Losetta J. "Bonnie" Baroni, age 81 of Woodbine, MD, formerly of DuBois, PA, died Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD.

Born on July 14, 1942 in Clearfield, PA, she was the daughter of the late Millard E. and Losetta Mary Ellen (Hoover) Graffius.

On August 27, 1960, she married Donald C. Baroni.  He preceded her in death on March 5, 2006.

Bonnie retired in 2008 from DuBois Regional Medical Center after 35 years of service as an x-ray technician.

While her children were in elementary school, Bonnie worked in the school district as a reading aide. Reading and reading education continued to be a passion for her, and she was awarded her own classroom at Lisbon Elementary, where she volunteered as a reading aide for children who needed extra help.  She later created a summer book club for her grandchildren and their friends during their middle school years to encourage reading and discussion.

She was a devoted Steelers and Penguins fan, but also a fan of any sport involving her children and grandchildren - from baseball for her sons to swimming, soccer, basketball, softball, cross-country, track, and lacrosse for her grandchildren - you could hear her yelling from the stands or sideline.

Bonnie baked the best Christmas cookies - long before Food Network made baking cool - and shared them generously with co-workers, friends, and family.  She passed her love of baking to her children and grandchildren.
There was no craft she would not try.  A favorite past-time was attending craft shows then trying to recreate an item with the help of her friends or Tracy.

For the past 18 years she accompanied her children and grandchildren to the Outer Banks for a week or more each summer.  A margarita on the deck overlooking the ocean or bay with her family around her was her favorite way to end a summer day.
She is survived by her daughter (Tracy Baroni Allmon and her husband William of Woodbine, MD), her son (Dr. Anthony Baroni and his wife Carrie of Franklin Park, PA), 6 grandchildren (Piper, Luke, Spencer, and Bailey Allmon, and Caleb and Skyler Baroni), and a sister (Tamara Peterson & husband Michael of Hudson, OH).

She was preceded in death by her son, Donald C. Baroni, who died in 2016, and 2 brothers.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, February 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.

Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 600 River Ave., Suite 400, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
