  1. Ford Owen Bell, age 46 of DuBois, PA died Friday, March 22, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on February 17, 1978 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Sidney T. and Anna Mae (Galentine) Bell. Ford is survived by one son (Jace Morris-Tinker), four sisters (Terry Ann Bell, Deminica Bennett, Christine Callender and Kizzy Quinn), two brothers (Anthony Bell and Rodger Callender), and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother (Sidney T. Bell, Jr.), one sister (Mary Callender) and two nieces. There will be no public visitation. All services will be private.   2. Paul A. Kaizer, age 71 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on November 30, 1952 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Stanley S. and Virginia (Kosko) Kaizer. Paul was a graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School and Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA. He sold clothing for a New York designer throughout the United States. Paul enjoyed baseball, golf, swimming, volleyball, music and he loved both the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He also played music for the popular Swing Kay’s Band. He is survived by one brother Stanley Kaizer and his wife Sandra of DuBois, PA. There will be no public visitation an all services will be private. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.   3. Florene A. Kerr, age 93 of DuBois, PA died Friday, March 22, 2024 at Nelson’s Golden Years. Born on January 21, 1931 in Reynoldsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Stockdale, Sr. and Zeta (Cochran) Stockdale. On June 20, 1953 she married Thomas C. Kerr. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1992. Florene retired from Ideal Products in Sykesville, PA after over 20 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in DuBois, PA. Florene is survived by two sisters (Ruth Dobis of DuBois, PA and Connie (John E.) Hopkins of Pinehurst, NC), and three brothers (Matthew (Patricia) Stockdale of Reynoldsville, PA, Joseph (Iva) Stockdale of Sykesville, PA and Francis Stockdale of Punxsutawney, PA), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers (John, Robert Jr. and Wilbur Stockdale). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 2 -5 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   4. James A. Bonante, Sr., age 90 of Punxsutawney, PA died Thursday, March 21, 2024 at his home. Born on July 14, 1933 in Sykesville, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Pompea Mary (Rubino) Bonante. On February 14, 1962 he married his wife of 62 years, Marian J. (Martin) Bonante. She survives. Along with his wife, James is survived by his children (James A. “Jim” Bonante II and Nancy A. Bonante-Fye and her husband Harold, both of Punxsutawney, PA), eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister (Lucy McGee of Erie, PA). He was preceded in death by three brothers (John, Frank and Arman Bonante) and one sister (Nancy Bonante).   5. Marc Leo “Hano” Hanlon, age 63 of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Christ the King Manor after fighting a valiant 20+ year battle with brain cancer. Born on December 19, 1960, in Clearfield, PA, he was the son of the late Patrick Hanlon and Marie (Bertocchi) Hanlon. His mother survives and lives in DuBois. Marc was a 1979 graduate of Central Christian High School and proudly belonged to Goodwill Hose Company #5. He spent two years in the Army Reserves in Fort Knox, KY and professionally became a certified Plumber/Pipe Fitter. With that union position, Marc traveled extensively working on hospitals, prisons, schools and even nuclear power plants. He was incredibly brilliant and quick witted. Always maintaining his independence and sense of humor, Marc enjoyed singing, drumming and had an appreciation for music. He could often be heard singing to his tunes at the Manor. Along with his mother, Marc is survived by his daughter(Kendahl Rose Belman and her husband Aaron), his ex-wife (Susan (Smith) Kohn and husband Mike), two sisters (Kim Hanlon and Tricia Mower and her husband Cliff, and three brothers (Tim Hanlon and his wife Elona, Jeff Hanlon and his wife Jenn and Chris Hanlon and his wife Sarah Rienzi). There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10 a.m. from the Chapel at Christ the King Manor with Fr. Matias Quimno as celebrant. A dinner will follow at Christ the King Community Center – ALL friends and family are welcome. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.   6. Paul R. McAninch, age 93 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Christ the King Manor. Born on April 22, 1930 in Big Run, PA, he was the son of the late Glen and Edith (Hipchen) McAninch. On April 21, 1951 he married Madelyn (Rosman) McAninch. She preceded him in death on October 28, 2023. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army having service in the Korean War. Paul retired from Preston Trucking in West Middlesex and Falls Creek after many years of service. