  1. Bruce D. Kuntz, age 60, of Sykes Street Extension, DuBois, PA died on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at his home.

    Born on August 7, 1957 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late Henry Kuntz and Alice (Ackrom) Kuntz. She survives and lives in DuBois, PA.

    On September 16, 1977, he married Diane C. Dunworth. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2015.

    He was a mobile x-ray technician for MXI, Inc., previous to that he had worked at Brockway Pressed Metals.

    He was active in coaching baseball at all levels of the DuBois Little League and also had coached the DuBois American Legion Post 17 baseball team.

    He is survived by two children (Shannon Lathrop of Slickville, PA and Derek Kuntz of DuBois, PA) one sister (Marsha Obremski and her husband Chet of Williamsburg, VA) and a granddaughter (Madison Lathrop)

    There will be no public visitation and a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.

    Memorials may be place with the DuBois Little League, P.O. Box 71, DuBois, PA 15801.

  2. Mildred Collins Fulton, Age 98 of DuBois, PA died Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

    Born on December 31, 1918 in Olanta, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. & Gertrude H. (Hoyt) Collins.

    She was a 1936 graduate of the Curwensville High School.
    On June 28, 1941, she married Robert W. Fulton.  He preceded her in death on January 16, 1976.
    She was formerly employed at Gates Hardware in Grampian, PA, and Sears Robuck of Indiana, PA.  She retired from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Richmond, VA where she worked in the filing department

    Mildred was a member of the First United Methodist Church in DuBois, a former member of the Maple Avenue Hospital Auxiliary and the American Red Cross Blood Mobile. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. She was an avid 500 and Bridge player.
    Mildred is survived by 2 sons (R. Larry Fulton & his wife Edith of Luthersburg, PA and Randell L. Fulton & his wife Wanda of DuBois, PA) 4 grandchildren (Susan, Doug, Tammy and Ryan), 1 step grandchild (Logan), 7 great grandchildren, & several nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her brother (Robert D. Collins) and a granddaughter (Carlee Ann Fulton)

    There will be no public visitation and a private funeral service will be held from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Rick Howe officiating.

    Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.

  3. Brenda L. Luzier, age 56, of Salada Road, DuBois, PA died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at her home.

    Born on December 16, 1960 in Clearfield, PA she is the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Hess) Luzier.

    She made her home with Randy Giles.

    She was a homemaker and a member of the Clearfield Fraternal Order of Eagles.

    She is survived by two children (William L. Bloom (Peggy Wisor) of St. Mary’s, PA, Jessica B. Maines (Harry Tipton) of Lavergne, TN, and their father Michael Maines of DuBois, PA), two sisters (Delores “Dee” Hess and Darlene Luzier both of Clearfield, PA) and two brothers (Kenny Luzier of Niles, OH and Ronald Luzier of Houtzdale, PA) and one granddaughter.

    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. to be followed by a memorial service from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

  4. Mary E. Webb, age 86, formerly of East Sherman Avenue, DuBois, PA died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at the DuBois Village.

    Born on December 5, 1930 in DuBois, PA she was the daughter of the late Reginald and Gladys (Aurand) Seyler.

    Mary retired after 21 years of service from the offices at the Penn Traffic Company.

    She was a member of the Lakeside Methodist Church and she enjoyed working around her home.

    She is survived by one brother (Robert Seyler and his wife Susan of Falls Creek, PA) and three sisters (Margaret “Pat” Snyder of Reynoldsville, PA, Cora Young and her husband Carl of Clearfield, PA and Anna Price of DuBois, PA) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

    Mary was preceded in death by three brothers (William, Perry and Don R. Seyler.

    Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 10-11 A.M.at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 11 A.M. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.

    Burial will be in Luthersburg Union Cemetery.

  5. Robert W. “Bob” Smith, age 73, of Randall Court, DuBois, PA died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at his home.

    Born on May 30, 1944 in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph & Clarabelle (Ott) Smith.

    On August 16, 1969, he married Margaret F. (Shrubb) Smith.  She survives.

    Bob was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War.

    Bob retired as a truckdriver from Preston Trucking in Falls Creek, PA after 30 years of service.

    He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, and was an avid wood worker, and enjoyed fishing.  He was a well known “heckler”, and enjoyed meeting with his coffee club of retired truck drivers every Tuesday at Valley Dairy.

    His is survived by 3 daughters (Lisa Vought & her husband Allen, and Laura Weimer & her husband David, both of Rockwood, PA; and Bobbie Shenkle of DuBois, PA), a brother (Joseph Smith & his wife Patty of DuBois, PA), 6 grandchildren (Branden, Katrena, Jess; Jenna, Luke, & Lauren) and 3 great grandchildren (Brailynn, Brooke, & Maddox).

