She initially worked at Allegheny General Hospital but spent most of her career at DuBois Area High School as the Head Nurse.  Her office was the social hub at the school as she always made the faculty and students feel welcomed and cared for.  She worked there for over 30 years.  After she retired, she kept busy with volunteering at the DuBois Hospital Gift Shop as well as the DuBois Area Chamber of Commerce.

Marilyn lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to her family. She was known for her kindness and generosity to all.  There was not a person that she wasn’t willing to have over for dinner.  Marilyn was a master cook who authored a cookbook with her sister and cousin which adorns the shelves of many.   Her family considered her to be the end all be all of wives, mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers, and mothers-in-law.  She loved us openly and fiercely.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Lori O’Connor, and her husband John of Charlottesville, VA; her grandchildren, Danny and Katherine O’Connor, and  Evan Grabowski and his wife Whitney, her great grandchildren;  Lilly and Asher Grabowski, and Chloe Hain ) , her son-in-law John Grabowski, and her sister Donna Bailey and her husband Elmo of DuBois, PA.
