  1. Patricia Jane "Cookie" Schoening, age 82 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Highland View Healthcare in Brockway, PA. Born on November 13, 1942 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Pauline (Hardick) Pryzbrowski On April 17, 1971 she married Theodore M. Schoening. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2013. Cookie was a homemaker and belonged to DuBois Lakeside Church. She was a woman of great faith and prayer. Cookie loved Bingo and puzzles. Above all, she loved her family and her two cats, Fluffy and Mittens. Patty is survived by two sons (Theodore Schoening and his fiancé, Jacqueline of DuBois, PA and Benjamin Schoening and his companion Tonya of Reynoldsville, PA), one daughter (Patricia Oswald and her husband Kevin of Penfield, PA), 4 grandchildren (Samantha, Zackary, Michael, and Trevor) and two brothers (Michael and Francis Pryzbrowski). She was preceded in death by one brother (Dave Pryzbrowski) and one sister (Anna Mary Pryzbrowski). There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.   2. Donald E. Fritz, age 78 of DuBois. PA died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on May 26, 1946 in Hancock, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond "Ray" and Jane L. (Botsford) Fritz. He was married to Christine (Grot) Fritz. She preceded him in death on December 9, 2009. Donald was a retired land surveyor and had owned and operated "My Brothers Place", a pizza parlor in his hometown of Hancock, NY. He liked to golf and in his younger years he participated in western rodeo's. He is survived by one brother (Steven C. Fritz) and several nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. A private memorial service will be held. Burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery Hancock, Ny. Memorial donations may be placed with the charity of the donor's choice.   3. Christine J. "Chrissy" Kephart, Age 54 of Stump Creek, PA died Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on December 14, 1970 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of George and Wanda (Whaling) Sackash. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives and lives in DuBois. On April 20, 1991, she married Wallace C. Kephart. He survives. Chrissy was a homemaker and enjoyed camping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by 2 daughters (Ashley Witherite and her husband Dominic of DuBois, PA, and Katelyn Bundy and her husband Tony of Stump Creek, PA), 2 grandchildren (Addison and Andrew Bundy), and two sisters (Georgeanne Mitchell and her husband James of Clearwater, FL and Sonya Sackash of DuBois, PA). Chrissy was preceded in death by her infant brother (William), maternal grandparents (Harry and Joy Whaling), and paternal grandparents (Mike and Annie Sackash). Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.   4. William Charles (Billy) Pietsch III, age 51 of Brockway, PA passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Born on August 8, 1973 in New Brighton, PA he was the son of Kathryn (Armanini) and William Pietsch Jr. of Brockway, PA. Billy was a loving son, father, brother and uncle. He attended DuBois Central High School and graduated in 1992 from Laurel High School (New Castle, PA area) His main two passions in life were baseball and hunting. He was a member of both the 1990 DuBois Central High School District championship baseball team and the 1991 Laurel High School state quarter finalist baseball team. Along with his parents he is survived by his sister, Melissa Pietsch of Brockway, PA, his children, Jaylen and Sierra Pietsch of Lock Haven, PA and nephew, Justin Alwine of Brockway, PA. He was preceded in death by both his maternal grandparents, Norma and Robert Armanini,and paternal grandparents, Ann and William Pietsch of Pittsburgh, PA. There will be no public visitation.   5. Charlotte A. Kolash, age 88 of DuBois, PA died on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on February 10, 1936 in DuBois, PA. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Margaret (Bierly) Brasseur. On September 25, 1954, she married Francis P. "Frank" Kolash. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1987. Charlotte retired from Christ the King Manor as a licensed practical nurse after many years of service. Previous to that she had worked in the same position at the DuBois Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic in DuBois and she was an advocate for Al -Anon. Charlotte was very crafty and was a master at crocheting and knitting. She was a 1954 graduate of Sandy Township High School. Charlotte still kept in touch with her classmates and attended all class events. She is survived by three children (Ann M. Lines and husband Terry, and Michael F. Kolash and wife Jeanne both of DuBois, PA, and Susan L. Smith and husband Chris of Falls Creek, PA.) seven grandchildren (Laura Jones, Jason and Scott Lines, Michael Kolash, Michelle Hemke, and Megan Dean and Katie Wells) eleven great- grandchildren (Mya, Jacob, Sophia, Olivia, Layne, Launa, Allie, Landon, Luke, Derick and Trenten) and one brother (Edgar Brasseur and wife Becky of Ocala, FL). Charlotte was preceded in death by her great-grandchild (Joseph Anthony Ducey Lines) and two sisters (Linda Mann and Marna Simpson. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 10:00 AM from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Parish at St. Michael the Arch Angel with Fr. John Malthaner, Msgr. Donna Jean Dunlap Hilliard, Age 92 of DuBois, PA passed away into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, January 31, 2025 at the DuBois Village surrounded by her loving family. Born January 15, 1933 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late David T. Dunlap and Florence (Overdorf) Dunlap. She graduated in 1950 from Sandy High School as Salutatorian of her class. Donna married Donald E. Hilliard on April 23, 1954 in DuBois. They celebrated over 56 years of marriage before his death on January 2, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charles L. Dixon, Jr. Donna was a long-time member of the DuBois Christian and Missionary Alliance Church having served on many ministries of the church. It was always a blessing visiting shut-ins from the church. Before her marriage, Donna worked in the office at Rockwell Manufacturing Company. After being a stay-at-home mom for 23 years, she went to work as an Executive Secretary at Riverside Division of Penn Traffic Company and retired in 1995. She loved taking care of her flower gardens and spending time with her family and friends. Donna is survived by her son, Dr. David (Sharyl) Hilliard of Bethesda, Ohio and two daughters, Diane (Bill) Wilt of Darlington, PA and Darla (Tom) Kahle of DuBois, PA as well as her grandson, Jeremy Kahle of DuBois, PA. She is also survived by her sister Joan (Del) Spafford of DuBois, PA and a very special niece, Toni (Hilliard) Senior of DuBois, PA. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be held at the DuBois Christian and Missionary Alliance Church on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Daniel Muir officiating.   7. Cathy Ann Chesnalavich, age 73 of DuBois PA died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on December 12, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Norman Bair and Betty Ann (Wells) Fleeger. On October 2, 1968 she married her husband of 56 years, John Chesnalavich Sr. He survives. Cathy was a devoted wife and loving mother to everyone alike, she enjoyed spending time with her family, sitting on the porch watching her purple flowers grow, playing cards, and trucking with her husband. She is survived by three children; John (Lisa) Chesnalavich Jr., Carrie (Mark) Marshall, Bobby Chesnalavich. Six grandchildren Alicia Chesnalavich, John (Teira) Chesnalavich III, Dustin Notto, Dylan Notto, Maria Notto, and Heidi Chesnalavich. Three great grandchildren, six nieces and five nephews. Siblings; Fred (Christy) Fleeger, Helen (Roland) Pierce and Cindy Domb. She was also preceded in death by her brother John C Fleeger Sr. and sister Brenda Clontz.   8. With profound sadness, we announce the unexpected death of John Patrick "Tippy" Camise, Jr., age 73 of DuBois, PA who died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at his home. Born on July 10, 1951 in DuBois, PA he was the son of the late John P. and Marilyn L. (Miller) Camise, Sr. He was married to Sharon M. (Smeal) Camise. Meeting in the mid 80's they formed an unbreakable bond that continued until the last day of his life. Tippy worked over 40 years in highway construction and inspection, ending his career working along side his son as an inspector for G A I Consultants. Tippy was often found at the ballfield or the gymnasium following his son and his granddaughter's many activities. He could always be counted on to lend assistance to any team they played for. Tip was often seen in his golf cart, preparing the field at Highland Street for Kenley's games. John was an avid wrestling fan and a member of the Penn State Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. He attended over 10 NCAA national championships in his life time. Tip was a life member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in