    He was preceded in death by a brother (Ken McConnaughey) and a sister (Kathy Myers).

    Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1 P.M. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Lance Tucker officiating.

    Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.

    Burial will follow in Beechwoods Cemetery.

  6. Ronald A. Gray, age 82, of Rice Hollow Road, Greencastle, PA formerly of DuBois, PA died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his home.

    Born on March 26, 1935 in DuBois, PA he is the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Price) Gray.

    On November 23, 1956 he married Helen (Bergstrom) Gray. She survives.

    He was a veteran on the United States Navy during the Korean War, serving aboard a ship in the Pacific Ocean.

    He was a member of the Salem Reformed Church in Hagerstown, MD and an active participant in the Greencastle Senior Center in Greencastle, PA.

    He is survived by a son (Ronald L. Gray and his wife Mary of Greencastle, PA) two brothers (Donald Gray and his wife Joan of Navarre, OH and Joseph Gray and his wife Wanda of DuBois, PA) two grandchildren (Jeff Gray and Amanda Bothe) and two great grandchildren (Dylan and Jacob Gray).

    Ronald was preceded in death by a sister (Patricia Henry).

    Visitation will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 5-8 P.M. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10 A.M. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Mark Montgomery officiating.

  7. Donna L. Bundy Hallstrom, age 84 of South Eighth Street, DuBois, PA died on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

    Born on July 19, 1933 in Sabula, PA, she was the daughter of the late Hiram & Dora (Shoemaker) Bundy, Sr.

    She married Robert E. Hallstrom. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2012.

    She was a homemaker and past Clearfield County Prothonotary. She also assisted her husband Robert in their photography business for many years.

    Donna was a past member of the Pennsylvania State Republican Committee and a member of the Christ Lutheran Church.

    She is survived by three children (Robin Capcara of Pittsburgh, PA, Camille Hallstrom of Chattanooga, TN and Dr. Laun Hallstrom and his wife Michelle of DuBois, PA) two brothers (Emil Bundy and wife LaRue and Hiram Bundy Jr.) five sisters (Jean Christian, Dora Mae Dodd, Lois Garthwaite, Elda Jones and husband Ivor and Carolyn Lauer) ten grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

    Donna is preceded in death by two brothers (Kenneth and Lyle Bundy) and one sister (Cleo Saldutte).

    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 5-8 P.M. at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. and on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 9:30-10:45 A.M. from the Christ Lutheran Church.

    A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11 A.M. from the Christ Lutheran Church with Pastors John and Amy Miller officiating.

    Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

  8. Barbara A. Mosher, Age 81 of Peterson Road, DuBois, PA died Friday, November 17, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

    Born on April 7, 1936 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Allison & Annabelle (Smith) Connor.

    She is survived by daughters (Debra Batteiger & her husband Allan of Texas, and Linda Rush of New York) a son (Wade Kriner of Oklahoma) a brother (John Connor of DuBois, PA), a sister (Nancy Landis of Kentucky) 4 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren, whom she loved greatly.  She is also survived by her dear friend Jerry Yarger & dog Chloe.

    She was preceded in death by her brother (Allison Connor) and her sister (Patricia Tapper).

    Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

    Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor's choice.

    I have found out over the last few years that some of chromes extensions slows down the internet speed BIG TIME.:(

    If your chrome browser seems to be slacking on the internet, give this a try.

    Go to extensions and disable all of your extensions. They will all stay there but only be disabled.

    You can enable them at any time, if you need them in the future.

    I couldn't believe the speed after I disabled them.

    You can go back and just enable one or two that you use the most and see if the speed stays the same.

  10. Francis “Louie” Fusco, age 81, of Grant Street, Reynoldsville, PA, died on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

    Born on January 11, 1936 in Reynoldsville, PA he is the son of the late Bernard “Bunny” and Viola (Palaggo) Fusco.

    In 1962 he married Madeline B. (Benedetto) Fusco. She survives. They had been married for 55 years.

    He was the current owner/operator of Fusco’s Roofing & Supply Company in Reynoldsville for the past 60 years.

    He was a graduate of Reynoldsville High School class of 1953.

    Louie was a member of the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Reynoldsville, PA, where he was an usher for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #935 and a life member of the Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Department. He looked forward to going each morning to the Masonic Hall in Reynoldsville for the “coffee club”.

