Grady's Decision Dinner/Dance http://gradysdecision.com/index.php/events/2nd-annual-dubois-dinner-dance Saturday, March 1, 2014 The event will be held at Lifetime Celebrations (formerly the Lithuanian Club) at 801 West Weber Avenue. All proceeds of this event benefit Grady's Decision in supporting the families of premature babies in the DRMC NICU! Doors open at 4pm. Dinner, provided by Palumbo's Catering, will be served between 5pm-7pm with a presentation at 6pm provided by Ryan Smith. Entertainment will be provided by local favorite band "The Ride" between 7pm-11pm. DRMC Hospice Bereavement Services for Children & Teens HUGS for Kids and Teens (K through 12th grade), grief support programs will begin Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. The group will continue for six consecutive Tuesday evenings through April 29, 2014. There is no fee for participation, howev- er, participants do need to register by calling 375-3300. 'If you're old enough to love, you're old enough to grieve.' Your interest and support are appreciated. For more information, brochures or to register a participant, please contact DRMC Hospice at (814) 375-3300. Sponsored by DuBois Regional Medical Center Hospice and funded by the Gray Foundation, these bereavement programs provide a safe and supportive atmosphere where children and teens, who have experienced the death of a loved one, can share their experiences and feelings. The facilitators will assist children and teens in learning ways to deal with the grieving pr ocess through discussions, roleplaying, art and literature.

  11. HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO SHOW DVD OF '13 LANTERN WALK The 2013 DuBois Area Historical Society "Spirit of DuBois" Lantern Walk was the most successful event in Society history. A record 352 people attended the walk, which focused on the 125th anniversary of the Great Fire of 1888. HangHood Productions of DuBois recorded and produced a DVD of the walk. For its first program of 2014, the DuBois Area Historical Society will show the DVD on Monday, January 27, at 7 p.m. in the E.D. Reitz Museum, 30 W. Long Ave., DuBois. The showing is free and open to the public. In addition to allowing the viewer to revisit the many characters from the walk, who relate the story of the fire that destroyed most of the DuBois business district and the community's quick revival, the DVD also features pre-walk interviews with the cast and historical society members, interviews with those who attended the walk, and other insider features. The showing is approximately one hour. Copies of the DVD will be available for sale that evening. Upcoming events for the DuBois Area Historical Society include: January 27 - "Lantern Walk 2013 - The Great Fire", a showing of the video of the event, E. D. Reitz Museum, 28-34 W.   18. The first meeting of the local chapter of the Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM) for 2014 is set for Tuesday, January 14th. Registration and the buffet breakfast are set for 8 AM and the program will begin at 8:30. The meeting will be held at the DuBois Diner. At this meeting there will be a sharing of ideas on Teamwork and Leadership. The facilitator will be Susan M. Grady, SPHR. DuBOIS - Healing After Loss, a support group of DuBois Regional Medical Center Hospice which offers education and validation for adults dealing with the loss of a loved one, will meet from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan 7. There is no cost to attend. The group meets from 4-6 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month in the first floor conference room of the Home Health Building. The Home Health Building is located at the DRMC West campus along Hospital Avenue, DuBois. It is on the hill between the hospital itself and the former high school building.