Falls Creek. His proudest accomplishment, however, was being a family man. He is survived by his son, Dustin Camise and his wife Kayla and their daughter Kenley. They were the light of his life. Together, with Kenley he spent much time forming a bond that is deep in each of their hearts. They enjoyed countless hours of golf cart rides and watching you tube at "the land". Kenley always referred to him as "my Pap". He is also survived by three sisters, Linda Prutzman and her husband Pete, Nancy Schaffer and her husband Andy, and Donna Harpool and her partner Scott Nestlerode, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 11 AM from The Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Parish at St. Bernard in Falls Creek with Fr. John Malthaner as celebrant.   9. Edward S. Karoleski, Age 72 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, January 26, 2025 at his home. Born on November 28, 1952 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Leo C. and Ethel M. (Costello) Karoleski. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Ed retired from the National Fuel Gas Company after many years of service. He was a member of the Olympic Athletic Club and the Pulsaki Club. Ed also enjoyed hunting and loved to golf. Ed is survived by a daughter (Michelle Haley of DuBois, PA), a brother (Thomas Karoleski of Barto, PA), a sister (Rhonda Gallaher and her husband David of Columbus, NC), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Shanley Gallaher. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 p.m. from the funeral home with Fr. John Malthaner officiating.   10. Howard R. “Randy” Klaiber, formerly of St. Marys, PA, age 65 of Punxsutawney, PA, (Sykesville area) died, Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on May 29, 1959 in St. Marys, PA, he was the son of the late Herman and Eleanora (Leuschel) Klaiber. On January 19, 2001 he married Tina (Larson) Klaiber. She survives. Randy retired from Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital after a 20 year career in central supply. He enjoyed one year of retirement until he became ill. Randy loved riding motorcycles, hunting and enjoyed having a good time with his friends. Along with his wife, Randy is survived by one son (Chad Klaiber of Kane, PA) two daughters (Carrie Klaiber of Kane, PA and Stephanie Confer of Waco, TX) one sister (Julie Brouse of Glen Hazel, PA) eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a twin brother (Andy Klaiber). There will be no public visitation and services will be held at the convenience of the family.   11. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David J. "Davey" Aiello, 91, of Treasure Lake, PA. David passed peacefully on Sunday morning, January 12, 2025, at Penn Highlands DuBois after a brief illness. Born on March 23, 1933, in Johnsonburg, PA, David was the son of the late Gennaro and Frances (Chirillo) Aiello. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sylvia M. Benigni, of Ridgway, PA. David and Sylvia were united in marriage on July 11, 1959. David's life was defined by his commitment to family, community, and faith. A resident of Ridgway for most of his life before retiring to Treasure Lake, David was an accomplished entrepreneur, a trusted mentor, and a generous friend to many. His love for his family was boundless, and he took immense pride in their achievements, especially those of his seven grandchildren, whom he adored. Known for his kind heart, sharp wit, and selfless nature, David touched countless lives through his acts of kindness and service. He was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of St. Leo Magnus in Ridgway and St. Catherine of Siena in DuBois. He also honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. David is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia; his three devoted children: Beth (Fran) Aiello-Goldbach of DuBois, PA; Miki (Rick) Aiello-Imhof of Ridgway, PA; and Mark (Natalie) Aiello of Ridgway, PA; and to seven treasured grandchildren: Michael Imhof of Pittsburgh, PA; Dave Imhof of Ridgway, PA; Alexandra Goldbach of Pittsburgh, PA; Dominick Goldbach and fiancée Lindsay of Pittsburgh, PA; and Marcus, Mia, and Maddox Aiello of Ridgway, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joseph John Aiello; his seven brothers: Victor, Joseph, Arthur, Donald, Ernest, Robert, and John Aiello; and three sisters: Mary Caribardi, Eva Caribardi, and Sister John Francis. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church in DuBois, PA, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of David's favorite charity.   