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville and the Knights of Columbus Council 519. Paul is survived by two children; (Daniel T. McAninch and his wife Phyllis of DuBois, PA, and Denise A. Johnston and her husband Stanley of Big Run, PA), six grandchildren; (Krista (Matt) Hasselback, Nicole (Mike) Higgins, Janel Meholic, Melissa (Andy) Pentz, Tracy and Danielle Lalonde, Frances McAninch, and Cheston (Beth Ann) McAninch), six great-grandchildren; (Jaden, Skyler, Caden, Lilly, Riley, and Jameson), and 2 sisters (Donna Rishel and Evelyn Dinger).   7. Francis D. “Brownie” Rosana, age 90 of Reynoldsville, PA (Soldier), died Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on April 14, 1933 in Adrian, PA, He was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Baran) Rosana. On May 1, 1954 he married Catherine “Tookie” (Meholick) Rosana. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1988. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. Brownie was the owner/operator of his own trucking company for over 60 years. He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Sykesville, PA, the American Legion Post 345 in Sykesville, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1231 in Punxsutawney, PA. Brownie loved polka music and polka dancing, and he never missed his son’s Sunday Morning Polka Party. Above all, he was a wonderful and caring father and grandfather. He is survived by his children (Francis J. “Big Moose” Rosana and his wife Patricia Lynn of Soldier, PA and Karen Gillen and her husband John of Kersey, PA), two grandchildren (Francis J. Rosana, Jr. and Joseph F. Rosana), two step grandchildren (Tyrus and Brady Gillen), two great grandchildren (Braden and Deven),and one sister (Helen Marie Bair of Punxsutawney, PA). Brownie is also survived by his longtime companion (Nellie Longo), as well as many nieces and nephews.   8. Judith Ann Moore Veronesi died peacefully after a courageous battle with throat cancer on March 18, 2024. She was born June 2, 1936 in Browning, MO, to Beverly (Duncan) and Robert Moore. Baptized into the Christian faith at an early age, Judy remained a faithful believer throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend—known for her quick and curious mind, her sense of humor, her fierce loyalty, and her fighting spirit. After graduating from Liberty High School in Browning (class of 1954), Judy went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO. She was an active member of Tri Sigma sorority and a fourth generation PEO sister. She also sang professionally (for two seasons) with the Muny Opera in St. Louis. During that time, Judy met her husband of 66 years, Dr. John (Jack) Veronesi. Jack, who was attending medical school nearby, and came across a photo of Judy as homecoming queen in the newspaper. He vowed to meet her, and the rest is history! Following her graduation, Judy spent two years teaching physical education to middle schoolers in the Kirksville public school system while Jack finished medical school. In 1960, the couple moved to Grove City for Jack’s residency before ultimately settling in Cambridge Springs, PA. Judy was a loving full-time mother to her three children: Robert (b. 1958), Cynthia (b. 1960), and Brent (b. 1962). In 1975, the family moved to DuBois, where they would live for nearly five decades. Judy was a beloved and active member of her community at Treasure Lake. She was a founding member of the Association of Women Investors and her bridge club, remaining involved in both groups for over forty years. She also loved her golfing and bowling leagues and enjoyed working at Leonardson’s of DuBois using her flair as fashion coordinator for many local charity fashion shows. Most of all, she treasured her family and friends—who came from far and wide to visit on her patio and taste her famous Missouri recipes, like her fried chicken and chocolate fudge. Judy was a proud Missourian and never lost her love of her native state. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack (September 2023), both her parents, and her beloved sister, Cynthia Dotson (October 1993). She is survived by her two sons, Robert and Brent Veronesi of Port Matilda, and Boalsburg, PA, and their wives, Meredith Veronesi and Dr. Robin Oliver Veronesi; her daughter, Cynthia Delaney of Encinitas, CA, and her husband Tom Delaney; her six grandchildren, Alexa, Cam, Julia, Olivia, Victoria, and Rocco; and her niece, Dr. Jane Dotson Reed of Kansas City, MO.   9. Joan P. Godak, Age 85 of DuBois, PA died Friday, March 15, 2024 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on November 16, 1938 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Wilson) Sherkosky. On February 2, 1957, she married Thomas J. Godak. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2006. Joan was a homemaker. She was an avid fan of football, especially of the Kansas City Chiefs. She also enjoyed Bingo, working in her yard, and was a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family. Joan is survived by three children (Christopher J. Godak of Brookville, PA; and Thomas J. Godak and Michelle R. Godak, both of DuBois, PA), five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and her sister (Kathleen Vitarelli of DuBois, PA). She was preceded in death by her sister (Debra Sherkosky) and her brother (Andrew Sherkosky).   