Administrators Pompeii Posted March 9, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 9, 2022 Irmgard E. Johnston, age 95 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Christ the King Manor. Born on November 29, 1926 in the former Ayrs, East Prussia, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Auguste (Kischkewitz) Christofzik. On November 20, 1948, she married Harry Johnston. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2007. Irmgard was a homemaker and previous to that, she had worked at the former Jefferson Electronics. She was a very talented seamstress and needlework artist. She loved flowers and was well known for her flower gardens. She was very musically inclined. Irmgard played the accordion, loved classical music and when she was in Germany, was the director of a choir. Irmgard is survived by her children (Norman H. Johnston and his wife MaryDee of DuBois, PA and Lori A. Stuart and her husband Robert of Falls Creek, PA) and 2 grandchildren (Jennifer R. Montanino and her husband Steve of Rochester, NY and Amy H. Johnston of DuBois, PA). She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister. There will be no public visitation. A private family funeral service will be held from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Terry Felt officiating. Burial will take place in Salem Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Gateway Humane Society, PO Box 678, Falls Creek, PA 15840 and/or Purrfect Paws Cat Rescue, 206 East Logan Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