12. John "Jack" Miller, age 95, of Chestnut Grove, Luthersburg, PA peacefully passed on to his heavenly home at his residence on January 22, 2025. He was born at home in Falls Creek, PA on February 13, 1929 to Jess and Eva (Cobb) Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven older siblings; (Merle Miller and wife Madeline, Ross Miller and wife Betty, Jean Eckstein, Donna Weant, Marilyn Camise and husband John, and Martha Hallstrom and husband A.B.). John graduated from Falls Creek School along with fourteen classmates in 1948. He enjoyed playing football, baseball, basketball and softball. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving two combat tours in the Korean War. He was employed by the Bell Telephone Company for 36 years as a deskman in the test center. John married the love of his life Carol (Bourne) Miller on May 27, 1961 in Grantville, MD. She survives along with their five children, three sons (Wesley Miller and wife Kim of Arkansas, Andrew Miller of Pennsylvania, Dan Miller and wife Vicki of Georgia and two daughters Betsy Yost and husband John of Pennsylvania, and Amy Phillips and husband Michael of Pennsylvania). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. John was a member of First Baptist Church of DuBois, PA and drove bus for church and school activities for 19 years. He participated in several mission trips with the church including three trips to Haiti and one to France. He also, had been a private airplane pilot and donated a total of 17 gallons of blood to the Red Cross. He was a member of Bell Telephone Pioneers and Airplane Owners Pilot Association. His life was an enduring testimony of faith in Christ, love for family and steadfast leadership through life's blessings and challenges. While our hearts are heavy with the weight of this loss, we find comfort and hope in knowing that he is in the presence of Jesus and the assurance we have that this in not a final goodbye but a "see you later". There will be no public visitation and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will follow in Beechwoods Cemetery.   13. Dr. James "Jim" Kightlinger, age 92, of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in Brookville, PA. Born on January 20, 1933, in Corry, PA, he was the son of the late Francis and Martha (Staples) Kightlinger. Jim was raised in Corry, graduated from Corry Area High School, where he met his beloved wife of over 60 years, Jacquelyn "Jackie", who preceded him in death. Jim was proud to have served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After returning from service, Jim graduated from Gannon University and Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned his Doctorate in Osteopathy. Jim served his community by practicing medicine for over 50 years as a Chief Pathologist in both Sharon, PA, and Davenport, IA, and spent several years practicing family medicine in Mott and Richardton, ND, where he served both the local and Native American communities. Jim returned to Pennsylvania in the late 1980's focusing on emergency medicine in the Donora and DuBois areas. Jim was a devout Catholic with a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, promoting her rosary for many years. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Parish at St. Michael The Archangel, the Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus, and a Secular Carmelite. He was a member of the Treasure Lake Sportsmen's Club, and the Prostate Cancer Survivor and Breast Cancer Survivor Groups. Jim was preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers Michael and O'Brian, and sister, Patricia Schley. Jim is survived by his sister, Debbie Kightlinger of Erie, PA, and he and Jackie's seven children: David Kightlinger and his wife Joanne, Douglas Kightlinger and his wife Michelle, Jami Williamson and her husband Douglas, Jon T. Kightlinger and his wife Kathleen, Jan Jenniges and her husband Myrland, Linda Storz, and Eric Kightlinger and his wife; along with thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.   14. Yvonne E. Heilbrun, age 83 of Brookville, PA died Wednesday, January 15 , 2025 at her home. Born September 23, 1941 in Luthersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late James B. and Edna (Beam) Rosborough. On November 15, 1968 she married Joseph E. “Joe” Heilbrun. