  1. I take photos of this barn all the time. It sits on top of a mountain top where the light is often good. I take photos of it in the morning, at sunset, and in the middle of the night. I think I may have shown you a photo of it recently. Anyways, I liked the soft muted tones of this sunrise. And that tree!! Simply stated beauty. I thought you might like to see it. 3. OAN Roy Francis UPDATED 1:22 PM PT – Friday, January 13, 2023 The Arizona Court of Appeals has agreed to expedite consideration of Kari Lake’s lawsuit which alleges that the 2022 midterm election was flawed. The Arizona Court of Appeals has set a date of February 1st for conferencing on Kari Lake’s lawsuit attempting to overturn the results of the 2022 General election. — Dr. Andrew Jackson (@DrAndrewJackson) January 13, 2023 In an order issued on January 9th, the court ordered a reset of the “matter for conference on February 1st, 2023.” The court has also reportedly agreed with Lake’s argument that her challenge should be handled as “a special action petition.” According to the order, Governor Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.) and her lawyers have until January 17th to respond and make the case as to why Lake’s challenge should be rejected. After a Maricopa County judge had rejected her case in December, the Republican petitioned both the state’s Appeals Court and Supreme Court. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had denied her petition, saying that the lawsuit has to go through the Appeals Court first. Lake filed her lawsuit against Hobbs, Maricopa County supervisors, Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer, along with other officials. The lawsuit asserts that the county’s handling of the midterm election was flawed and that it had disenfranchised Election Day voters. She argued that these issues were enough to sway the election results. She had lost by around 17,000 votes. The lawsuit also claimed that dozens of Maricopa County ballot printers had not worked properly on Election Day, resulting in votes that were in her favor not counting. 42% That's the % of ballots (48 out of 113) that we examined that were 19-inch ballots printed on 20-inch paper. Our Cyber Expert testified (under the penalty of perjury) that this could not have happened absent of intentional misconduct. He will do so again for our appeal. — Kari Lake War Room (@KariLakeWarRoom) January 13, 2023 Lake had hired independent pollster Richard Baris as a witness during the trial. Baris asserted that he thinks the technological issues on Election Day disenfranchised enough votes to have altered the outcome of the contest. He claimed that the majority of Maricopa Election Day voters tended to be Republicans and that between 25,000 and 40,000 persons who ordinarily would have voted didn’t do so because of tabulator and printer issues. Our appeal is scheduled to be heard before the court on February 1st. Do not underestimate @KariLake's desire to get justice for the people of Arizona. It doesn't matter how long it takes. She will see this through. https://t.co/3wgs5eyKOP — Kari Lake War Room (@KariLakeWarRoom) January 12, 2023 Maricopa County judge Peter Thompson had thrown out her lawsuit saying that she did not produce enough evidence to support her claims in December, although he ruled that Lake should not be sanctioned and fined to pay thousands of dollars. A court date for Lake’s challenge has been reportedly scheduled for March

  6. This came up in my memories. 5 years ago my friend Tony Bruno and I were walking along in Sax Zim Bog in Minnesota looking for Great Gray Owls. Our friends had dropped us off to look for birds at another location. The temperature was a balmy 24 degrees below zero and we were walking to hopefully get warm so as to not freeze into a statue. We did find this Owl and at one point he flew right at us. He was close but not as close as this pic may make you think. The Great Gray has an amazing face. >> Tom Dorsey from Kersey

  9. 1.THREAD: Twitter Files #14 https://unga.substack.com/api/v1/file/cea6e24a-d740-4b6a-bcd1-6dea4121ba43.pdf THE RUSSIAGATE LIES One: The Fake Tale of Russian Bots and the #ReleaseTheMemo Hashtag 2.At a crucial moment in a years-long furor, Democrats denounced a report about flaws in the Trump-Russia investigation, saying it was boosted by Russian “bots” and “trolls.” http://2.At 3.Twitter officials were aghast, finding no evidence of Russian influence: “We are feeding congressional trolls.” “Not any…significant activity connected to Russia.” “Putting the cart before the horse assuming this is propaganda/bots.” 4.Twitter warned politicians and media the not only lacked evidence, but had evidence the accounts weren’t Russian – and were roundly ignored. 5.On January 18th, 2018, Republican Devin Nunes submitted a classified memo to the House Intel Committee detailing abuses by the FBI in obtaining FISA surveillance authority against Trump-connected figures, including the crucial role played by the infamous “Steele Dossier”: 6.The Nunes assertions would virtually all be verified in a report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz in December 2019. 7.Nonetheless, national media in January and early February of 2018 denounced the Nunes report in oddly identical language, calling it a “joke”: 9.On January 23rd, 2018, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) and congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) published an open letter saying the hashtag “gained the immediate attention and assistance of social media accounts linked to Russian influence operations.” 