Joan Eileen Thompson Trump, Age 86 of DuBois, PA, formerly of Philipsburg, PA, died Friday, February 2, 2024 at Christ the King Manor.


Born on October 14, 1937 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nell (Nedzinski) Thompson.


On December 5, 1959, she married her husband of 44 years, Robert E. Trump, Sr.  He preceded her in death on August 2, 2004.


She was a graduate of the DuBois Area High School and then went on to graduate from the Clearfield Hospital School of Nursing.


Joan was a registered nurse and retired from the office of Dr. Patrick L. Gianopoulos, MD after 33 years of service.  She was also employed by the Philipsburg State General Hospital.


She had been a member of St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Philipsburg, a board member of both the Mo Valley YMCA and the American Red Cross, a Girl Scout leader of over 10 years, and had been the President of the Philipsburg PTA.  She especially enjoyed attending daily mass at Christ the King Manor.


Joan is survived by 4 children ( Laura Gray of Osceola Mills, PA; Diane Gorby & her husband Mark of Grantville, SC, Mary White of State College, PA, and Robert Trump, Jr. and his husband Curtis Huffman of Mesa, AZ), 2 sisters (Susan Wesdock & her husband John of DuBois, PA, and Rosemary Murdock & her husband Dan of Brookville, PA), a brother (Tim Thompson of Columbiana, AL), 8 grandchildren (Adam White, A. Kyle Gorby, Matthew Gray, Haley Zarger, Michael Gray, Jonathan White, Julianne Maines, and Nicholas Gray), 13 great grandchildren, a brother in law (Joseph Hassan), and 2 sisters in law (Frances Weller and Carol McNamee).


She was preceded in death by her sister (Loretta Hassan).


Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 6, 2024 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. from the Chapel at Christ the King Manor with Fr. Matias Quimno as celebrant.


Burial will follow in Philipsburg Cemetery.
