Marc Leo “Hano” Hanlon, age 63 of DuBois, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Christ the King Manor after fighting a valiant 20+ year battle with brain cancer. Born on December 19, 1960, in Clearfield, PA, he was the son of the late Patrick Hanlon and Marie (Bertocchi) Hanlon. His mother survives and lives in DuBois. Marc was a 1979 graduate of Central Christian High School and proudly belonged to Goodwill Hose Company #5. He spent two years in the Army Reserves in Fort Knox, KY and professionally became a certified Plumber/Pipe Fitter. With that union position, Marc traveled extensively working on hospitals, prisons, schools and even nuclear power plants. He was incredibly brilliant and quick witted. Always maintaining his independence and sense of humor, Marc enjoyed singing, drumming and had an appreciation for music. He could often be heard singing to his tunes at the Manor. Along with his mother, Marc is survived by his daughter(Kendahl Rose Belman and her husband Aaron), his ex-wife (Susan (Smith) Kohn and husband Mike), two sisters (Kim Hanlon and Tricia Mower and her husband Cliff, and three brothers (Tim Hanlon and his wife Elona, Jeff Hanlon and his wife Jenn and Chris Hanlon and his wife Sarah Rienzi). There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10 a.m. from the Chapel at Christ the King Manor with Fr. Matias Quimno as celebrant. A dinner will follow at Christ the King Community Center – ALL friends and family are welcome. Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery. Lucas Martinez, 61, who also goes by Lucas Martinezmendieta, according to the Anacortes Police Department, was arrested on charges of third-degree rape of a child, commercial sexual abuse of a minor and communication with a minor for immoral purposes. According to an affidavit obtained by Task & Purpose, Martinez allegedly went to the home of a 14-year-old boy he met online. Wearing his green camouflage Navy Working Uniform, Martinez paid $200 to have sex, according to the affidavit. Martinez also allegedly used an official Navy phone line to contact the boy after their meetup. Despite the seriousness of the charges, Martinez was released Monday and remains attached to Fleet Readiness Center Northwest (FRCNW). Paul R. McAninch, age 93 of DuBois, PA died Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Christ the King Manor. Born on April 22, 1930 in Big Run, PA, he was the son of the late Glen and Edith (Hipchen) McAninch. On April 21, 1951 he married Madelyn (Rosman) McAninch. She preceded him in death on October 28, 2023. Paul was a veteran of the United States Army having service in the Korean War. Paul retired from Preston Trucking in West Middlesex and Falls Creek after many years of service. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Byzantine Catholic Church in Sykesville and the Knights of Columbus Council 519. Paul is survived by two children; (Daniel T. Francis D. “Brownie” Rosana, age 90 of Reynoldsville, PA (Soldier), died Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the DuBois Nursing Home. Born on April 14, 1933 in Adrian, PA, He was the son of the late Frank and Helen (Baran) Rosana. On May 1, 1954 he married Catherine “Tookie” (Meholick) Rosana. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1988. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. Brownie was the owner/operator of his own trucking company for over 60 years. He was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church in Sykesville, PA, the American Legion Post 345 in Sykesville, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1231 in Punxsutawney, PA. Brownie loved polka music and polka dancing, and he never missed his son’s Sunday Morning Polka Party. Above all, he was a wonderful and caring father and grandfather. He is survived by his children (Francis J. “Big Moose” Rosana and his wife Patricia Lynn of Soldier, PA and Karen Gillen and her husband John of Kersey, PA), two grandchildren (Francis J. Rosana, Jr. and Joseph F. Rosana), two step grandchildren (Tyrus and Brady Gillen), two great grandchildren (Braden and Deven),and one sister (Helen Marie Bair of Punxsutawney, PA). Brownie is also survived by his longtime companion (Nellie Longo), as well as many nieces and nephews. Judith Ann Moore Veronesi died peacefully after a courageous battle with throat cancer on March 18, 2024. She was born June 2, 1936 in Browning, MO, to Beverly (Duncan) and Robert Moore. Baptized into the Christian faith at an early age, Judy remained a faithful believer throughout her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend—known for her quick and curious mind, her sense of humor, her fierce loyalty, and her fighting spirit. After graduating from Liberty High School in Browning (class of 1954), Judy went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO. She was an active member of Tri Sigma sorority and a fourth generation PEO sister. She also sang professionally (for two seasons) with the Muny Opera in St. Louis. During that time, Judy met her husband of 66 years, Dr. John (Jack) Veronesi. Jack, who was attending medical school nearby, and came across a photo of Judy as homecoming queen in the newspaper. He vowed to meet her, and the rest is history! Following her graduation, Judy spent two years teaching physical education to middle schoolers in the Kirksville public school system while Jack finished medical school. In 1960, the couple moved to Grove City for Jack’s residency before ultimately settling in Cambridge Springs, PA. Judy was a loving full-time mother to her three children: Robert (b. 1958), Cynthia (b. 1960), and Brent (b. 1962). In 1975, the family moved to DuBois, where they would live for nearly five decades. Judy was a beloved and active member of her community at Treasure Lake. She was a founding member of the Association of Women Investors and her bridge club, remaining involved in both groups for over forty years. She also loved her golfing and bowling leagues and enjoyed working at Leonardson’s of DuBois using her flair as fashion coordinator for many local charity fashion shows. Most of all, she treasured her family and friends—who came from far and wide to visit on her patio and taste her famous Missouri recipes, like her fried chicken and chocolate fudge. Judy was a proud Missourian and never lost her love of her native state. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack (September 2023), both her parents, and her beloved sister, Cynthia Dotson (October 1993). She is survived by her two sons, Robert and Brent Veronesi of Port Matilda, and Boalsburg, PA, and their wives, Meredith Veronesi and Dr. Robin Oliver Veronesi; her daughter, Cynthia Delaney of Encinitas, CA, and her husband Tom Delaney; her six grandchildren, Alexa, Cam, Julia, Olivia, Victoria, and Rocco; and her niece, Dr. Jane Dotson Reed of Kansas City, MO.
