was preceded in death by his brother (Paul Hoover). A public visitation with family will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 9:30 until time of service at the First Baptist Church, 1227 Susquehanna St., Curwensville, PA 16833.   8. Joan R. Butranavage, age 92 of DuBois, PA , formerly of Old Bridge, NJ, died Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on October 11, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Vince “Rose” (Sedotte) Sparacino. She married Paul Butranavage . He preceded her in death on May 18, 2023. Joan retired from Revlon in Edison, NJ after many years of service. She is survived by two daughters (Janet Pluchinsky of DuBois, PA and Diane Lezark of Keyport, NJ), two granddaughters (Kaitlyn Ball and Jenna Pluchinsky), and two great grandchildren (Brielle and Everly Ball). Joan was preceded in death by one daughter (Laura Butranavage) on December 21, 2020. There will be no public visitation and a service will be held at the convenience of the family.   9. Edgar W. "Ed" Reed, Jr., age 81 of Troutville, PA died Thursday, November 20, 2025 at UPMC Hamot, in Erie, PA. Born on December 8, 1943 in Unity, PA, he was the son of the late Edgar W. and S. Maxine (Ecklund) Reed, Sr. Ed was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School and Penn State University. He married Charlene (Shaffer) Reed, his wife of 58 years, on August 12, 1967. She survives. Ed was a veteran of the United States Navy having served two tours during the Vietnam War. He was self-employed as an over the road trucker for over 40 years. He attended the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Ed loved to play golf and enjoyed hunting. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 720. Along with his wife, Ed is survived by two sons (William L. Reed and his wife Jennifer of Frederick, MD, and Barry L. Reed and his wife Lori of Woodbridge, VA), three grandchildren (Emily, Dane and Maisy Reed), four siblings (James Reed and his wife Glenda, David Reed and his wife Sally, Dawn Sankey and her husband Frank, and Dennis Reed), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother (Gary Reed). Visitation will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   10. Mrs. Sarah Mae Hughes, age 84 passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born October 14, 1940 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Ross and Ruth Walker McKolanis. Along with her parents, Sarah was predeceased by her sister Marion Ross Perkins, her brother Jerry Ross, and her step-father, Joseph McKolanis. Sarah was a 1958 graduate of DuBois Area High School, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. On June 14, 1958 she married Jim, the love of her life. Sarah was a wonderful seamstress and she loved crocheting. She was an avid doll collector, a painter, and a wonderful cook who loved her pets dearly. Sarah was a longtime member of Forestbrook Baptist Church where she taught many ladies the art of crochet in her weekly crochet class. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star having served as Worthy Matron in the DuBois, PA district. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, James Hughes; three daughters, Kim Wanson (Tom) of DuBois, PA, Cynthia Kelly (Mark) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Sarah Lundgren (John) of Winchester, VA; six grandchildren, Cindy Haag (Andy), Damian Jenney (Mandy), Julia Pringle, Catie Lundgren, Zachary Lundgren (Chelsea), and Zane Lundgren; many great grandchildren, and twin great-great grandsons.   11. Patricia Ann (Lenz) Platt of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Patricia was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Elmer and Augusta (Hape) Lenz. She graduated from Leechburg High School before earning her bachelor degree in Home Economics Education from Indiana State Teacher's College (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania). She later attended The Ohio State University earning a master's degree in Home Management. Patricia spent 35 years teaching in the DuBois Area School District, where she shared her passion for cooking and sewing with countless students whose lives she touched. She met the love of her life at Sandy High School, when she met Richard W. Platt, Sr. They were married in Leechburg, PA and blessed with 63 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by her husband. Patricia was a devoted member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, lay leader, member of the United Methodist Women & Faithful Builders. She was a founding member of the Young at Heart Fellowship. She was also an active member of the Gideons International Auxiliary. Patricia supported Richard in many activities connected to Camp Mountain Run for the Bucktail Council and was a former Girl Scout Troop leader. She was also a member of the DuBois Retired Teachers Association and volunteered her time delivering Meals on Wheels. In their spare time, Patricia and Richard shared a love of travel, exploring 48 states across the US, as well as Canada, Mexico, Australia & New Zealand, and even a memorable cruise through the Panama Canal. At home, Patricia found joy in cooking, sewing and gardening but her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Richard (Robin) Platt, Jr.; daughter Susan (Eric) Siegfried; brother, John (Joyce) Lenz; granddaughters: Danielle Platt, Elizabeth Platt, Jessica (Ethan) Wang, Kathryn (Mitchell) Siegfried-Hefford; and great-granddaughter Charlotte Wang. Family and friends will be received at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. in DuBois on Friday, November 21, 2025 from 4 -7 pm. A funeral service will be held at Mt Zion United Methodist Church in DuBois on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10 am with Pastor Ann Dixon officiating.   