10. Charles Thomas “Tom” Swauger, Sr., age 85, of DuBois, PA passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at his home. Born March 16, 1938 in McCartney, PA, he was the son of the late Bruce Charles and Ruth Bloom Swauger. On June 23, 1959, he married his wife of 64 years, Nancy Ann (Ord) Swauger. She survives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Chuck, his sister Dorothy Hendricks and brothers Jim & Dave. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Cathy (Doug) McMillen, sons Steve (Melinda) Swauger and Sam Swauger (fiancé Erin Battaglia), grandchildren Kelly (Ardie) McCall, Doug McMillen, Angela (Brian) Stewart, Bryce Swauger (fiancé Makayla Solada), Justin Swauger, Danielle (Shane) Rode, Steven (Carley) Rode, Madisan Cable, Katy McGahey, Max McGahey; great grandchildren Draven Stewart, Jackson McCall, Skylar and Emily Rode, and Alexander Schaeffer; siblings Carol Cloak, Bob Swauger, Nancy (John) Murray; in-laws Bev (John) Peterson, Don (Doris) Ord, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. Tom was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, in DuBois. In 1956, he joined the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Volunteer Hose Co #1. Tom would go on to lead the Fire Department as Chief in 1971 & 1972, notably, during the historic flooding from Hurricane Agnes. He mentored many firefighters throughout his 68-year career and remained an active member, up until his passing. A skilled tradesman, Tom spent his career working at Fitzpatrick’s Roofing, Rockwell Manufacturing, Busy Bee Builders, Bob Taylor Fire Equipment Sales & Service, Gnan Plumbing & Heating, Swauger Plumbing & Heating, DuBois Area School District, Overdorf Plumbing & Heating, and Hovis. Tom enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, leading the Swauger Racing #28 Team, and attending the many sporting events his grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in. He will be fondly remembered for his great storytelling, fixing anything that needed fixing, and the many skills he has passed on. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   11. Betty J. Armanini, age 80, formerly of Sykesville, PA and Troutville, PA, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Christ the King Manor. Born on June 29, 1943 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Clara (Lingenfelter) Schoening. On June 27, 1989 she married Carlo Armanini. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2006. Betty was a homemaker. She loved bingo and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty is survived by one son (Arthur Beatty, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Sykesville, PA), three grandchildren (Chelsea and Jessica Beatty and Nathan Alvetro and his wife Heather, all of Sykesville, PA), three great grandchildren (Bricen, Bentley and Braxton), one sister (Helen Lockwood of Luthersburg, PA ) and two brothers (William and Robert Schoening , both of DuBois, PA). She was preceded in death by one daughter (Kimberly A. Alvetro), three brothers (Wally, Theodore and Benjamin Schoening) and two sisters (Phyllis Zalewski and Dorothy Shimmel).   12. Lisbeth V. “Vicki” Fye, Age 76 of DuBois, PA passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at Pen Highlands DuBois Hospital in DuBois, PA after a short illness. Born on August 21, 1947 in Wilkinsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Antoni and Rubina (Connor) Vosnick. Vicki graduated from the DuBois Area High School in 1965 before graduating from California University in California, Pennsylvania with a degree in special education. Vicki earned her master’s degree from Clarion University in Clarion, Pennsylvania. Vicki taught in Germany for the Department of Defense, as well as in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia. She finished her career as an elementary school principal in Leesburg, VA. On November 9, 1968, Vicki married her high school sweetheart and husband of 55 years, Bruce Fye. He survives. Vicki was a patient and giving soul . She was kind and very creative, and loved all animals, especially her cats. Above all, she loved her family and spending time and her grandchildren and baking them cookies. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter (Melissa Fye and her fiancé Frank of Leesburg, VA), two grandchildren (Raymond and James Fortunato), a sister (Margaret Quashnock of DuBois, PA), numerous nieces and nephews, and her little black cat, “BC”. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   14. Shirley R. Player, age 88, of DuBois, PA died on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at her home. Born on November 21, 1935 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Allison and Betty (Kelichner) Wayne. On September 7, 1957 she married her husband of 65 years, Robert I. “Rip” Player. