Regis J. Felix, age 86 of DuBois, PA died Friday, February 23, 2024 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.


Born on September 26, 1937, in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Patrick and Anna (Krystofek) Felix, Sr.


He was a 1956 graduate of Sykesville High School where he played football, basketball and baseball, and was a 1967 graduate of the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.


Regis was a United States Army Reservist for the 629th Transportation Division.


On December 1, 1989 he married Donna J. (Anderson) Felix. She survives.


Regis retired from the State of Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation as a counselor after 33 years of service. He was awarded the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor of the Year for the State of Pennsylvania. Previous to that, he had worked for the B&O Railroad for 7 years.


He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and often attended St. Bernard in Falls Creek.


Regis was active for many years with Federation League Baseball where he had served as past president, and managed the Troutville Tigers for many years. He coached St. Catherine basketball and DuBois Central  basketball for 11 years. Regis also worked for many years for Sunny 106.5 Radio as the voice of Brockway Rover Football and DuBois Central Catholic Basketball. Regis also announced many DuBois Little League All Star baseball games.


He is survived by one son (Rod Felix and his wife Julie of DuBois, PA), one step daughter (Shari Massini and her husband Steve of Harrisburg, PA), seven grandchildren (Matthew (Joshua), Jakob, Zane, Morgan, Ashley (Kurt), Kelsie (Chad), and Emily), two great grandchildren (Cameron and Madison), a brother (Theodore Felix and his wife Janet of Falls Creek, PA) and two sisters (Bernadette “Bunny” Felix and Mary Jo Ulishney, both of DuBois, PA),   Regis is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.


Regis was preceded in death by three brothers (Edward, John Paul, and Patrick Felix, Jr.) and three sisters ( Ann Shilala, Jean Bauer and Marcella Kuritz).


Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.


A family rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. All are welcome.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 11 a.m. from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Parish at St. Catherine of Siena with Fr. Edward Walk as celebrant.                


Burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery.


Memorial donations may be made to DuBois Central Catholic, PO Box 567 and/or Christ the King Manor, 1100 West Long Avenue, both in DuBois, PA 15801.
