Carol F. (Reitz) Wingard, age 79 of Lynchburg, VA, formerly of DuBois, PA died Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. Born on July 10, 1943 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph L. and Mary E. (Weaver) Reitz. On July 15, 1967 she married Merle K. Wingard. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1999. Carol had been a partner in Wingard & Wingard Associates, LLC. She is survived by her three children; Barry L. Wingard Ph.D., Jamie K. Wingard and his wife Judith L., and Hayley S. Wingard, four grandchildren; Kayla Yoder and her husband Clayton, Lindsey Stump, Kaytlynn Wingard and Silas Wingard, a sister; Beverly Reagle, a brother; Thomas Reitz and his wife Debbie, and a sister- in-law Edie Reitz. Carol was preceded in death by brothers; Daniel and Donnie Reitz and brother-in-law; Carl Reagle. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 2 -4 PM and 6 – 8 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Additional visitation will be held at Temple Baptist Church, on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 10 AM until 10:45 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM from the church with Pastor Kevin Orndorff officiating. Burial will follow at Beechwoods Cemetery. This incident was in Florida a few days ago, and the now viral video is being labeled a “controversial arrest”. Bullshit! Watch it. There is absolutely nothing controversial about it! The officer on the scene in fact went above and beyond to accommodate this irate girl. This is a result of horribly bad parenting, and the MSM enforcing by magnification that this type of behavior is acceptable. Try that crap in a different country and watch the response you’d get. The officer training me shared some unbelievable stories and the mentality that most police officers are developing is this— even if they do all the right things, if the narrative fits, they could potentially lose their job or worse, go to prison for simply doing their job. After listening to this officer and the struggles they go through, I have a newfound respect for all in law enforcement. It’s probably the most difficult job to have on the planet. Eileen R. Stephen, age 78, of DuBois, PA died Saturday, July 23, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on November 17, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA a daughter of the late John and Mary Elizabeth (Ruffing) Roth. On February 15, 1969, Eileen married Richard Stephen, he preceded her in death on February 4, 1986. Eileen was a parishioner of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church, Falls Creek and a member of the former St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, DuBois. She retired after 33 years as secretary of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in DuBois and was involved in each and every activity that went on in both St. Joseph Church and St. Bernard Church. She also was a member of St. Joseph Rosary Society. Eileen is survived by two daughters; Arlene Heilbrun (Rick Anthony) of DuBois, PA and Bonnie Himmel of Indiana, PA. She is survived by four grandchildren; Megan (Brad) Porrin, Richard Heilbrun, Sarah Heilbrun and Ashley Himmel. Eileen is also survived by three great- grandchildren; Scarlett, BrookLynn and Sebastian. Two brothers survive, Ed Roth and Jim Roth (Carolyn) all of Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to her parents and husband, Eileen was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers; Mary, Jean, Evelyn, Harry, Ray and Bob. There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM in St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church, Falls Creek with Fr. Edward Walk as celebrant.
