(Verbka) Swope, age 73 of Luthersburg, PA, died Tuesday, January 26,2021 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on July 4, 1947 in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rudy and Dolly (Salsgiver) Verbka, Sr. On September 29, 1973 she married Michael D. Swope, Sr. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2014. Diana was a homemaker and was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ in Luthersburg, PA. She was a kind soul who will be missed by many. Diana always lit up a room and enjoyed being around people. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by 1 son (Michael D. Swope, Jr. and his wife Wendy) and 1 daughter (Rebecca S. Bentley and her husband Kevin) both of DuBois, PA, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter (Melissa Miller), 2 grandchildren; (Harley and Jamie Schuckers) and 1 brother (Rudy Verbka, Jr.). Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 2 -4 PM and 6 -8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Social distancing requirements will be followed and masks must be worn. Due to attendance regulations, we ask that you keep you visit brief to allow others to pay their respects. A private family funeral service will be held. Burial will be in St. Luke’s United Church of Christ Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
