Spinda, Sr., age 86 of DuBois, PA passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital. Born on July 20, 1937 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late George and Grace (Ferguson) Spinda. On September 26, 1959 he married Ebba M. (Swanson) Spinda. She survives. Bob was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Consolidated Natural Gas as a well tender. Previous to that, he had worked at Highway Oil Company and the B&O Railroad. Bob was a member of Tri County Church. He was a longtime member of the Old Towne Beagle Club, was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. He is also survived by his children (LeeAnn Toombs and her husband Joe of Reynoldsville, PA, Mark Spinda and his wife Tina of Sykesville, PA, Robert Spinda, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Karen Nelson and her husband Dave of DuBois, PA) seven grandchildren (Erik Toombs, Justine Jordan, Seth, Ethan and Matthew Nelson, and Kathryn Irvin and Courtney LaBorde), six great grandchildren (Julian, Kona, Dominic, Ebaney, Deklyn and Silas) and one brother (Gary Spinda of Lancaster, PA). There will be no public visitation. A private family funeral service will be held at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Chris Trethewey officiating.
