Administrators Pompeii Posted January 11 Administrators Share Posted January 11 Joseph A. Volosky, Sr., age 78 , of DuBois, PA , died Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at his home. Born on September 3, 1945, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Ferdinand “Fritz” and Mae (Yale) Volosky. On August 21, 1965, he married his wife of 58 years, Sherry (Trude) Volosky. She survives. Joe retired as the mechanic at UPS in DuBois after 32 years of service. He was a member of Sabula Methodist Church, and was a founding and lifetime member of the Sabula Volunteer Fire Company. Joe was also a member of the Treasure Lake Sportsman’s Club and the Counter Punch Program for Parkinson’s Disease at Turn About Boxing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing. Joe is survived by his children (Joey Volosky, Jr. and his wife Sahlee and Tricia Hess both of DuBois, PA), 5 grandchildren (Justin Hess & his wife Meghan, Danielle Kane & her husband Jim, Joshua Hess, Gavin Volosky & his wife Julie, and Shelby Volosky), 6 great grandchildren (Jackson, Parker, Aubrie, & Cooper Hess, and Sophia and JT Kane), and a brother, (Fred Volosky of DuBois, PA). He was preceded in death by his sister (Charlotte Shaw), and son in law (Jim Hess). Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Butch Brunner officiating. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
