John C. “Jack” Dugan, age 82 of DuBois, PA died Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Christ The King Manor.


Born on June 25, 1941 in Turtle Creek, PA, he was the son of the late Regis and Catherine (Tahanney) Dugan.


He was married to Barbara Ann (Panati) Dugan. She preceded him in death on January 5, 2012.


Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War.


He was a Pennsylvania State Trooper, retiring in 1992 after a 25-year career.


Jack was a life member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17 where he had served as the Commander in both 1984 and 1993, the DuBois Volunteer Fire Department’s Fourth Ward Hose Company and the James J. Patterson Post 813 VFW. He also belonged to the Falls Creek Eagles and the Olympic Athletic Club. Jack was a volunteer driver for the Veteran’s Administration and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.


Jack is survived by one daughter (Angela Rucinski of DuBois, PA), two granddaughters (Kaitlin Rucinski of Seville, OH and Amber Zimmerman of Greensburg, PA), and one grandson (Jonathan Zimmerman of DuBois, PA), five brothers (Regis, Jr., Thomas, Kevin, Michael and James Dugan) and one sister (Theresa Dugan).


He was preceded in death by one daughter (Kerrie Zimmerman), three sisters (Beth, Maggie and Catherine) and two infant siblings.


Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.


A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.


Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.


Memorial donations may be made to Fourth Ward Hose Company, 250 South Brady Street, and / or the American Legion, Post 17, 315 Liberty Boulevard, both in DuBois, PA 15801.