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2018 She was a private duty nurse for many years and was a lifelong member of the Warsaw Sportsman’s Club. She attended Richardsville United Methodist Church, loved her flowers and her cat, “Babydoll”. Yvonne was a strong fiercely independent, lovely, person that will be missed by many. Yvonne is survived by two brothers (Kenneth Rosborough of Battle Creek, MI and James G. Rosborough and his wife Judy of Luthersburg, PA) Yvonne was preceded in death by two sons (Robin and David Jamison), a brother (Charles Rosborough) and two sister (Joan Wycoff and Ellen Rosborough).   15. Tracy L. Davis, 55, of Reynoldsville, PA passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at her home. Born on October 10, 1969, in Dubois, PA. She was the daughter of Anna (Becker) Davis, who survives and lives in Reynoldsville. A lifelong resident of Reynoldsville, Tracy graduated from DuBois Area High School in 1988. She was employed as a hotel maid and retail cashier in her younger years. Most recently, Tracy was a homemaker. Tracy enjoyed spending time with her friends, family, and her dog and constant companion, Prince. In addition to her mother, Tracy is survived by a daughter, Erica Davis of DuBois; a son Gage (Bethany) Davis of Rural Valley, PA; a brother John Davis of Reynoldsville; a sister Robin (Troy) Tapper of Reynoldsville and her dog Prince; 2 nieces; and 3 nephews. (Runyan) Orcutt, Jr. He was an avid fan of football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed bowling and playing pool. Born on November 16, 1926 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Nellie (Kaieras) Zbieg Dorothy was married to Bernard P. Laukitis. He preceded her in death on April 18, 1987. Dorothy was a homemaker and had worked at the Lithuanian Independence Club and for Gleason, Cherry and Cherry. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the former Lithuanian Independence Club. Dorothy is survived by a son (Terry Laukitis and his wife Denise of Sykesville, PA), 3 grandsons (Nicholas Laukitis and his wife Bri, Kyle Laukitis and his wife Courtney, and Steven Laukitis), a granddaughter (Courtney Laukitis), and 3 great grandchildren (Elizabeth, Audrey, and Harper).   19. Judith A. Weichman Davis, Age 76 of DuBois, PA died Monday, January 13, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on October 31, 1948 in St. Marys, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Frances "Mabel" (Fritz) Weichman. Judi was a 1966 graduate of Elk County Christian High School. Judi retired as a receptionist from Christ the King Manor in DuBois. Previous to that, she had worked years at Simpson Communication for many years. Judi enjoyed and took great pride in crocheting for the residents at Christ the King Manor. She attended Lakeside Church and enjoyed participating in church activities. She is survived by her son (Chris A. Glatt and his wife Jamie of Oil City, PA), 2 sisters (Lois Alphonso of St. Marys, PA and Amy Freed and her husband Alan of Ambridge, PA), a brother (James Weichman of St. Marys, PA), 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Glatt, who died on March 10, 1972, her son, Charles C. Glatt, who passed away on February 18, 2019, a brother-in-law, Edward Alphonso, and a sister-in-law Patricia Weichman.   20. Daniel Smrekar, age 78 of Brookville, PA died Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Born on August 12, 1946 in Kane, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Clara (Dietz) Smrekar. Dan was a graduate of Kane High School and attended Gannon University. On September 13, 1975 he married his wife of 49 years, Jocelynn L. (Hartzell) Smrekar. She survives. Dan retired from the DuBois Courier Express as a reporter and columnist after over 20 years of service. He covered the outdoors, local news and sports and was well known for his column “ Painless Reading” He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church where he was a lector. Dan was also a member of the Toby Creek Watershed Association. Dan was a youth soccer coach and referee, and enjoyed hunting, hiking, and camping with his friends and family. Above all, he loved to fly fish in the Pennsylvania wilderness. Dan is survived by one son (Toby Smrekar and his wife Michelle of Dunedin, New Zealand) two daughters (Briana Smrekar of Davis, WV and Brookville, PA and Molly Jill Smrekar and son-in-law John Brundege, and his three grandchildren, Jillian, Kasey and Wesley Owen Brundege all of Brookville, PA).   21. William B. Miles, age 87 of DuBois, PA passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Sunday, January 12, 2025 at his home. Born on July 21, 1937 in Irvona, PA, he was the son of the late Melvin and Ruth (McCully) Miles. Bill was a graduate of Beccaria-Coalport-Irvona High School where he starred in basketball. On August 22, 1958 he married his wife of 65 years, Sandra "Joan" (Killion) Miles. