Administrators Pompeii Posted April 24 Administrators Share Posted April 24 Terry "Horty" Horton, 78, of DuBois, PA passed away surrounded by family on Monday, April 22, 2024. Terry grew up in East Smithfield, PA and attended S.R.U. High School where he set the all-time school scoring record in basketball. After high school, Terry attended Mansfield University on a baseball scholarship. Terry was a career educator starting as a teacher in Bradford County and eventually becoming the director of the Clearfield County Vocational Technical School. Terry was an avid golfer and hunter. He was happily married to his loving wife Jill and treasured both his time with family and his time in the woods in Bradford County. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan. Terry was predeceased by his father J. T. Horton, and mother Wilma Horton. He is survived by his brother George Horton of Hamden, CT, his wife Jill Horton of DuBois, PA, his children Tamara Horton of Apex, NC, Amanda Horton of Winder, GA, and Scott Horton of Freehold, NJ. He has six grandchildren, Braden Miller, Christopher Miller, Jake Proctor, Niko Gittens, Jack Horton, and Theo Horton. There will be no public visitation, and a celebration of life in Bradford County at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Olympic Athletic Club Scholarship Fund, PO Box 234, DuBois, PA 15801. The Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
