John V. “Jack” Good, age 87 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, December 21, 2023 at his home.


Born on February 27, 1936 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Vincent J. and Helen (Sovich) Good.               


On May 10, 1958 he married Margie A. (Gresock) Good. She preceded him in death on August 9, 2020.


Jack was a veteran of the United States Army.


He retired from the Brockway Glass Company in 1999 with 20 years of service, and also had his own family tree removal service.


Jack was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved playing the guitar and singing with his family and friends. Jack also taught his grandchildren how to play the guitar. He loved country music, polka music and polka dancing.


Jack is survived by his sons; Vincent, Joseph (Dawneen) , Hank (Wendy), and Jason (Lois) Good, daughters; Torrey Myer (Craig), Jolene Potash and Tonya Lyons (Scott), grandchildren; (Breanna, Zackary, Larina, Katrina, Gage, Brody, Levi, Andrew, Charley, Jackie and Dustin), great grandchildren; (Gaven, Aaliyah, Nathan, Bennett and Zachary), and one brother, Robert Good (Denise).


He was preceded in death by his son (Randy Good) and two granddaughters; (Kristi Fairman and Lexi Lee Lyons), one brother (William Good) and one sister (Helen Dillman).


There will be no public visitation.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 11 AM from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church at  St. Michael the Archangel with Msgr. Charles Kaza and Msgr. Richard Siefer and Father Ben Daghir as con-celebrants.


Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the church.


Interment will take place in St. Michael Cemetery.


Memorial donations may be made in the form of a Mass in Jack’s memory to a Catholic Church of the donor’s choice.


The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