12. Jimmie D. Brundridge, age 59 of DuBois, PA died suddenly, Friday, November 14, 2025 at his home. Born on April 7, 1966 in Clearfield Borough, he was the son of Ruth Ann (Brundridge) Scanish. She survives and lives in Penfield, PA. On October 27, 1990 he married his wife of 35 years, Tammy (Klaiber) Brundridge. She survives. Jimmie worked at Oliver T. Korb & Sons, Inc. for many years. His co-workers were like his family, and he enjoyed going to work every day. He was meticulous, and organized. Jimmie took the utmost pride in in keeping his home, yard, and his vehicles in perfect condition. He especially loved his 1990 Corvette. Jimmie loved to cook, and enjoyed watching the cooking channel, or anywhere he could find a new recipe or a trick of the trade. The highlight of the year however, was going to hunting camp with the guys, something he always looked forward to. Above all, he loved his wife and his friends. He will be missed by many. Along with his wife, Jimmie is survived by his brother-in-law (Scott Klaiber and his husband Ron Kaufman of Myrtle Beach, SC). He was preceded in death by his grandparents (James and Carrie Brundridge), and his father in-law and mother-in-law (Eddie and Joyce Klaiber).   13. Beatrice J. "Bea" Prosper, age 73 of Falls Creek, PA died Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Family Hospice at Canterbury Place in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on July 15, 1952 in Coudersport, PA, she was the daughter of the late James E. Furman and Beverly J. (Johnson) Lakes. On September 18, 1971, she married Sam F. Prosper. He preceded her in death on , April 12, 2013. Bea retired as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the office of Dr. Siar after many years of service. Previous to that, she had worked at the office of Dr. Yoo. Bea was an avid sports fan and could be found always rooting for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins as well as the Penn State Nittany Lions. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and was active at DuBois Central Catholic. Bea enjoyed her monthly lunch dates with the "Bingo Girls" and monthly breakfast with her friends. Above all, her family was her life, especially her grandchildren. Bea is survived by a son (Jim Prosper & his wife Carrie of DuBois, PA), a daughter (Megan Hannum and her husband Donald of Falls Creek, PA), five grandchildren (Isaac Prosper, Lexi and Luke Shermer, and Samantha and Jaxon Hannum), a brother (Earl Furman of Litiz, PA), two sisters (Diane Furman and Cindy Norman, both of Erie, PA), and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church at St. Michael the Archangel with Fr. John Malthaner as celebrant.   14. Timothy L. Folmar, age 59 died Saturday, November 8, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Born on February 26, 1966 in Clearfield, PA, he was the son of the late Leroy Folmar and Cheryl (Price) Folmar. His mother survives. Tim was a graduate of Penn State DuBois with a degree in Wildlife Technology. He began his career working for the Department of Interior, and then went on to work as an Agricultural Inspector for the State of Maryland. Tim was a member of the Brady Township Fire, Rescue and Ambulance, and a member of the Penn State DuBois Honor Society Delta Mu Sigma Honor Society. He was a leader of 4H Bass Busters Fishing Club, and a Tai Chi Instructor. Tim enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman and reader.   15. Rachel Lynn Roman, age 45 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, November 5, 2025 in Clarion, PA. Born on August 21, 1980 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of Lonny A. and Vicky L. (Shaffer) Roman. Her parents survive and live in Reynoldsville, PA. Rachel was a 1999 graduate of Jeff Tech. She was a well-known waitress in the DuBois area. Rachel worked at Duffers Tavern, and 19th Hole Tavern & Pizza, and had previously worked at the Tannery Bar & Grill. Rachel took great pride and joy in helping others. Along with her parents, she is survived by her son (Nicholas Roman), and one brother (Robert Roman). Rachel was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.   