Bone Marrow Registry Event and Blood Drive (Sept 17 & 20)

1.    A bone marrow registry drive will be held at PH DuBois West on Tuesday, September 17, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (see attached) and at Penn State DuBois on Thursday, October 24, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. You can be on the donor list for marrow if you meet the criteria.  Why do we encourage the registry program? Because thousands of people are diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers, like leukemia and lymphoma, and a cure exists – the donation of healthy bone marrow from someone who is caring and giving. 

2.    Donate blood. The Community Blood Bank will be at PH DuBois from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM on Friday, September 20, in the Central Resource Center. For an appointment, go to https://www.ourdonorssavelives.org/donor/auth/signin/. If you do not have an account, it is easy to make one.  Or just walk in the day of the drive.  Why donate? Because CBB is the official supplier of blood products to PHH, and every blood type is needed for our patients. Roll up your sleeves. One pint can save the lives of three people.
