Godak, Age 85 of DuBois, PA died Friday, March 15, 2024 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on November 16, 1938 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Alice (Wilson) Sherkosky. On February 2, 1957, she married Thomas J. Godak. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2006. Joan was a homemaker. She was an avid fan of football, especially of the Kansas City Chiefs. She also enjoyed Bingo, working in her yard, and was a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family. Joan is survived by three children (Christopher J. Godak of Brookville, PA; and Thomas J. Godak and Michelle R. Godak, both of DuBois, PA), five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and her sister (Kathleen Vitarelli of DuBois, PA). She was preceded in death by her sister (Debra Sherkosky) and her brother (Andrew Sherkosky). A private family visitation and funeral service will be held at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
