BROOKVILLE - Management of UTI and Foley Catheters in Elderly Patients will be presented by Dr. Kumaresan Ganabathi, urologist, and Suzanne B. Wortman, BS, Pharm D, BCPS, pharmacist, at BrookvilleHospital at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the Brookville Hospital in the Education Conference Center.
During the program, which is free to attend, they will review the latest guidelines for catheter-associated urinary tract infections, asymptomatic bacteriuria and acute uncomplicated cystitis and pyelonephritis in women. They will also discuss how to determine when cultures are necessary, when treatment is appropriate and define the drugs of choice for each of the above and the duration of therapy for each.
Though continuing education credits are being offered for physicians, this program is open to anyone who is interested.
