John Luther Loving, age 83, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 15, 2021.

John was born on September 12, 1937 in DuBois, PA. He was the only son of the late John and Caroline Loving. He was pre-deceased by his parents.

John grew up in DuBois, graduating from DHS with the class of 1955. He attended the University of Kentucky and graduated in 1959, with a BS degree in mechanical engineering.

During his career he worked for several international corporations involved in design and construction of major infrastructure projects. Much of his career included assignments all over the world, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. He last worked for Parsons Corp in Pasadena, CA, specializing in airport design and construction. He retired in 2002, after completing a major expansion of Cleveland International Airport in Ohio. Upon retirement, he returned to his home town and settled in Treasure Lake.

John was a man of multiple interests and hobbies. He was a rabid fan of his U.K. Wildcats basketball team. An accomplished marksman and archer in his teen years, he was a car enthusiast, as well as an enthusiast of antique transportation machinery. He restored a steam powered launch, in which he enjoyed sailing for many years, and was his pride and joy.

John had many friends located around the country and in Europe. He was married only once in 1967, to a Danish girl. No children resulted from that union, and although the marriage ended, the two remained very good friends the remainder of their lives.

John was an avid reader, a history buff, and very knowledgeable of American and European history. He was knowledgeable on a variety of subjects, which made him an interesting and accomplished conversationalist. John was generous with his know how, and help for his friends. He would do anything for you. He will be deeply missed by his friends.
