Sandra J. Murray of Treasure Lake, DuBois, Pa. died at her residence on 6 June, 2021, attended by her husband and Hospice Care nursing staff.

She was born in Middletown, NY in February 1948; her parents, Robert and Shirley Murray predeceased her.  She was also predeceased by her stepson Jorgen Singer, and several members of her husband’s family in Butler, Pa. who were very dear to her.

She was married to David Singer for 30 years and they moved to Treasure Lake from Kingston, NY, in 2007.  He survives.

She is also survived by step daughter Kirsten Ford, her husband Jared Ford and three grandchildren, Aidan, Caleb and Norah Ruth of Glenville, NY.  Her surviving siblings are Shirley, Robert and Steven Murray, all of New York State, along with numerous nieces, nephews and children; she considered numerous remaining family relatives in Butler, Pa. to be loved ones.

She was very appreciative of the quality hospice care provided by the nursing staff at the DuBois Penn Highlands Community Nurses program.

Sandra worked for the New York State Office of Mental Health for 35 years.  A graduate of Syracuse University, the New School for Social Research, NYC, and the Ackerman Institute for the Family, NYC, she was a Registered Nurse, a certified family therapist and a Hospital Administrator.  She served in various professional positions during her career and thoroughly enjoyed the challenges presented by working with mentally ill patients or employees.

She was a conservative political activist in the tea party movement and supported the Clearfield County Republican Committee.  The values of personal achievement, individual responsibility and protection of our God given individual rights were at the core of her beliefs.  She was involved in volunteer committee membership at Treasure Lake, was an NRA Life Member and member of the Treasure Lake Sportsman’s Club.  She enjoyed spending time in prayer, caring for her cats and husband, reading, skiing, renovating the residence in Treasure Lake and practicing golf and shooting.  She dearly loved her husband’s fraternity brothers and wives and she looked forward to their annual reunion each year, hosting several events at her home in Treasure Lake.

She entered the Roman Catholic Church in 2015 and was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Parish in DuBois.  The last six years of her life were the most personally satisfying and fulfilling of her entire life, because of her involvement with and dedication to her faith. She expressed her appreciation of spiritual guidance and support to Father Daniel Kresinski, Msgr. Richard Siefer and Father Steven Neff.