9b. Feinstein/Schiff said the Nunes memo "distorts" classified information, but note they didn't call it incorrect. 10.Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal followed suit, publishing a letter saying, “We find it reprehensible that Russian agents have so eagerly manipulated innocent Americans.” 11.Feinstein, Schiff, Blumenthal, and media members all pointed to the same source: the Hamilton 68 dashboard created by former FBI counterintelligence official Clint Watts, under the auspices of the Alliance for Securing Democracy (ASD). 12.The dashboard, which featured a crude picture of Vladimir Putin deviously blowing evil red Twitter birds into the atmosphere, was vague in how it reached its conclusions. 13.Inside Twitter, executives panned Watts, Hamilton 68, and the Alliance for Securing Democracy. Two key complaints: Hamilton 68 seemed to be everyone’s only source, and no one was checking with Twitter. 14.“I encourage you to be skeptical of Hamilton 68’s take on this, which as far as I can tell is the only source for these stories,” said Global Policy Communications Chief (and future WH and NSC spokesperson) Emily Horne. She added: “It’s a comms play for ASD.” 15.“All the swirl is based on Hamilton,” said Trust and Safety chief Yoel Roth. 16.“If ASD isn’t going to fact-check with us, we should feel free to correct the record on their work,” said Policy VP Carlos Monje. 17.Roth couldn’t find any Russian connection to #ReleaseTheMemo – at all. “I just reviewed the accounts that posted the first 50 tweets with #releasethememo and… none of them show any signs of affiliation to Russia.” 18.“We investigated, found that engagement as overwhelmingly organic, and driven by VITs” – Very Important Tweeters, including Wikileaks and congressman Steve King. 19.A staffer for “DiFi” – Feinstein – agreed it would be “helpful to know” how Hamilton 68 goes by “the process by which they decide an account is Russian.” But, only AFTER Feinstein published her letter about Russian influence. 20.When Twitter spoke to a Blumenthal staffer, they tried to “wave him off” because “we don’t believe these are bots.” 21.Added another: “It might be worth nudging Blumenthal’s staffer that it could be in his boss’ best interest not to go out there because it could come back to make him look silly.” 22.One Twitter exec even tried to negotiate, implying an undisclosed future PR concession if Blumenthal would lay off on this: “It seems like there are other wins we could offer him.” 23.Blumenthal published his letter anyway. 24.Execs eventually grew frustrated over what they saw as a circular process – presented with claims of Russian activity, even when denied, led to more claims. 25.They expressed this explicitly to Blumenthal’s camp, saying “Twitter spent a lot of resources” on this request and the reward from Blumenthal shouldn’t be round after round of requests.” “We can’t do a user notice each time this happens.” 26.Eventually Twitter staff realize “Blumenthal isn’t looking for real and nuanced solutions” but “just wants to get credit for pushing us further.” 27.Ultimately senior executives talked about “feeding congressional trolls” and compared their situation to the children’s book, “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.” 28.In the story, if you give a mouse a cookie, he’ll want a glass of milk, which will lead to a wave of other exhausting requests, at the end of which he’ll want a glass of milk. And one more cookie. 29.The metaphor for the endless Russia requests was so perfect, one exec wrote, “I’m legit embarrassed I didn’t think of that first.” 30.Despite universal internal conviction that there were no Russians in the story, Twitter went on to follow a slavish pattern of not challenging Russia claims on the record. 31.Outside counsel from DC-connected firms like Debevoise and Plimpton advised Twitter to use language like, “With respect to particular hashtags, we take seriously any activity that may represent an abuse of our platform.” 32.As a result, reporters from the AP to Politico to NBC to Rolling Stone continued to hammer the “Russian bots” theme, despite a total lack of evidence. 33.Russians weren’t just blamed for #ReleaseTheMemo but #SchumerShutdown, #ParklandShooting, even #GunControlNow – to “widen the divide,” according to the New York Times. 34.Re #SchumerShutdown and #ReleaseTheMemo, the internal guidance was, “Both hashtags appear to be organically trending.” http://34.Re 35.NBC, Politico, AP, Times, Business Insider, and other media outlets who played up the “Russian bots” story – even Rolling Stone – all declined to comment for this story. 36.The staffs of Feinstein, Schiff, and Blumenthal also declined comment. 37. Who did comment? Devin Nunes. "Schiff and the Democrats falsely claimed Russians were behind the Release the Memo hashtag, all my investigative work... By spreading the Russia collusion hoax, they instigated one of the greatest outbreaks of mass delusion in U.S. history.” 38.This #ReleaseTheMemo episode is just one of many in the #TwitterFiles. The Russiagate scandal was built on the craven dishonesty of politicians and reporters, who for years ignored the absence of data to fictional scare headlines. 39.For more, watch @ShellenbergerMD, @bariweiss, @lhfang, @davidzweig, @AlexBerenson, and more. 11. This is absolutely massive from Sasha Latypova. New documents from FOIA reveal that under Obama, the DoD “amended the informed consent requirements during Emergency Use Authorization or public emergency” for clinical trials. Which is why the US government continues to extend the Emergency Use Authorization so they can continue to break International Law...