16. Dennis D. Ferut, age 68, of DuBois, PA passed away Friday, November 7, 2025 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on July 16, 1957 he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Ann (Varacallo) Ferut. Dennis married Laurie A. (Salada) Ferut on December 26, 2016. She preceded him in death on June 9, 2017. Dennis was a self-employed carpenter and plumber for many years, and retired from the DuBois Area School District Maintenance Department where he worked in plumbing and HVAC repair. He was a member of the Falls Creek Eagles Aerie 965 enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Dennis is also survived by four children; (Brandon (Lacey Meholick) Ferut of DuBois, PA, Samantha Ferut ( Justin Berryman) of Falls Creek, PA, Brodie (Alexandra Reis) Ferut of Weedville, PA, and Seth (Jenna Winebark) Ferut, Rossiter, PA); five grandchildren (Reagan, Russell, and Riley Ferut, and Aries and Joselyn Berryman) two stepchildren (Cheri (Joseph) McConnell and Kelly (Shawn) Whiting), step grandchildren (Robert, Mary, and Ryan McConnell, Gemma and Ella Whiting) and a brother (Andrew Ferut of Sykesville, PA).   17. Lena C. Volpe, age 98 of Penfield, PA, died Friday, November 7, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on December 25, 1926 in Weedville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Josephine (Matello) Carobine. On November 15, 1947 she married Jack J. Volpe. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1982. Lena was a homemaker and a self-employed seamstress, working out of her home for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, and especially enjoyed flower gardening and polka dancing. Above all, she loved to take care of her family.   18. Michael "Slim" Harold Slimmer, 71, of Falls Creek, PA passed away Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at Penn Highlands-DuBois Hospital. A son of the late Harold and Margaret (Gresock) Slimmer, born on August 5th 1954 in DuBois, PA. Mike married his high school sweetheart, Karen Jones on October 26th 1974 at the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church of Sykesville, PA celebrating 51 years of marriage just days ago. Along with his wife, Mike is survived by two children, Amy (Brent) Smith of Falls Creek and Chad (Yonnie) Slimmer of Chambersburg, PA.; five grandchildren, Madison, Taylor, and Brock Smith; Abby and Issie Slimmer; and a sister, Kathryn "Kitty" Bogacki of Reynoldsville. He is leaving two of his granddaughters, Maddie and Tay, with two wonderful men that he loved dearly, Jeremy Krise and Zach Sloan. Mike was raised in Sykesville, PA and lived most of his life in DuBois and Falls Creek. He retired from Penn Traffic- Riverside Warehouse after 30 years. He was a loving, dedicated husband, father, and grandfather with a bold and funny sense of humor. He enjoyed the outdoors, including golfing, hunting, and fishing. Mike had his own landscape and fishing bait business for a number of years. Mike's passion was coaching youth sports, including girls and boys basketball and baseball for over 35 years. He started coaching with his children in the elementary program at Juniata. He continued his coaching career at all levels, including the YMCA, Junior High, High School, and College. He especially loved being the head coach for the Brockway girls varsity basketball team. He was known for joking around with his players, because Coach Slim had always been a big kid at heart. He was an avid fan of many sports especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and of course the Los Angeles Lakers! But most of all he loved watching his grandchildren play their many sports they participated in. Slim had many friends, was the life of the party, and he never met a stranger.   19. Luella E. "Lou" Wray, age 93 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Nelson's Golden Years surrounded by her family. Born on December 15, 1931 in Karthaus, PA, she was the daughter of the late Blaine Hoover and Cleo McGonigal. On February 13, 1954 she married Harry "Sooner" Wray. He preceded her in death in August of 2012. Lou was a past member of Tri County Church. She was a bartender by trade. You may have seen her at the Holiday Inn, the Sheraton Inn, her own bar "Wray's Inn" in Penfield, PA, and finally the Super Sub & Six Pack. Lou enjoyed bowling, traveling, and all sports, from the Rockets, DuBois Dream Team, Steelers, and the Pirates. But most of all, she loved going to any DuBois High School sporting event, where in 2009-2010, she was recognized, and awarded for "Outstanding Loyalty to the Students and Athletic Program."   21. Doris Louise (Rusden) McBride, 91, of DuBois, PA, passed away on October 22, 2025 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 27, 1933 to the late Charles and Rosalie (Effinger) Rusden. Doris married John T. McBride, Jr., her beloved husband of 62 years, on January 31, 1955. He proceeded her in death on November 8, 2017. Their long-lasting devotion to each other was evidenced in the simple and heartfelt display of holding hands wherever they went. Doris was a homemaker for all of her adult life and a military wife for 20 of those years. