Administrators Pompeii Posted October 4, 2017 Administrators Share Posted October 4, 2017 Irene M. Laukitis, age 90, of Orient Avenue, DuBois, PA died Wednesday, October 04, 2017 at her home. Born November 10, 1926 in Soldier, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Povalitis) Jenitis. On May 3, 1947 she married Ralph E. Laukitis. He survives. They were married for 70 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. First and foremost, she loved being with her family, and she also enjoyed visiting Washington, D.C. and gardening. Irene is survived by four children (Karen Doane and her husband James of Lancaster, PA, Daniel Laukitis and his wife Cindy of Salem, PA, Kenneth Laukitis and Brenda of Westville, PA and Michael Laukitis and his wife Tammy of Ruckersville, VA); one brothers (Victor Jenitis of Florida); nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by one daughter (Deborah Harris); three sisters (Jenny Sandy, Alice Volkosky and Mary Kearns); two brothers (Joseph and John Jenitis) and two infant siblings. There will be no public visitation A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be placed with Penn Highlands Hospice, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
