David F. Miknis, age 86 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the DuBois Nursing Home.


Born on December 24, 1936 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Markievich) Miknis.


On June 20, 1964 he married Marlene (Kosko) Miknis. She preceded him in death on October 13, 2013.


He was a veteran of the United States Army.


Dave had worked for Triangle Auto Springs. Previous to that, he worked for the B & O Railroad.
He was a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and the Lithuanian Independent Club. Dave enjoyed fly fishing, tying flies and looking for rattlers. He would sit for hours studying Sam King maps. He taught his three sons at a very early age to fly fish.
Dave is survived by his children (Suzanne Bembenic and her husband Doug, David Miknis and his wife Donna, Ronald Miknis and his wife Cheri and Daniel Miknis and his wife Kim, all of DuBois, PA), grandchildren (Kayla Haag, Adam and Lauren Strishock, Emily Miknis, Cori Woelkers, Ben    Miknis, Cassidy Mauk, and Jacob and Justin Miknis), eight great grandchildren and four brothers (Fran, Jerry, William and John Miknis).


He was preceded in death by one sister (Mary Jean Miknis).
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10 AM from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.


Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.


Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