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother to her three daughters. In later years, she was essential in helping to raise a grandchild and a great grandchild. Doris took care of both her parents in their golden years. She also was a selfless and tireless caregiver to her husband in his final years. Doris consistently put her family and those she cared for above herself. In her later life, she was able to take time to enjoy camaraderie, outings, and activities with her friends at Christ the King Manor Apartments. Doris was a religious person; she demonstrated her faith through her kind, caring, and generous nature that she extended toward everyone she encountered. She is survived by two daughters, Terie McBride, LTC, U.S. Army (Ret) and Tina Anand and her husband Dr. Sanjeev Anand, both of DuBois, PA; three grandchildren, Jesse Carberry, Celine Anand, and Alaina Anand; two great-grandchildren, Cole Carberry and Sydney Carberry; and one brother, Robert Rusden of Arizona.   22. Irene V. Fickes, age 71 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Christ the King Manor. Born on September 27, 1954 in Farmington, New Mexico she was the daughter of the late Juanita (Martinez) Stinson. On January 24, 1973 she married her husband of 52 years, Lloyd William Fickes. He survives. Irene loved and cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking, baking and taking care of everyone else. Irene retired as a caregiver and had previously worked in management for Wal-Mart, and for the Penn Traffic Company for many years as a Bakery/Deli manager and manager of the Steak 'n Snack Restaurant at the Main Street Riverside/BiLo in DuBois.   23. Jeffrey Alan Lukens, age 67 of Treasure Lake, DuBois, PA passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Born on January 6, 1958 in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Wilfred Lukens and Gale (Bilanish) Vance. His mother survives. Jeff married Denise (Kashella) Lukens, his beloved wife of 45 years, in 1980. He was a Christian by faith and attended Treasure Lake Interdenominational Church. Jeff attended Pennsylvania State University where he obtained an Associate Degree. He had been a dedicated employee of Penn Highlands DuBois for over 35 years. He was an avid fisherman and always had a bigger and better fish story to tell. In his younger years Jeff enjoyed hunting. He was kind and generous and often did good deeds behind the scenes. Jeff was a man's man - affectionately named by Kim Fike. He loved to kid and tease his friends and acquaintances. Jeff enjoyed spending time at camp, side by side riding with wonderful friends, and his Ranger Bass Boat. Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by his three furry friends - Good Time Charlie, Jasmine, and Rilee. His passing left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, co-workers, and many more whose lives were touched by him. There will be no public visitation.   24. Ronald J. Doane, age 76 of Reynoldsville, PA died Friday, October 17, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on July 4, 1949 in Brookville, PA, he was the son of the late Hiram and Etta Rose (Lindemuth) Doane. On March 27, 1976, he married his wife of 49 years, Barbara J. (Knarr) Doane. She survives. Ron was a graduate of Clarion University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education and went on to obtain his Master's Degree in Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Ron retired from Jeff Tech as an English Teacher after a 50-year teaching career. During the summer, he worked for J.A. Kohlhepp Sons for 38 years. Ron was a member of the Reynoldsville First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed playing basketball and pickleball, and spending time at his camp. He is survived by his two daughters (Brandi Benden and her husband Joseph of Brockport, PA, and Cortne Sandler and her husband Noah of Bethel Park, PA.), two grandchildren (Kayley and Chloe Benden), a brother (C.   25. Philip Vogelsong, age 75 of Byrnedale, PA died Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital as a faithful servant of the Lord. Born on March 20, 1950 in Mechanicsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Donald V. and Philena R. (Fordney) Vogelsong. Phil was a member of the Class of 1968 at East Pennsboro High School and attended Possum Hollow Tech. He retired from Quaker Oats in Shiremanstown, PA after over 30 years of service. Phil enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and their many activities together. He especially enjoyed racing, hunting, fishing, and shooting pool. He loved his food and he especially loved eating at Rose's Hilltop Diner. His diner friends became like family. His generous heart touched many people; he will be greatly missed. He is survived by three children (Scott Vogelsong and his wife Elizabeth of Fedora, SD; Steven Vogelsong and his wife Amanda of Manchester, PA; and Sarah Vogelsong of Mechanicsburg, PA), ten grandchildren (Ashley, Brandon, Charlize, Colin, Natalie, Sarena, Mya, Christian, Isaac, and Liliana), two brothers (Donald and Casey Vogelsong), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter (Susanne Vogelsong), sister-in-law (Pamela Vogelsong), and sister (Diane Savage).