  15. Save Your Amaryllis! Cheryl J. Shenkle January 2023 So, you now have a box store Christmas Amaryllis that is done blooming, sitting there with green leaves, waiting for your final decision. Toss it now or later if it fails to bloom in the second year. If you had a ready to bloom waxed Amaryllis bulb this year, it was not intended to live beyond the current year because the rooting Basal Plate was cut off before it was waxed. The flower will still open but like a rose in a vase, there is no way for the bulb to grow roots again. Ready to bloom holiday Amaryllis bulbs are forced like all potted Spring Sale Bulbs such as daffodils, lilies and tulips. Like the spring bulbs, Amaryllis can be a garden plant or in cold areas such as ours here in Zone 5, you can treat it like any tropical plant. Following the same commercial greenhouse practice as spring bulbs, but at a different time of year, forced Amaryllis are fertilized minimally with only the currently developing flower in mind. The new bloom which will eventually develop deep inside the cells of the bulb while the current one is blooming doesn’t get sufficient nutrition and may be slowed in development by as much as a year or more. That bulb may already be so starved that this year’s blooms were its final effort and it will die over the winter anyway. Even with good care, the bulb may take up to a year or more to reach blooming weight again. But there’s always hope and success! Getting an Amaryllis to re-bloom is dependent on the size of the bulb, how well it will be fed in the next summer preceding the next bloom period and whether it will then have approximately 8 weeks of a cool dry resting period to trigger the scapes and buds. If you’re game to do a little indoor gardening, then you have a start on saving your Amaryllis for the coming holiday season. With success, you may even be able to start a collection by sharing with friends at plant swaps because a healthy bulb will send out new small bulbs at the base which can be separated and repotted although, left together they will create a stunning display that only you can create. To get started, clean up your plant being careful not to damage the leaves and the roots. Lift the root ball from the pot onto a newspaper and check out the roots. They should be fat and white, not shriveled and dark colored. If they are tightly wrapped around the bulb, then you can gently wash and loosen them slightly in preparation for replanting. Replant the plant in new, well-draining potting medium and return to a low 70s location in bright but not direct sun which could burn the new leaves. Once the late spring frosts are done, with 50 degrees at night, you can either plant it outside in a well fertilized garden or in a pot with large drainage holes where it will be kept watered regularly and fertilized through summer till before the first fall frost. Use a quality liquid 10-10-10 fertilizer when watering from March till flowering begins or slow release 2-3 times a growing season. Do not store in a refrigerator where there are apples. The plant will rest in the very cool temperatures which it needs to trigger re-blooming but do not let it freeze! As late as possible but before a freeze, bring it indoors into a bright window to develop buds and flowers. After blooming, replant and set back into its indoor home for the winter. It will surprise you by blooming at just the right season. My Amaryllis lovelies are planted in a large deep window box that goes out into my deck garden all summer and back into the house to the front window for the winter. In early December they were developing stems and buds. I had 24 flowers after December 15 and still have a few days on the last three blooms. Once they are done flowering, which should be in mid to late January, I will reduce watering till about March. At that time I will water more and feed the plant through the summer. The plant can remain in that container for years as long as it is fed and watered properly. In a commercial greenhouse near me, the owner had about 50 bulbs in a very large garden pot for years. The plants bloomed profusely and people even came from other states to photograph it. Remember that in the tropics, they grow outdoors all year unbothered and successfully figure out when to bloom for themselves. Although the stores will assume you have given up, tossed your old Amaryllis and will then buy another one the next December, you won’t have to because you will already have a healthy bulb that you spoiled, fattened and then allowed it to sleep cool for 8 weeks in order to bloom again! Buy late sale Amaryllis and add them to your collection, just adding them to the bigger pot. You can possibly get blooms over a longer period by staggering different colors and even ordering some catalog varieties. Now, are you still ready to toss that Amaryllis or do you want to really enjoy what they are capable of presenting for the next holidays!