    He is survived by one son (Marc L. Fusco of Reynoldsville, PA); as sister (Jacquelyn Bowers of Reynoldsville, PA) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by a sister (Teena McDonald).

    As per Louie’s wishes there will be no public visitation.

    A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11 A.M. form the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Barron as celebrant.

  11. Joseph “Jody” P. Stanton, age 69, of Pacific Avenue, DuBois, PA, died on November 10, 2017 at Christ the King Manor, DuBois, PA.

    Born on July 5, 1948 in DuBois, PA he was son of the late Joseph E. and Mary Kathryn (Shughrou) Stanton.

    Jody was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War.

    On June 4, 1999 he married Kathy (Shaffer) Stanton. She survives.

    Jody retired as a spring fitter from Triangle Auto Springs after over 45 years of service.

    He was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post #17 and the Olympic Athletic Club.  He enjoyed golfing and loved being with his grandchildren.

    He is survived by three children (Heddy Stanton of St. Mary’s, PA, Jodie Wehler and her husband Bruce of St. Mary’s, PA and Kurtis Stanton of Ridgway, PA); a brother (Timothy Stanton and his wife Charlene of Rockton, PA) and three grandchildren (Isaac and Brody Wehler and Madison Stanton).

    Visitation will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 1-3 P.M. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 3 P.M. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Terry Felt officiating.

    Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the Dubois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.

  12. Theran Alfred Reams, age 86, of Oklahoma Cemetary Road, DuBois, PA, died on Friday, November 10, 2017 at DuBois Nursing Home.

    Born on April 1, 1931 in Sykesville, PA he was the son of the late Percy and Mimie (Turner) Reams.

    Theran retired in 2006 as a custodian at Gasbarre Products in Falls Creek and DuBois after 25 years of service. He was a member of the former Christian Missionary & Alliance Church in Falls Creek. He lived most of his live in Falls Creek.

    He is locally survived by his cousins, (Richard Platt and his wife Patricia of DuBois, PA and John Platt and his wife Patricia of Lake Montecillo, VA) as well as other numerous cousins.

    He was preceded in death by two brothers (Ivan Turner and Donald Reams).

    There will be no public visitation.

    A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 1 P.M. from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Pastor Bob Cappel officiating.

    Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery, Falls Creek, PA.

  13. John T. McBride, Jr., GYSGT, USMC (Ret), age 84, of West Long Avenue, DuBois, PA, died on Wednesday, November 08, 2017 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

    Born on May 25, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John T. and Olga (Jantz) McBride, Sr.

    On January 31, 1955 he married Doris L. (Rusden) McBride.  She survives.

    He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he entered in the United States Marine Corps where he served his country for 20 years. During his Marine Corps career, he served in the Vietnam War.

    After his military career, he worked in the private sector.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, and listening to music. 

    He is survived by two daughters Terie McBride, LTC, U.S. Army (Ret) and Tina Anand and her husband Dr. Sanjeev Anand both of DuBois, PA; two sisters, Olga Bittle and Elaine Tirendi, both of Philadelphia, PA; three grandchildren, Jesse Carberry and wife Jill, and Celine and Alaina Anand; and a great grandchild Cole Carberry.

    John was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Carberry and son-in-law, Gary Carberry.

    There will be no public visitation.

    A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.

    Memorials may be placed with any veteran’s organization.

  14. Marjorie M. Murdock, age 85, of Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA died on Monday, November 06, 2017 at Christ the King Manor.

    Born on December 31, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late S. Paul and Adelaide (Worrall) Spears. She was raised in Reynoldsville, PA.

    On May 12, 1951 she married Joseph J. Murdock.  He preceded her in death on August 3, 1999.

    She along with her husband were the owners/operators of the Silver Front Restaurant in Sykesville for over 30 years. After her retirement from the Silver Front, she worked at the Penn State DuBois Bookstore for 7 years.

    Marjorie was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church. She was always very active in many community services and projects in the Sykesville area. She enjoyed ceramics, bingo, traveling and most importantly, being with her family. 

    She is survived by two daughters (Pamela Murdock and Karen Perry both of DuBois, PA); three grandchildren (Tony Perry of Moshannon, PA, John Perry and his wife Jodie of Harmony, PA and James Perry and his wife Angela of Ponte Vedra, FL); and 6 great grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by two brothers (Paul and James Spears) three sisters (Adelaide Spears; Vivian Casey; and Mary Reay Shearer) and a grandson (Joshua Martino).

    Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 10-11 AM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc.

    A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11 AM from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Msgr. Charles Kaza officiating.

    Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.

    Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.