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2023. Shirley was a graduate of Sandy High School. She had worked at Woolworth Department Store, at Bell Telephone as an operator, and had most recently worked for over 20 years at Fashion Bug in DuBois, PA. Shirley was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid gardener and dog lover and believed strongly in pet adoption. She also enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives. She was the Pittsburgh Steelers “biggest fan”, and enjoyed watching Penn State football as well. Shirley is survived by three children, (Jeff Player, Roberta “Bobbi” Zartman and husband Randy, and Rebecca Caudell, all of DuBois, PA) five grandchildren (Mitchell, Mason, Jesse, Alexa, and Natalie), three great grandchildren, one brother (Thomas Wayne and his wife Janet of DuBois, PA), and numerous nieces , nephews and cousins.   15. Debra A. Burkett, age 68 of Falls Creek, PA passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at her home. Born on August 14, 1955 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late William D. and Marian (Anderson) Clontz. On June 1, 1974 she married Dennis E. Burkett. He survives. Debra retired after an over 40-year career as a Licensed Practical Nurse from the DuBois Regional Medical Center. She was instrumental in the development of the I.N.F.O. scheduling department at the hospital. She was a very active member of the Smithtown Community Church where she had served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, and delivered the “inspiration of the day” each Sunday. She also served as the Judge of Elections in the Falls Creek Boro. Above all, Debra loved spending time with her grandchildren. Along with her husband, Debra is survived by her children (Laura Barrow and her husband John of Painesville, OH and Wesley Burkett and his fiancé Delaney of Falls Creek, PA), three grandchildren (Julia and Jack Barrow and William Burkett), three brothers (Richard Clontz and his wife Joy of Irwin, PA, Ronald Clontz and his wife Sue of Falling Waters, WV and Robert Clontz and his wife Barb of Portage, MI) and two sisters (Lynda Williams of Cleveland, TX and Sandra Shrum of Scottdale, PA).   16. Helen R. Cathers, age 82 of Reynoldsville, PA passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at Christ the King Manor. Born on October 29, 1941 in Winslow Township, PA she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Hazel (Milliron) Cathers. Helen had worked at Rockwell International for 37 ½ years. She was member of the Reynoldsville Presbyterian Church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Reynoldsville Aerie 540, was on the Board of Directors of the Reynoldsville Library and was a volunteer at both Helping Hands Food Pantry and the American Red Cross. Helen was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate, Steelers, and Notre Dame fan. She also enjoyed tennis. She is survived by numerous cousins, and her good friends Carol Brodie and the Phil and Tracy Shenkle family.   17. Betty L. Shenkle, age 95, formerly of DuBois, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in the Memory Care unit of Arbor Terrace Assisted Living Facility in Fulton, Maryland where she had been residing for the past 4 years. Betty was born in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania on December 11, 1928 to Miller and Evelyn Stewart. A graduate of DuBois High School, class of 1946, she attended the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing and began her nursing career at Maple Avenue Hospital in DuBois. In 1952, she married the love of her life, William H. Shenkle, also of Dubois, and then moved with him to Dayton, Ohio where William completed his military service in the Air Force. Following his discharge, they lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Statesboro, Georgia; then Pittsburgh again before returning to DuBois in 1977 when Bill served as the plant manager for Rockwell until his retirement in 1987. Throughout her life, Betty was always involved in volunteer activities. As a girl scout troop leader, a Maple Avenue Hospital Auxiliary volunteer, United Way Board volunteer, member of First United Methodist Church, DuBois Class of 1946 Alumnae Society, Betty believed in giving back to her community through her time and her service. She treasured her time with her family and her friends, and opened her home for numerous holiday events, super bowl parties, birthday parties, and graduation celebrations. Following the passing of her husband in 2016, Betty moved to DuBois Village, then to Fulton, Maryland to be closer to her children. Interment will be in the Morningside Cemetery. Betty is survived by her three children: Valerie (Jeffrey) Wetstone of Columbia, Maryland; Linda Tock of North Tonawanda, New York; Jeffrey Shenkle of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two of her three brothers, Glen (Pert) Stewart and Ron Stewart. The family will have a private gravesite service later this summer.   