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2024. Bill retired as the office manager at Pace Precision Tool & Die Company after many years of service. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, and had been a 50-year member of the DuBois Alliance Church where he served as a board member for many years. Bill loved the outdoors, was an avid fly fisherman and loved to hunt. Bill is survived by two daughters (Debra Myers and her husband Philip of DuBois, PA and Joyce Mong and her husband Troy of New Bethlehem, PA), and one grandson (Philip Myers, Jr. and his wife Jordan of DuBois, PA), one sister (Janet Duttry of DuBois PA), one brother (Ken Miles and his wife Donna of Tyrone, PA), and numerous nieces and nephews.   22. Jean M. “Jeanie” Roseman, Age 75 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, January 9, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family. Born on September 21, 1949 in Ridgway, PA she was the daughter of the late Ellery and Marie (Schreiber) Stoughton. On September 5, 1970 she married John P. “Jack” Roseman. He survives. Jeanie retired from Penn Highlands as a registered nurse after 46 years of service. She was the supervisor of the Obstetrical Unit. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and was a member of AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health Obstetrical and Neo-Natal Nurses). She enjoyed antiquing, decorating her home and was associated with Primerica Financial Services. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially grandchildren. Jeanie is survived by three daughters (Melissa Baird and her wife Lorianne Barbey of State College, PA, Laura Tilson and her husband Cam, Jr., and Joanna Connor and her husband Dennis, both of DuBois, PA), one son (Matthew Roseman and his wife Amanda of Oregon), 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as a niece that she raised after her mother’s death, Sarah Roseman (Steve Fulton) of Illinois, one brother (Kenneth Kerner and his wife Kathy of California), and one sister (Cathy McAllister and her husband Robert of Hyde, PA).   23. William K. Van Sice, age of 90 of Penfield, PA died Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on November 9, 1934 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late George and Annabelle (Hess) Van Sice. On August 24, 1963, he married Marilyn L. (Dennison) Van Sice. She preceded him in death on February 24, 1991. Bill was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and retired as the owner and operator of Van Sice Repair. Previous to that he had worked at Shaw Mack and McDowell Manufacturing. He took great pride in rebuilding antique tractors, taking his prize possessions to many tractor shows. Above all, he loved his family and friends and their time together. Although, a man of very few words, he will be missed by all. Bill is survived by one daughter (Charmaine “Sherry” Johnson and her husband Rick of Reynoldsville, PA), four grandchildren (Ricky Johnson and his wife Kelli, Keith Johnson, Katie Selfridge and her husband Dean and Tim Gougeon and his wife Ann) eight great-grandchildren and one brother (Carl VanSice and his wife Linda).   24. Richard D. “Dick” Trudgen, Sr., age 78 of DuBois, PA died Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital. Born on April 18, 1946 in Kittanning, PA, he was the son of the late Richard H. and Pearl (Timmerberg) Trudgen. On September 9, 1978, he married his wife of 46 years, Bethea “Beth” (Helgert) Trudgen. She survives. Dick retired from the DuBois Area School District after a 32 ½ year career as a music teacher. After his retirement, he worked in the parts department of Wilkinson Subaru in Curwensville for 11 years. Dick attended Christ Lutheran Church and was a member of the Wheels of Yesteryear Car Club. He was currently the president of the DuBois Area School Retirees, and took great pride in being the conductor of the DuBois Area Community Band and being a member of the DuBois Area Honor Guard. He is survived by his three children (Stefanie Penvose and her husband Jacob, and Richard Trudgen and his wife Missy, both of DuBois, PA, and Ryan Trudgen of Peoria, AZ), a grandson (William Penvose), four sisters (Pamela Baumgartner of Venice, FL, Cheryl Burke of Fenelton, PA, Dana Ball of Madisonville, KY, and Debra Snyder of Cowansville, PA), and two brothers (Dan Painter, Jr. of Murrells Inlet, SC and Robert Painter of Kittanning, PA). He was preceded in death by one sister (Barbara Claypoole), and his step father (Dan Painter, Sr.).
