Francis D. “Brownie” Rosana, age 90 of Reynoldsville, PA (Soldier), died Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the DuBois Nursing Home.


Born on April 14, 1933 in Adrian, PA, He was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Baran) Rosana.


On May 1, 1954 he married Catherine “Tookie” (Meholick) Rosana. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1988.


He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War.


Brownie was the owner/operator of his own trucking company for over 60 years.


He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Sykesville, PA, the American Legion Post 345 in Sykesville,  and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1231 in Punxsutawney, PA.


Brownie loved polka music and polka dancing, and he never missed his son’s Sunday Morning Polka Party. Above all, he was a wonderful and caring father and grandfather.


He is survived by his children (Francis J. “Big Moose” Rosana and his wife Patricia Lynn of Soldier, PA and Karen Gillen and her husband John of Kersey, PA), two grandchildren (Francis J. Rosana, Jr. and Joseph F. Rosana),  two step grandchildren (Tyrus and Brady Gillen), two great grandchildren (Braden and Deven),and one sister (Helen Marie Bair of Punxsutawney, PA). Brownie is also survived by his longtime companion (Nellie Longo), as well as many nieces and nephews.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 4 – 7 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10 AM from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Parish at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.


Burial will take place in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery.


Memorial donations may be made to Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Parish at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 116 South State Street, DuBois, PA 15801.