18. Carolyn S. Beatty, age 87 of DuBois, PA passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on December 8, 1936 in Dillon, MT, she was the daughter of the late Theron and Bernice (Jensen) Sargent. She married Fredric Beatty who preceded her in death on September 9, 2016. Carolyn was a graduate of Montana State University with a degree in education. Along with her husband, she was the owner/operator of multiple McDonalds franchises in Pennsylvania and New York. Carolyn had many hobbies and interests including golfing and needlework. She was also an accomplished pianist and was an avid dog lover. She is survived by her two sons (Joseph Beatty and his wife Lisa of Valencia, PA and Michael Beatty and his wife Diane of Springville, NY), six grandchildren (Joshua, Aaron, Sarah, Jessica, Jordan and Gregory), and eight great grandchildren.   19. Robert A. Spinda, Sr., age 86 of DuBois, PA passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. Born on July 20, 1937 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late George and Grace (Ferguson) Spinda. On September 26, 1959 he married Ebba M. (Swanson) Spinda. She survives. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Consolidated Natural Gas as a well tender. Previous to that, he had worked at Highway Oil Company and the B&O Railroad. Bob was a member of Tri County Church. He was a longtime member of the Old Towne Beagle Club, was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. He is also survived by his children (LeeAnn Toombs and her husband Joe of Reynoldsville, PA, Mark Spinda and his wife Tina of Sykesville, PA, Robert Spinda, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Karen Nelson and her husband Dave of DuBois, PA) seven grandchildren (Erik Toombs, Justine Jordan, Seth, Ethan and Matthew Nelson, and Kathryn Irvin and Courtney LaBorde), six great grandchildren (Julian, Kona, Dominic, Ebaney, Deklyn and Silas) and one brother (Gary Spinda of Lancaster, PA).   20. Margaret M. Edmiston, Age 83 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Christ the King Manor. Born on February 18, 1941 in Indiana, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Helen (Braughler) Salsgiver. Margaret lived most of her life in Florida. She played piano and violin, loved knitting crocheting and painting.   21. John E. “Jack” Dugan, Jr., age 86 of DuBois, PA died Friday, February 23, 2024 at Christ the King Manor. Born on March 15, 1937 in Brockway, PA, he was the son of the late John E. and Cecilia (Baka) Dugan, Sr. Jack was a 1955 graduate of Brockway High School, and a graduate of Williamsport Trade School. On January 16, 1960 he married Rosemary (Falvo) Dugan. She preceded him in death on June 13, 2017. He retired from Brockway Glass and Mould as a pattern maker after 43 years of service. Jack was a past member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church where he served as an usher, and along with his wife, had been a member of the Bereavement Lunch Team. He was also a money counter and a member of the Building & Maintenance, and Cemetery Committees. Jack was a past City of DuBois Councilman, a member of the City Watershed Committee and a member of the PA Wildlife Habitat. In his earlier years, he was instrumental in DuBois Catholic’s CAPS. He is survived by his children (John Dugan, III and his wife Shelley of Clarion, PA and Susan Gelfand and her husband Marc of DuBois, PA), four grandchildren (Josh Manning and his wife Krista, Cory Manning and his wife Carlee, John Dugan IV and Matthew Dugan), three step grandchildren (Elliot Gelfand and his wife Jenn Zaffuto, Josh Gelfand and his wife Lindsey and Alex Gelfand and his wife Lisa), nine great grandchildren, and one brother (Mark Dugan and his wife Jane of Falls Creek, PA).   22. Regis J. Felix, age 86 of DuBois, PA died Friday, February 23, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on September 26, 1937, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Patrick and Anna (Krystofek) Felix, Sr. He was a 1956 graduate of Sykesville High School where he played football, basketball and baseball, and was a 1967 graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Regis was a United States Army Reservist for the 629th Transportation Division. On December 1, 1989 he married Donna J. (Anderson) Felix. She survives. Regis retired from the State of Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation as a counselor after 33 years of service. He was awarded the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor of the Year for the State of Pennsylvania. Previous to that, he had worked for the B&O Railroad for 7 years. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and often attended St. Bernard in Falls Creek. Regis was active for many years with Federation League Baseball where he had served as past president, and managed the Troutville Tigers for many years. He coached St. Catherine basketball and DuBois Central basketball for 11 years. Regis also worked for many years for Sunny 106.5 Radio as the voice of Brockway Rover Football and DuBois Central Catholic Basketball. Regis also announced many DuBois Little League All Star baseball games. He is survived by one son (Rod Felix and his wife Julie of DuBois, PA), one step daughter (Shari Massini and her husband Steve of Harrisburg, PA), seven grandchildren (Matthew (Joshua), Jakob, Zane, Morgan, Ashley (Kurt), Kelsie (Chad), and Emily), two great grandchildren (Cameron and Madison), a brother (Theodore Felix and his wife Janet of Falls Creek, PA) and two sisters (Bernadette “Bunny” Felix and Mary Jo Ulishney, both of DuBois, PA), Regis is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Regis was preceded in death by three brothers (Edward, John Paul, and Patrick Felix, Jr.) and three sisters ( Ann Shilala, Jean Bauer and Marcella Kuritz).   23. John Edward Farr, 82, of DuBois, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday, February 19, 2024, from injuries sustained in a bicycle accident in Myrtle Beach, SC. John was born on March 2, 1941 in Waukegan, IL, to the late Clarence and Emma (Kotila) Farr. On May 12, 1990, John married the true love of his life, Catherine (Kuniski) Farr. She survives. John was a 1959 graduate of Highland Park High School; he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Physics from Northwestern University and was awarded his PhD from the Pennsylvania State University. John felt fortunate to have been a recipient of an Evans Scholars Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship for golf caddies; in recent years he served on the Western Pennsylvania Evans Scholars selection committee. He began his career at the Penn State Beaver campus before transferring to the DuBois campus in 1972, where he was an assistant professor of physics until his retirement in 2003. John loved teaching and was awarded the “Educator of the Year Award” from the DuBois Educational Foundation in 1987. He encountered many students who in later years expressed their gratitude for the positive, lasting impact he had on their lives and careers. Upon retiring, he and a friend embarked on an ambitious cross-country bicycling trip, dipping their rear wheels in the Pacific Ocean at San Francisco, and rolling their front wheels into the Atlantic Ocean, 8 weeks and 3,420 miles later in Virginia Beach. John was a voracious, lifelong learner. He earned an associate degree in Wildlife Technology from PSU DuBois after retiring from teaching; he studied Spanish in Mexico and pursued opportunities to use the language whenever possible on trips in Mexico, Latin America and Spain. He and Cathy enjoyed their travels together, especially their many visits to US national parks, and European & Central American destinations. Their favorite cities included Paris and Venice, which inspired the names of their beloved cats. John was passionate about helping others in meaningful ways, particularly through his tireless work to revive and sustain Habitat for Humanity of Clearfield County, where his various roles included Board President, Construction Supervisor, and continual supporter and advocate. He undertook more than 20 yearly bicycle trips to raise funds in support of Habitat's mission. He also founded and organized the “King of the Mountain” bicycle race, an annual Habitat fundraiser. Above all, he will be fondly remembered as a gentle soul and a true renaissance man. His interests were many and varied, including bicycling, playing basketball, hiking, model trains and railroading, antique clocks, metal arts classes, crossword puzzles, traveling and reading. He especially enjoyed seeking out the best chocolate chip cookie, having a nice glass of wine, and sharing special times with family & friends. In addition to his beloved wife, Cathy, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, John Hershel Farr and Erin Thomas of State College; daughter Cynthia (Donald) O’Hora of Shamokin Dam; stepson Bill (Kelly) Hughes of State College; grandchildren Sebastian & Cadence Farr, James O’Hora, Jennifer (Brent) Prevratil; great grandchildren Lilly & Jax Prevratil, and Ashley Haberman; brother Tom (Mary) Farr; brother- & sister-in law Joseph & Mary Kuniski; cousin Robert Sette; and nephews Daniel & Nic Farr, as well as the many friends whose lives he touched. John's lifelong desire to help others continues upon his passing, as his tissue donation will impact more than 100 lives. Teresa was a homemaker. She had worked at Jackson China, Rockwell Manufacturing and Jeffries Electronics. She was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Parish at St. Catherine of Siena where she had been a member of the Rosary Society.   25. Kevin S. Huey, age 57 of DuBois, PA died Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on April 24, 1966 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of the late Philip E. Huey and Darlene (Pifer) Huey. His mother survives and lives in Big Run, PA. He was a graduate of Jeff Tech. After graduation Kevin joined the Army National Guard and served in the Engineering Unit in Punxsutawney for 15 years. On August 28, 1994 he married Darlene M. (Harriger) Huey. She survives and lives in DuBois, PA. Kevin worked for the past 20 years as a delivery driver and material handler for Schwan’s. He enjoyed gardening, going to amusement parks with his kids and cooking on the grill. Kevin was also interested in Bushcraft. He is survived by his children (Bryant Rockwell of Brookville, PA, William Rockwell, Marjorie Rockwell and Kevin S. Huey, II all of DuBois, PA), five grandchildren (Jacob Woods, Dante Kuhn, Isabella, Landon and Aiden Rockwell), and one brother (Brian Huey of Big Run, PA).
